Re: What’s for dinner?

  • I have been in such a rut with cooking lately too! I shopped today... Our dinners this week will include chicken stir fry, pot roast, ravioli, kielbasa and pierogies, pork burrito bowls... Tonight is stir fry night.

  • Well, it snowed here in the south and everything shutdown. It's probably going to be either chicken nuggets or left over pasta. All I really want is moose tracks ice cream but I'd have to go out for that. :(

    Sorry, that's not helpful.

  • It’s hard because I can’t have anything with a tomato based sauce (I think it’s what the trigger is). Pizza, meatballs, and spaghetti have all made me have extreme heartburn attacks. To the point where I make myself throw up and can’t move for about an hour. It feels like a heart attack. So basically, most easy/quick meals I would typically make, i can’t have.

  • I spent all morning in the ER with DS2 and DH isn't going to be home for dinner... so maybe I'll make spaghetti or maybe I'll order a pizza.

  • I'm going to make Buffalo chicken pizza, I will pay for it all night with heart burn but I've been craving good pizza for over a week, and my homemade pizza is better than any restaurant in our tiny town. Maybe do a white pizza instead to get rid of the tomato sauce.

Here's a complicated recipe, but you get the idea... And it looks yummy.

  • Hospital mashed potatoes  :D lol but they weren’t too bad!
  • We are having tacos, cooking a whole chicken, spaghetti, and Thai take out the next few days

  • I ended up just throwing some onion, garlic, carrots, butter, olives, lemon juice and Italian seasoning in a pan and tossing it with penne pasta. Haha nothing fancy but it filled up my tummy.

  • We are having a pretty simple but yummy pasta. I roast some cherry tomatoes in the oven, cook spaghetti, then drain it and mix in butter and this spreadable gouda/blue cheese someone local makes. Throw in the tomatoes, some meat balls, a handful of arugula at the last minute then sprinkle with parmasan. Yum. When I can't get that cheese I just use lots of grated parm and it's also good.
  • We had KFC because we were too lazy to cook and are out of food ideas.

@Poppy0419, glad you're eating well in the hospital!
  • I haven’t made my grocery list for next week yet (will do it tomorrow), but here’s what I cooked this week - vegetarian pad Thai (google rainbow pad Thai and you’ll find it), Santa Fe style chicken (crockpot), & lentil soup. Tonight we went out to dinner for Thai (can’t get enough).

  • Butternut Squash Soup mmmmmm

  • I had a salad at carabas. Tonight I’m probably going out with my bosses and I’ll eat junk I’m sure...

This week’s meals though, are hot Italian sausage with roasted spaghetti squash and spaghetti sauce, pork loin with zucchini and yellow squash and roasted red potatoes, chicken in sauerkraut, chili, beef stew, chicken in peanut sauce with carrots and broccoli, and Spanish rice with black beans. No idea what DH will cook on his night
  • @ivyvines6, hook a momma up with that pork loin recipe!
  • nothing...damn pregnancy nausea won't leave! But, I am with you @lincbeesmom on tomato sauce...the smell of it triggers my nausea like nothing else.
  • Sun- toasted ravioli and salad
    Mon- breakfast for dinner
    Tues- tacos
    Wed- pasta con broccoli
    Thurs - layered burrito bake
    Fri- pizza

I probably won't make half of this because I'm too tired.
  • man, these posts are making me feel lazy.  I'm lucky if I come up with something other than pizza or soup (from a can, not homemade).  Nothing sounds appetizing still...

  • We had brown sugar, garlic, and herb pork chops, roasted cauliflower with Parmesan, and roasted herb potato wedges. Delicious!
