If someone I knew gave me brownies made with breast milk, I would totally eat them. Homemade brownies are freakin' delicious, man, and I think consuming cow milk (which I also sometimes do, for the record) is way weirder than consuming human milk.

@MoonOverGoldsboro While I would not be down for eating breast milk brownies, I too, find consuming cow's milk weird and gross. Milk in general just kind of freaks me out.
Side note--I had a dream last night about breastfeeding and like it was so easy and didn't hurt at all hahaha in your dreams girl, literally.
consuming breast milk (as an adult) is weird but so is consuming cows milk. Milk is something that is nutritionally dense to help a baby develop and as adults we don't need all those hormones. I don't drink cows milk. But I'm a hypocrite because give me all the cheese and ice cream!
AFM...I live in MN so maybe no one else cares about this but I don't think Al Franken should have resigned. While I think all claims of sexual assault and misconduct should be taken seriously, I think he should have been given the right to due process. The Ethics Committee hasn't completed their investigation but the other Dems basically just called for his head.

@lindsayleigh1989 I don't think he did it to avoid the committee because he is still denying that some of it happened or that it happened a different way. He said he was going to cooperate fully with the ethics committee. I think he realized that he needed to be the poster boy. The democrats said that they weren't going to support someone who has been accused of sexual assault so they could kind of stick their tongue out at the republicans. It heightens the difference in their support of Roy Moore and Trump.

@krashke I agree, but possibly for different reasons. I actually think Franken probably did some shady isht before his politics days, and I do think more would have come out in the ethics investigation. The reason I think he should've stuck with the ethics investigation is that if he really has learned the errors of his ways, he should take the constant barrage of publicity badness that the investigation would bring. My problem with a lot of what has come out recently (Matt Lauer, etc) is that it's handled in a way that makes it seem like, "Oh a woman complained, and we instantly believed her with minimal evidence, and now we're going to ruin this man's career." That supports what a lot of nutters think that oh women are just out here trying to ruin men's careers. Like, no, these are women who should be taken seriously and not demeaned, but it shouldn't be different than non-sexual assault or theft. And the truth is that in many of these instances, many many women came forward over years and then finally executives made a move to change things - it's rarely this instant dismissal they make it out to seem.
That said, from a PR perspective I understand why the dems wanted him out. It's bad publicity to go through an investigation, very little good can come from it other than more and more people being aware of its existence. And yes, they also want to be as different from how the republicans are handling the Moore situation, so that's a huge factor too.
I guess what I'm saying is that "believing women" when they come forward with assault and rape allegations doesn't mean treating their word as gospel - it means treating it as valid information worth looking into, not immediately assuming they're liars. (And I think that's what you're saying too, so don't mean to sound like I'm saying something different from what you are on that front.)
I am super stoked that it sounds like his replacement will be female, though. Could use more women in congress.
Re: breastmilk brownies, I would need to know more about the woman lol. I only drink organic cow's milk, and I care a lot about where it comes from, etc., so it seems like I should be at least given the same information about the woman whose breastmilk I ingest. lol
@doxiemoxie212 I definitely think more would have come out from the investigation and I'm sure some not pretty things. I agree that a lot of people think that someone makes one statement and boom he's gone but I know in the Matt Lauer case that had been going on for at least two weeks before he was fired but with the ish he did he should have been gone ages ago.
Anyway, I also agree that to take an accusation seriously means doing an investigation not taking their word as gospel but also not saying they lied. I think a lot of women don't come forward because they don't actually want to "ruin someones life." But also if you don't want to be worried about someone being able to ruin your life then don't assault people.

@krashke the Matt Lauer stuff is nuts. Like, when people say things like, "Oh well, if she was telling the truth, there's no way other people didn't know." And it's like THEY CLEARLY DID KNOW lol. Can you imagine having to work with a creep who had a button under his desk to lock his door, specifically so he could harass/assault women??? lol INSANE!
