Started selfishly! Going in for NT Scan and NIPT blood draw tomorrow. Also seeing my OB. I had a million questions for her over the weekend, now I can't remember any of them. Ugh.
NT Scan Friday morning, mainly to see the bean. @LaceyBee522 I can identify with forgetting questions. If I don't write things down, I will never remember.
I have my second appointment, first with the OB, on Friday! Hoping to get some of the issues with the NP sorted out. After I see her I might start scheduling my appointments with the midwives...

I had my NT scan yesterday. Everything looked good. Little guy didn’t want to cooperate at first, he just wanted to sleep so they gave me a really nasty sugary candy to wake him up. Measuring 13+2 but I don’t put much weight on the measurements unless they’re wayyyy off since it’s obviously hard to measure a squirming baby.
I just had an appointment and heart beat was good. Blood pressure has been high though so I have to do a 24 hour urine test then bloodwork and an ekg. Anyone else had to do those?
@buddins22 do you have to catch it for 24 hours at home? That’s how they diagnosed my pre-e last time. I had to bring in my two jugs of urine for testing. I don’t think you can get pre-e in first trimester though, can you?
Just got back from my NT Scan. Don't know anything. The US tech had a really hard time and had to go get someone else. Then they had to consult each other. Not feeling real great about the whole thing.
@doxiemoxie212 I'm at the office (not a good place to be when I'm losing my shit/super-irritated). No info. Like, the living embodiment of the shrug emoji.
@amys614 I'm going to call my OB's office in a couple of hours and hopefully she'll have my scans by then and be able to tell me something (anything?!). Otherwise, the US tech just said I'd have more info when the blood results come back.
@LaceyBee522 ugh, I'm sorry you're going through that. That was honestly my biggest fear, that they wouldn't tell me anything because when I had to have an ultrasound pre-pregnancy to see if I had fibroids or anything in my uterus, the ultrasound tech would not say a WORD, and I had to wait a week for my OB to be like, "Everything looks great, nothing to worry about, nothing there that shouldn't be." I was worried the same thing would happen again with the scan, but at my NT scan the tech talked us through everything and wouldn't let us leave until an OB reviewed my scans and confirmed what she believed. I would call your OB right now and tell him/her you're freaked the eff out and you really need someone to be on the lookout for your scans. If they're normal, your OB might just be like oh ok, NBD, tech probably told her, or something, and not pay it any mind to give you info.
@doxiemoxie212 I just got off the phone with my OB's office. She said the scans are finalized, but they can't tell me anything until they get the blood work back. She was super nice and understanding, but this is driving me crazy. I feel like there must be something wrong with the scans, which is why everyone is saying I have to wait for the blood work. No one wants to give you bad news, if it isn't for sure - you know?
@LaceyBee522 maybe they're just super careful, they also probably don't want to tell you it's good news and then have to take that back. Not sure which scenario being wrong in is worse. But could you see babes moving around? Maybe it's harder to read NT scans for twins?
@LaceyBee522 I don't know if it will ease your mind at all, but: The NT scan alone is much less accurate than the combination of scan + blood work. It is it not uncommon for offices to not release results until all of the information has been received. So I would not take your OB's response as a clear indicator that something is amiss; it is probably just standard procedure for them. I will cross my fingers that you hear something from your OB as soon as humanly possible!!

Thanks @MoonOverGoldsboro! It just seems like the norm is for folks to get some sort of news/analysis from the tech right away, so this lack of response is sort of frustrating/overwhelming.
@LaceyBee522 I agree it would be nice to have gotten something. With my first, the tech was clearly not supposed to say anything, but right as we were packing up and leaving, she quick said "this isn't an official result, but everything looked okay." I obviously appreciated that, especially because we had the same experience as you did: The first tech couldn't get the measurement, so she had to bring in a second person. We ended up being there for 45 mins! That definitely adds an extra element of "WTF is going on."

@LaceyBee522 I'm so sorry you're going through this. I hope that you can get some answers quickly but I agree that they probably can't release much information about the scans until they have the blood work as well. Did the OB say how long it would be for the blood work?

@LaceyBee522 Im so sorry. FX everything is perfect. The same sort of thing happened to me with DD, except we weren't told anything was "wrong" until MFM called us to set up a family counseling appointment and an additional scan. ETA: Everything was fine - she had a down syndrome trigger on her scan, and i found out i had two placentas

@laceybee522 I'm so sorry you're stuck in limbo. I doubt this will really help. But with DS, the tech was all 'yah measurements look great', which had us feeling awesome. Then 4 days later I get the phone call that shattered me for days, that our chances of problems are high because of how it calculated with our bloodwork. So that really stung after thinking we had good news (he was fine in the end). But I think that's why some places won't say anything till all results are in and finalized. Just to spare the emotions in either direction. Praying that's what's happening... that all was good, they just want to finalize your good results. Sending hugs and hoping results are in asap.

Thanks for all the feedback guys! I talked to the nurse again. She said to call tomorrow and hopefully they'll have some of the blood work back and they can give me more info. Through this I just found out that my work friend went to the same hospital and they told her that if anything looked "wrong," then a radiologist would have come in to talk to me.
@LaceyBee522 FX all is well, and they're just conservative with sharing information prematurely.
Also probably a good lesson for anyone lurking - ask your OB about expectations re: information before the scan! No need to freak yourself out if their policy is just never to share any kind of information early.

Hopefully soon after I'll get my NT scan and NIPT BW done. But we'll see.
