My daughter. That’s right. My one year old tiny monster is a twatwaffle today because her mother is an idiot and occasionally lets her play with the wallet. Well today I realized I hadn’t had my drivers license in about 10 days. I turned my house upside down looking for it. I cried. FOR TWO HOURS. Because I need my license. Because my husband is gone and I live way the hell away from family and I have appointments to go to and I’m moving in three weeks and I NEED MY LICENSE.
Yall. In desperation I even dug through the old, maggoty, smelly trash outside. Wanna know where I eventually found my license? In the couch. No, not under the couch cushions. IN THE COUCH. This child unzipped a zipper and out my license in there.
I know its technically my fault and she kept giving me hugs and kisses during my two hour search because she knew I was upset. And then we went to McDonald’s together because damnit, I deserved a shake.
@ShawnnaO totally justified tears. I found my missing license WITHIN the passenger seat of my car after sobbing about it once. Perspective is hard. At least you made yourself hardier by digging through the garbage? Enjoy that shake, girl.
@DDRRT1982 own the F bomb. I actually think pregnancy probably justifies the occasional outburst more than other times.
@ShawnnaO Can I just say that I'm super impressed you actually found it there?! I never would have looked there. You earned two shakes. One for dealing with the stress and one for finding it!
@stlbuckeye132 the ONLY reason I thought to look was because I’ve noticed recently that she’s starting to understand how zippers work. I’m so glad I looked because there’s actually no way I would have been able to function like a normal human being without my license for next few weeks until I could get a new one sent to me.
Also, everyone, the garbage was easily the most disgusting thing I’ve ever done and I need about five showers.
@Gingermom15 So much yes! My 18m old is really starting the tantrums.
@ShawnnaO Wow! I am impressed, too. For her thinking to hide it there and for you to find it there.
My MIL. I know she is just being a mom and really really cares (she's the greatest usually), but if she tells me to not overdo it one more time. It's driving me crazy! I have a 18m old to take care of and I have done this before. Did I mention I'm an adult? It probably isn't as bad as I feel it is because of hormonal irritability, but jeez. I have enough anxiety without her pushing hers on me. Okay. Rant over.

My insurance company. They keep sending us new policy slips, with the wrong expiration year. They say the policy renewed Nov.11, 2017 and expired on Nov.11, 2017. They have sent the same slips 3 times now.
@Dani103 she likes cleaning (I know, she’s an angel) but sometimes her idea of putting things “away” is putting them places they definitely, 100%, don’t go. Hence the license in the couch.
Also, 100% understand being over other people telling me to take it easy. I find myself downplaying what I do during the day a lot when I talk to my parents because they always tell me not to overdo it. It doesn’t bother me necessarily, I think it’s sweet, but it does get old fast.
The tick who gave my dog Lyme disease! Also, Frontline for not really protecting his muzzle...anyway, the vet is really getting to know our pets this week (and our debt card numbers, ouch).
@HappyMonkey817, I sit here too. I am just so over being pregnant. I'm ready to find out what I look like again after basically 3.5 years of being pregnant and for everything not to feel so hard!

@stlbuckeye132 yea he's on medication now and should be better soon. He's hobbling around because his joints are all inflamed. Poor pup, well old man actually, he's 11 and we thought it was something way worse.
This glucose test is a TW. I just drank the orange one and am sitting here for an hour with the biggest stomach ache. I went from being super hungry (I was told not to eat or drink before the test) to now feeling like I’m gonna vomit after having that thing. I don’t do well with this test. My sugar crashes fairly quickly after drinking it. All the other times my results came back as borderline low. I have my regular appointment after this and am gonna flip out if I have to wait a long time without some real food. Carbs/sugar and I do not mix will.
@k318 who told you not to eat before your test? My ob said to have a good high protein breakfast before the test, to just avoid carbs and maybe fast an hour before the test. I hope your wait goes by fast and you can get something to eat soon!
@k318 I took mine in the morning, too, and I brought a banana and yogurt to eat after the blood draw. Since I did mine early in the day, I was essentially fasting - I feel like I didn't get a ton of guidance on what to do, so when my instructions said no sugar 2 hours before the test, I just went full on fasting. Hope you are able to eat something soon and that you do well on your test!!
I had my appointment yesterday and my glucose test is at my next appointment. My OB said nothing to eat for 2-3 hours beforehand. So my appointment is 11:40 and I can eat my regular breakfast at 8 before I go. I know the 3 hour test they make you fast.
It was miserable. And while I’m sitting there they told me my doctor was going to be around 2 hours late. So I went home and ate and am back waiting and waiting. I know, poor office management here as this is the case at least half of the time I was here. I was in the process of looking for a new doc when I found out I was pregnant and couldn’t find anyone else that delivers at the hospital I like that is remotely near my home.
I'm pretty sure all the rules for the glucose test are all over the board, including the number that constitutes pass/fail. For kid 1, when I failed the one hour, the phlebotomist whispered to me that she thinks the test is basically designed for people to fail so that they can charge you for further testing LOL. It sucks because, one, GD is pretty serious, so you'd think better guidelines for first-round screening would be more consistent, and two, the three-hour test royally sucks.

@bettyvonsomethingstein I was thinking the same thing. It seems like everyone gets told something different. And it’s not just differences between countries, which would be understandable, but the guidelines are all over the place in the US.
My DH. I hate talking poorly, but he is freaking me out. Long story, he is taking a new job in January. They have a crappy 30 day waiting period before insurance benefits go into effect. He told me he was going to subscribe to cobra. Then today tells me he isn't going to subscribe to cobra unless we need it and that I need to see if I can just be monitored once between January 1 to Feb 1. Andplusalso, my son is suppose to get braces in January which would need to wait. I will be 30 weeks to 35 weeks between this gap ime and am high risk with a monitored cerclage. Besides the fact I am more than nervous with the "wait and see" approach in regards to cobra, this sounds like a very bad idea with such a large family. I am currently in my 30 day enrollment period for my new job and suggested going on my insurance and then WWIII broke out. WTF? We don't share income, so I am not sure why this is such a problem. Anyways, after some analysis we are probably going to take my insurance and I will have access to care as I should. I just can't believe that my opinion, worries, recommendations, and options were shut down so quickly. Bullshit!
@dani103 mine just turned two and he is hell on wheels some days. How can such a cute little thing go from being sweet and loving to banging their head on the floor and screaming in 2 seconds? All because he dropped a toy or something. I know it’s frustration and he is learning to channel it, but damn! I really wish I could have some booze
@DDRRT1982, there's no way I would go without coverage that late into pregnancy. Best case scenario is everything is fine and you didn't need to access it. Worst case scenario is you have a premature birth with a NICU stay that wracks up how much money and stress. Don't take the chance. Plus weeks 30-35 usually have 2-3 appointments. I wouldn't want to miss those.
And I apologize. I really don't want to scare anyone reading this. But you need to put baby as #1 and take precautions.
My 2.5 yr old DS-I feel bad for writing this but he is definitely stressing DH and I out. He gets out of bed multiple times a night and always tries to go into his big sisters room. We have the baby gate up in front of his doorway along with two of those big plastic 10 gallon totes and empty laundry baskets to block the doorway off in the hallway. We've taken everything hazardous out of his room (diaper cream and wipes on his changing table) so if he would just stay in his room I wouldn't care because after he fell asleep I'd just put him back in bed. It's the getting out of his room and wandering around that bothers me because he will get into EVERYTHING, the fridge, the silverware drawer (once he put all the spoons under a chair cushion), pots and pans, my purse, anything. He leaves a large trail of destruction after himself.
Between him getting out of bed/his room, leaving a trail of destruction, and his newest trick of running away and "hiding" when we're trying to get him dressed to go somewhere it sucks. DH does not deal well with stress and has a stressful job so when DS messes something up DH doesn't clean it up because he knows it will just get messed up again and snaps at the kids easier than I do because I have a lot more patience than him. So while DS is the cutest thing in the world and can be super sweet, he's driving me nuts. So now I have DH texting me about what new things DS has done while I'm at work and can't do anything about it so DH is going to get added to the TW list soon....
@DDRRT1982: Keep in mind that you will (should) be able to change your coverage as a result of a life change. So, even if you don't want to keep the insurance through your job for the long haul you can do the smart, I mean safe, thing and enroll through your job now and switch when baby is born.
Exactly what I told my husband. I think my coverage is actually better than his, so I am really not sure why he wasn't very nice about it all. Thanks for the reassurance.
