@JamieH2000 We ended up transferring two PGS normal blasts. Both were hatching...I think they looked kind of adorable @laurad75 Yes...my beta is next Friday. It's funny you asked that question. I'm usually an obsessive HPT tester. This time though, there's a part of me that just wants to savor being PUPO and to have hope for as long as I can so I may try to avoid testing for as long as possible.

@radmom27- the blasts sound beautiful! Can i ask how you how you decided on two? I am planning on two, but still having doubts.
As far as testing, I probably won't test until sun before beta (12/18). I am hosting my inlaws, including a preggo SIL and 3 nephews on sat 12/16, so I don't think I can handle bad news before that event.

@JamieH2000 There are definitely multiple TW in my answer...**** I have 18 year old twin boys and they have been the absolute joy of my life. Having another child now would be essentially like having another family, as the boys will be leaving and going to college soon. When DH and I started on this journey we had always talked about having two more children. As the years of secondary infertility have dragged on, we feel like we're running out of time to have two and since our experience raising our sons has been such a positive one, we are prepared and would welcome doing it all over again. I was able to carry them to term so am hopeful that I could do it again. END OF TW**** I'm also worried that will all of the problems/issues I've had until now, that I just won't be lucky to have a PGS tested embryo work and that putting in two is a little more assurance that this may work. I hope that wasn't TMI.

I remember you having other children but didn't realize they were twins! That makes so much sense then since you already know you can carry them and know what it is like. Did you choose the genders? No big deal if you don't want to share!

Hi everyone!!! Do you mind if I join? @JamieH2000 recommended me to join this thread.
So, my DH and I have been fighting this battle of infertility for almost a year and half. I was diagnosed with DOR (low AMH and high FSH) and now prolonged menstrual cycles of 5-6 weeks. Been to multiple docs. We’ve tried 3 IUIs, a few natural IVF cycles, and 2 cancelled stimulated IVF cycles. After the last cycle, RE said he can try another protocol but it all depends on my day 2 FSH. He also asked us to strongly consider DE. We aren’t sure what to do. We are tired of fighting this battle and I’m so ready to be a mom; feel like with each passing day I’m losing that time I could spend with my future children. So hard to decide.
I’m wondering how that decision process was for you guys? Thanks
@adc0417 Welcome!! It took me almost four years to come to my senses and realize that donor eggs were my best option. I initially was opposed to the idea but now, after transfer, I often forget that this is a donor cycle. I'm currently PUPO (don't know if this will take or not and am in the 2WW) but can tell you that I adore these little embryos and feel no differently about that than I would if they came from me.

@adc0417 Welcome. For me, after 3 unsuccessful retrievals that didn't result in any transferable embryos, I found it easy to move on to DE - that is not the case for everyone. I was so discouraged in the treatments and knew in my heart that we were wasting our time. As soon as we turned the corner to pursue DE IVF I knew it was how we would get our family. I am also PUPO and anxiously awaiting my beta test tomorrow.
If you are stuck on the idea of using another person's genetic material I recommend doing some research on epigenetics which will show you even though you are using a donor egg your body still has a great amount of influence in the DNA development. I found that information really interesting and helpful.
Feel free to ask all your questions. You'll find that the women who frequent this board are very proud of our decision to use DE and no one has regrets.

My boobs have been sore - although that really wasn't obvious until a couple of days ago. I've been having trouble sleeping but that could just be anxiety. Beyond the sore boobs I haven't had anything obvious.

**MC mentioned** adc0417 - Welcome to the board. **MC mentioned** My story of getting here is that I am 36, have DOR and am a relatively poor responder for my age. I had two failed IUIs, then got pregnant with twins my first IVF and had a miscarriage of both at 8 weeks. As a result ended up being rushed by my DH to the ER in the middle of the night, it was shocking and horrible. Second IVF got pregnant with one and discovered a miscarriage in the OBs office at 10 weeks. Had a D&C a few days later. I as able to have the POCs tested after each MC and turns out the embryos were genetically abnormal every time. Did a third IVF and did PGS the final time, but only had 2 5-day embryos to test and both were abnormal. They are fairly confident that it's an egg issue; both me and DH have normal karyotypes. I was a case that could of gone either way according to the multiple REs we met with; each was willing to try again with my OE but one gave me about a 15% chance of success with my own eggs at this point. My husband pushed hard for DE; he wants us to be parents asap and does not believe that shared DNA is the only thing that can make a family. Also, I just felt like my body and my emotional wellbeing just couldn't take anymore IVF cycles where the chance of success was so low. I have doubts, wonder what if I had tried another cycle, another protocol, etc. I really do think I would have eventually gotten pregnant with OE, it was just a matter of how many more cycles we were willing to do. Part of that is my personality though, I obsess and over analyze everything, and this is a huge decision. So that is the story of how we decided to move on. TMI I know.
How does your DH feel about it, does he have a strong feeling either way? We met with a fertility counselor at our clinic and discussed it with her; I thought that was pretty helpful to talk it through with someone other than just me and DH. So that might be helpful for you too (?)

I have 18 year old twin boys and they have been the absolute joy of my life. Having another child now would be essentially like having another family, as the boys will be leaving and going to college soon. When DH and I started on this journey we had always talked about having two more children. As the years of secondary infertility have dragged on, we feel like we're running out of time to have two and since our experience raising our sons has been such a positive one, we are prepared and would welcome doing it all over again. I was able to carry them to term so am hopeful that I could do it again. END OF TW****
I'm also worried that will all of the problems/issues I've had until now, that I just won't be lucky to have a PGS tested embryo work and that putting in two is a little more assurance that this may work.

So, my DH and I have been fighting this battle of infertility for almost a year and half. I was diagnosed with DOR (low AMH and high FSH) and now prolonged menstrual cycles of 5-6 weeks. Been to multiple docs. We’ve tried 3 IUIs, a few natural IVF cycles, and 2 cancelled stimulated IVF cycles. After the last cycle, RE said he can try another protocol but it all depends on my day 2 FSH. He also asked us to strongly consider DE. We aren’t sure what to do. We are tired of fighting this battle and I’m so ready to be a mom; feel like with each passing day I’m losing that time I could spend with my future children. So hard to decide.
I’m wondering how that decision process was for you guys? Thanks

If you are stuck on the idea of using another person's genetic material I recommend doing some research on epigenetics which will show you even though you are using a donor egg your body still has a great amount of influence in the DNA development. I found that information really interesting and helpful.
Feel free to ask all your questions. You'll find that the women who frequent this board are very proud of our decision to use DE and no one has regrets.

adc0417 - Welcome to the board. **MC mentioned** My story of getting here is that I am 36, have DOR and am a relatively poor responder for my age. I had two failed IUIs, then got pregnant with twins my first IVF and had a miscarriage of both at 8 weeks. As a result ended up being rushed by my DH to the ER in the middle of the night, it was shocking and horrible. Second IVF got pregnant with one and discovered a miscarriage in the OBs office at 10 weeks. Had a D&C a few days later. I as able to have the POCs tested after each MC and turns out the embryos were genetically abnormal every time. Did a third IVF and did PGS the final time, but only had 2 5-day embryos to test and both were abnormal. They are fairly confident that it's an egg issue; both me and DH have normal karyotypes. I was a case that could of gone either way according to the multiple REs we met with; each was willing to try again with my OE but one gave me about a 15% chance of success with my own eggs at this point. My husband pushed hard for DE; he wants us to be parents asap and does not believe that shared DNA is the only thing that can make a family. Also, I just felt like my body and my emotional wellbeing just couldn't take anymore IVF cycles where the chance of success was so low. I have doubts, wonder what if I had tried another cycle, another protocol, etc. I really do think I would have eventually gotten pregnant with OE, it was just a matter of how many more cycles we were willing to do. Part of that is my personality though, I obsess and over analyze everything, and this is a huge decision. So that is the story of how we decided to move on. TMI I know.
How does your DH feel about it, does he have a strong feeling either way? We met with a fertility counselor at our clinic and discussed it with her; I thought that was pretty helpful to talk it through with someone other than just me and DH. So that might be helpful for you too (?)
