Since we've had a couple moms deliver this past week (
@mudge85 and
@ecolton01) I hope they can still check in and say hi!

How far along are you? What size are the babies?
Any appointments this week/last? How did it go?
How are you feeling?
What rants/raves/questions/advice?
QOTW: What was your favorite/most interesting/entertaining part of this past holiday weekend?
Re: MoMs (Mothers of Multiples) weekly check-in - 11/28
Food at Thanksgiving dinner was mostly good. We went to my SIL's in-laws house, so there was some "new" foods that i wouldn't have thought to have at a traditional turkey day dinner.....lol (ex: they had a bowl of quinoa and cranberries, and called that "stuffing/dressing" and didn't have any of the "regular" kind...sadness!) Also, on Saturday, SIL and MIL took me to Buy Buy Baby and bought a lot of the stuff still on the registry that DH and I will need pretty much asap (Left the other stuff that won't be used asap - like an ergobaby carrier - on the registry cause we know a lot of people will be buying things once the twins are born) so that was nice to be able to "fill in the holes" of baby/nursery stuff that we still needed...
i really just enjoyed being with family..
Wow! I cant wait for the updates from @Mudge85 and @ecolton01 as ive been watching all the birth boards every day and never seen anything about them having their twins..
@caseyw8784 let us know what your dr says on Friday.. ive heard that twin labor can be totally different from a single..
35&1, modi twins who feel enormous, couple of honeydew melons.
At my OB on Monday, we confirmed that we'll induce or have a c-section on 12/11, unless I go into labor sooner.
And I feel rough! Which leads me to think I may go into labor. My lower belly has expanded all of a sudden, with stretch marks and burning skin, and I can't sit without squishing my belly against my upper thighs. I feel pressure on my cervix whenever I'm upright. And I'm ready!
I was lucky over the holiday-- my parents were okay driving down to visit (we usually have dinner at their house, but I couldn't handle the 45 minute drive).
7 IUIs, 7 BFNs.
2 IVF attempts, both cancelled and converted to IUI, both BFNs.
Decided that my tired old ovaries are ready to retire.
Next step- reciprocal IVF, using my wife's eggs, my uterus!
fresh 5 day transfer (2 embryos) 4/17/17- BFP!
Identical twins "due" 1/2/17 (but anticipated arrival sometime December)

Hi ladies!!!! So sorry for the delay in checking in! I’ve been updating in the FB group because it’s just easier for me to post there but I’ll give you girls quick rundown.
last friday 11/24 I woke up at 4AM thinking “hmm.... did I just pee?!” So I went to the bathroom, peed, and waited a minute to see if more fluid came out and nothing... so I changed my clothes and got back in bed... not even 5 minutes later I was soaked again so I knew something was up. I woke DH up who said “you’re joking right?” Ha! No dear... called the doc and explained what happened and while I was on the phone with her liquid trickled down my leg... she told me to head to the hospital and get a test done just to see. DH showered I gathered my last minute things and we headed out the door. We got to the hospital around 5:10 and they wheeled me up to L&D. Upon arrival at L&D they tested my cervical fluid & put me on monitors. 15 minutes later the nurse came back and said... “the test was negative but I don’t believe it and neither does your doctor so we’re doing it again...” the nurse did another test and said we’d have the results in 15 minutes... well they started to get quite busy and 15 minutes passed... then 20.. finally a different nurse comes in and says “okay I’m going to take your blood” and I said “okay.... why?” and she said “oh for admission”. “Ahhh.... “ a few minutes later they wheeled me down to a room and reconnected the monitors. My contractions were every 4-5 minutes and my doctor was not pleased with it. They gave me a steroid injection for their lungs and put me on fluids to try to slow down labor. I drank some apple juice and that spaced the contractions out a little but not crazy. I got an ultrasound and saw both babies were head down. Finally around 2pm they had spaced out enough that they were comfortable letting me eat. I sent DH home to check on / walk the pups and ate a massive lunch. Contractions slowed even more & by 9PM my doctor was comfortable with letting me take the monitors off to sleep and I sent DH home to sleep for the night. I woke up around 7 AM Saturday and asked if I could shower so I did and then we put the monitors back on. I ate some fruit and about 10 mins later my nurse came back in and said she was sorry I’d have to stop eating the fruit.... my doc didn’t like what she was seeing.... around 9 DH showed up & my contractions were every 3-4 minutes. Around 10 my doctor came in... she said “so, noon today.” We talked about possible complications so I opted for a C section. I’m glad I did because my little girl, baby b, was breach. I would have had to have had both kinds of birth! Ouch!! I’ll post stats / pics on the birth announcement thread.
Both babies are currently in the NICU. I got discharged on Wednesday and spent all day there yesterday. I’ll go back in the AM. I told DH he should still work as much as possible and not burn his PTO so he can be home with us when they come home. Right now we’re looking at 2-3 weeks of NICU time.
Monday morning my husband got w call from his dad saying that his mom was sick as he wanted to take her to the hospital . We live about 10min from them so he woke me up around 5 and said he would be back in 30 min. Long story short he called 30 min later and his mom had unexpectedly passed away . She had a block in her heart that prevented the blood to get to her brain . So of coarse DD and I rushed over there to be with him and Grampa. The next two days were extremely stressful with trying to figure out funeral arrangements etc . Wed I got released back to my normal ob since I hit the 32 week mark so my apt with her was at12. I talked about how I wanted my birth to go if possible option of my mom sister and DH in the or if everything was good , pleated for a natural birth and her compromise was to place a dry epidural in case we have an emergency c section . We went to lunch at extreme pizza and I went to the bathroom . After done peeing there was still a lot of water just pouring out . It took me a good minute to realize “ oh crap “ that’s my water !! So I calmly walked up to DH who was paying and said honey we need to go , well the register was broke of coarse and I told him my water just broke and him and the cashier freaked .. we got free lunch . As soon as I got to the hospital they tested the fluid and it was immediately black , they started magnesium to try and get me to last 48 hrs . By 6 I was tapped out at the most they could give me ( that crap is aweful makes you feel like you have the flu ) I have no idea how far apart my contractions were . When I was admitted I was a 5/6 cm dialated by 7 I was still at a 6, the. They checked me again because my contractions were very painful and I was almost an 8 . They all started freaking out told my husband to get his scrubs on ASAP and away we went to the or . I pushed through 2 contractions and Patrick was born they put him on my chest and delayed his cord clamp for 1 min then took him away . 5 min later and 1 more contraction Maverick was born, he got to be on my chest also for a min . There were probably 20 people in the room it was chaos . I didn’t tear this time so I was back in my room and I got to walk to go visit my boys about an he later .
Now
the good: both babies are head down now, and the girl is REALLY low, so that's what all the pressure is. The rest of the "aches and pains" are just from having 9 pounds of baby in there! Doc did the strep b test and also checked my cervix to see if things were progressing, but she said is was high and closed, so all-in-all, no pre-term labor yet. Just silly braxton hicks and the babies who keep kicking me in the rib cage and organs that make everything hurt. Their heart beats and organs and everything looked really good too.
the not (yet) "bad": when they measured the babies 4 weeks ago, the boy was 3lb 1oz and the girl was 3lb even...so, only a 1 oz difference. Today, the boy measured 17% (14 oz) larger than the girl, so there's a 3 week discrepancy between the 2 now. He's in the 87% percentile but she's in the 57% percentile (so she's still at least "average" size...)
Doc has now started me on weekly ultrasounds and biophysical profiles to monitor it, and in a week or two if it looks like she's not growing but the boy is, they'll send me to a MFM for a more detailed exam, and that report will determine if they will induce me then or let me try to wait it out to 37 weeks. we are at 32 weeks now and the babies are weighing 4lb 15oz and 4lb 1oz, so if they induce me at 34 or 35 weeks, my doc seems to think that they will fare pretty well. she did give a decently lengthy speech about all the scenarios and risks, etc, so of course my over-active imagination is on hyper drive tonight...oy.
At least i only have to wait until friday for more answers and (hopefully) piece of mind The following week I also have the first NST, so that'll be interesting as well!
@Mudge85 and @ecolton01 - thanks for updating us on everything! I'm so glad that the babies are all doing well at the moment, and hopefully will be a short nicu stay! @ecolton01 - so sorry for your loss and stressful week!
Thanks for updating us @Mudge85 and @ecolton01!!
So i guess it looks like there is only 2 more( @KLake42 and @caseyw8784 to have their twins and then ill be the only one in this group?? I hope that you both will update when that time comes..
@KLake42 you are so so close !! I hope your babies get to come home with you , since I am sure you are beyond miserable that should be your reward
