2WW/ Negative OPK/ HELP!!

TTC 2 years now - this is the second month I havent ovulated. The other month I can chalk up to stress because we were moving. Im concerned now. Its CD11 and I have short cycles - usually O on CD 10. But a few things happened this month:

1: I stopped taking fertilaid

2: I ran out of sperm friendly lube and used coconut oil. That didnt exactly leave me with an infection, but i did feel odd the next day. The day after that everything seemed back to normal. But I am wondering if a slight PH shift would cause anything

3. Last and most crazy - could I be pregnant? This is one of first months we started to BD CD 6. If we actually timed things right would that cause a negative OPK?

or is it just because Im old?

1. Read the "Newbies read this first" pinned post at the top of the page.
2. It's against the terms of use to ask if you're pregnant.
3. I don't know if you understand how opks work.

REPORTED. Read the Terms Of Use. It clearly states you cannot ask if you are pregnant.
If you have been TTC for 2yrs, please go to an RE for evaluation.
Despite the “coconut oil is great for EVERYTHING” hype, please discuss with your doctor the impact of putting food items in your lady bits.

Why in the world would you ask us if you are pregnant? Did someone tell you we have uterus goggles? There is a wonderful modern invention called a home pregnancy test. You can get them at Walmart for less than $1. It can tell you if you are pregnant. No one here can.

Please don’t barge into a group of women who are TTC without so much as an introduction or any background on yourself and throw all of these questions at us like we’re your personal Google. Let alone ask us if you’re pregnant! It’s against TOU, and really, we’re all not pregnant so we don’t know! Intro and jump into the dailies, and you’ll find that you get the support that you give.

And coconut oil?! Girl...

@jlc2017 I actually thought I was being kind instead of blunt and honest. Seriously- if you’ve been TTC 2 years, please talk to your doctors. Additionally, there can be serious ramifications of putting things like coconut oil in your vagina. Just as we are not able to diagnose you or your uterus, we cannot tell you if that is healthy or not. Read the top post “newbie guide”, lurk, read the terms of use, and go chat with your physician.

OP, as many of the other ladies have mentioned, it's against TOU to ask if you're pregnant. +1 recommend going to a doctor a) TTC for over a year b) anovulation for two cycles in a row and c) medical opinion regarding coconut oil as lube. I also recommend (as previously stated) reading the newbie guide if you plan to continue participating here.

Not even going to attempt to voice my personal opinion regarding the coconut oil. Although I gotta ask why in the world would you do that? Like... did you google alternative lube methods? Or just figure coconut oil is good lets give it a go? #morbidcuriousity

@lurvleybunchococonuts yeah im also wierdly curious about the coconut oil, like why? If you’re out of lube do you just start going through your kitchen cupboards trialling them all? Ketchup, mustard, olive oil, I may be the only one but I don’t think I’ve ever looked at a food product and thought you know what I’m gonna put this up my hoo haa

@craftyg omg... the visual in my head right now is making me spit out my coffee laughing. Please for the love of all that is good and sweet in the world don't test out the siracha/chalula/tabasco/hot sauce for lube alternatives. That's not what they mean by "spicing things up".

@lurvleybunchococonuts One time, as a young, immature, under-the-influence 18ish yr old, there was no lube. There was butter. And shampoo. I don’t recommend either. And for the record, I didn’t know he put on shampoo. I would never have went for that. Clearly, I knew how to pick ‘em.

I have heard of using coconut oil but I stick with non-food sperm friendly lube instead. It just seems like a bad plan.

Ok, maybe this is my UO, but coconut oil actually works pretty well as lube, it's just not sperm friendly for ttc. Which I know because there are actually research articles on the topic.

@darkstar42 I was telling Op to make sure to talk to her dr about it first before using it when TTC. I’ve seen articles (during non-ttc times) that is isnokay to use and ones that say it is not.

I’ve definitely heard of coconut oil as lube, but I’ve always heard that water based lubes are better for vaginal health. Personally if I’m going to use a non sperm-friendly lube, saliva is always available.

We've totally used coconut oil when we were in a tight spot before, and had no issues afterward!

Also, OP, you're a horrible person, and you obviously have no idea how OPKs work. They come with instructions. I suggest reading them.

And yes, you can have communities and gain friendships over the internet. This is 2017 - almost 2018! - and it's not uncommon to gain relationships of all types over the internet. Just because you have a hard time making friends doesn't mean others do. So.

@jrm_14 Oh totally, it's always a good idea to check with the doc! I'm weird and have allergic skin reactions to a LOT of products and a tendency to vaginal infection issues, so most lube is not a fun experience. For whatever reason, coconut oil works for me and doesn't cause any issues. But it's totally not a good idea for ttc!

Also, I always wonder if the OPs for drive by posts hang around and read what their thread turns into. Our discussions on lube, dessert recipes, noodles, etc. would give them a much better sense of the community here!
