Harry Styles just posted his tour dates on IG. Leon Bridges is opening! I want to go but they aren't coming to Utah I don't know if DH would agree to a vacation if it involved a Harry Styles concert.

@jrm_14 How about lava cakes? They are chocolate but if you add cream to the top it cuts through it and use milk instead of dark chocolate it’s not too overpowering. Or for a Christmas meal I’m bringing dessert to I’m gonna give this a go, it’s basically just a meringue topped with cream and berries but looks fancy.
@jrm_14 I made the pb&j pie for for thanksgiving, and it was the bomb. I added in pb chips throughout the berries, and it was perfect. I think I'm going to make it for every occasion I can Sooooo....make that! Our a plain cheesecake, and have a buffet of toppings for people to pick from...ie: caramel sauce, berries, etc.
@offtoneverland sorry girl! Didn't mean not to respond to your question. We just did spaghetti sauce with the spaghetti squash. And H made Italian seasoned chicken to go with it. It was delicious. Ooo... pad thai sounds great with spaghetti squash!

@jrm_14 I have a really easy cobbler recipe somewhere! You mix frozen berries, a can of apple pie filling, sugar and cinnamon, pour it in a casserole dish and then cover the top with sugar cookie dough! Serve warm with ice cream; it’s so good!
@offtoneverland I love spaghetti squash with pesto and Parmesan cheese!
Please no one get banned! The board really would be a dull place without you!
@offtoneverland Family drama is the worst. My family side should settle soon, but I know the MIL issues are never going away lol. I told MH that between his mother and the douche canoe bio mom from his son, I deserve a medal! lol
Oooh the Rockettes! I hope you have an awesome time. Only upside to our MIL drama, no shopping for them this year.
@mrs_drc_rn Oh cobbler! That's a great idea! I've never heard of putting sugar cookie dough on the top. Sounds really yummy. I've never thought of putting pesto in spaghetti squash. Thanks for the tip. @nitnat007 Yea for not having to shop for your MIL this year! lol @eleven_ I can't stop watching that gif of Harry Styles. That hair tho!
Just logged in to find myself warned as well For a Jenna Marbles gif, apparently.
@josie12367 That plain cheesecake with topping buffet is genius! I might try that during the holidays. @eleven_ That sharing thing during a meeting sounds so awkward and strange. I assume it's for team building? @offtoneverland I need slutty brownies in my life.
oh, and @josie12367 - we need an m&m update. How many pounds are left? What flavors have you tried? What have you liked best? Do you eat them all straight or put them in other things?
@jrm_14 Oh, I will gladly update! I still have like 10 pounds left. I haven't finished of a single bag, but my DH polished off the Strawberry Nut. I've tried the Candy Corn, White Pumpkin Spice, Coffee Nut, and Strawberry Nut. All were delicious, but the coffee flavour is by far my favourite.
The Candy Corn and White Pumpkin Spice are both white chocolate based, so if you don't like white chocolate, then stay away!
This is my sweets shelf...I've got chocolate for days!
@eleven_ - what do you mean by "sharing"? Is it like a work show-and-tell or just sharing something personal about yourself? You do this weekly??
@jrm_14 - I'm a fan of strawberry cake with cream cheese frosting. I much prefer a dark, rich chocolatey cake but when it's summertime I make the strawberry cake since it's cooler and lighter but still creamy and delicious.
@wishiwaspreggo It's pretty open. You can bring in something you've been working on like a craft or share pictures from a vacation you went on. One week I shared some pictures of our remodeled kitchen. Yes, it's every Monday and it goes alphabetically through all employees.

@jrm_14 hahaha I only got around to the chocolate caramel one, pecan, and pumpkin (aside from pot pies). So I'm no help atm. Although in the past I've made some kickass key lime pie <---sooo good. And cherry pie... or apple pie? And my grandma used to make a "cheese pie" (think cheese cake in a graham cracker crust). Mmm... I might need to make pie this weekend

@eleven_ - Wow, I'm a hardcore introvert so that would be a ton of pressure for me. Especially because I don't do much outside of work that's "share"-worthy! I spend most of my free time cooking, cleaning, running errands, or, if I'm able to finish all my domestic duties before I collapse into bed, watching Netflix.
@wishiwaspreggo I am the same way. I am an extreme introvert and I especially hate public speaking. I like reading a lot and I thought of maybe sharing some of my favorite books. I vetoed that because I'd have to talk about what each book is about and DNW to do that.

*hugs* @eleven_ I feel ya. I craft but my crafting is NSFW. I like to cross-stitch inappropriate things and make samplers for my friends. I'm designing a tapestry that reads:
Friend: You should be more feminine. Me: Suck my dick.
The first line will be in black thread, normal font. The "suck my dick" will be in glittery magenta thread with swirly cursive font. And of course, it will be surrounded by vines and flowers. It's for my friend who is a butch. She's going to die laughing - I can't wait to give it to her but it's going to take forever because I want it to be a large wall hanging.
But my god, I would be so embarrassed to share that with my colleagues!
Fi’s gone for a few days so I thought I’d just have a nice glass of wine, watch friends and catch up on the bump. Somehow forgot that the only thing I’ve eaten today is a packet of crisps and I’m just under a glass in and already pretty damn buzzed, why do I do this to myself
*ETA that sounded like I was annoyed at myself, very much not, very much having a great evening
I also want to make this just because it's such a cruel thing to say but it's presented so prettily. I'm a chunky food lover and I have a warped sense of humor. I need to give credit to Jonathan Adler because he's the original designer. However, it was removed from the market because it's offensive so... guess I'll just have to stitch it myself.
Put a spoiler on it because... well, TW eating disorders just in case.
@eleven_ Ugh I would hate a grown up show & share. No thanks.
@wishiwaspreggo That cross stitch is hilarious! I love things like that. They'd be perfect for my brother's gf.
Y'all, my brunch ended up not being so fabulous. Spoiler because pregnancy and kids.
I liked seeing my high school girls but two brought they're littles (I knew in advance) and that's all they talked about. Then one of them announced she's six weeks pregnant. Based on other convos, my BFF and I were able to quickly deduce she got it first try. Just like her first. Ugh. I am happy for her but today when I started clomid was not the day I wanted to receive that news. I made it to the car before crying. I can't even drink my feelings away because that + clomid would probably have me vomming all night.
@SkilledSailor *hugs* I'm so sorry that your brunch was crappy. It's so hard to see babies and hear about pregnancies and be like, yeah, I'm taking fertility drugs. I'm pretty sure eating chocolate doesn't interfere with clomid though, so how about brownies instead of drinks?
Sorry to hear that, @SkilledSailor - it's a letdown when you're expecting to have fun and then don't I second the chocolate for sure. Hot brownies and milk make things better.
@SkilledSailor girl, I know that feel (Clomid and all). I highly suggest combining the caramel M&Ms with the pretzel ones, for a little salt and crunch.

Ladies, I need advice on how to respond to an email. I emailed a close friend to tell her that we'd been ttc and about our IF diagnosis, because I was feeling crappy about it all and couldn't handle the phone conversation. Her response was trying to be supportive (I guess), but was basically like, I'm sorry you're frustrated, 8 months doesn't seem that long to me, try not to stress. Which obviously wasn't helpful to me. I haven't responded yet, but I do need to. How do I keep things friendly and relatively snark-free but communicate that what she said really minimized the pain of everything I'm dealing with and was kind of offensive? It's important to me to keep this friendship.
@darkstar42 I was discussing something similar with a friend his afternoon about how people say things they thinks are helpful but are not. Most people aren’t trained in sensitivity and how to say things right. And those of us that are, still say things wrong. I can tell how important she is to you by reaching out to her, wanting to let her know her response was hurtful, and by wanting to be respectful and kind in your response. “I really appreciate you responding and being supportive. It is difficult when due to my age and other factors, the most common guidelines of 12 months cuts in half to 6 months. I’m confident that my RE believes that we are to the point of needing assistance due to IF. Your friendship & listening is very important to me. I don’t expect you to always know the best thing to say or y best way to support me in this difficult journey. However, I am so glad we are friends and you are willing to listen ❤️“
@darkstar42 I don’t mean to play devils advocate but something I’ve been looning at in therapy recently is about seeing comments that I think are insensitive from a different point of view. Do you think that if you tried to look at it with a fresh pair of eyes you could see some of the lines she’s saying more positively? Also agree with everything that @jrm_14 has said
@SkilledSailor ugh, I’m sorry lunch didn’t go well. I know that feel; being upset is totally justified. I’m sending you creepy internet hugs and since you can’t indulge in alcohol, get yourself all the chocolate tonight!
@darkstar42 ugh, I’m sorry you’re having to go through writing this email. I like what @jrm_14 suggested. Just make sure you’re straightforward with her about how she made you feel. Maybe remind her that it may not seem long to her, but it is to you and telling you to not stress is not entirely helpful. You just need her to listen and be supportive.
@CraftyG - I really try to look at people's comments from both angles, sometimes it takes a lot of looking though.... I think most people that we have relationships with love us and aren't trying to sting us with words. I know that is NEVER my intention. Just recently after the hell we've been through a friend said "cheers to your troubles" I have mentioned that comment before.... I know he didn't mean it maliciously and I'm extra sensitive right now... I get what he was trying to say but choose your words better man..... I really liked @jrm_14 's response. I wish I could think of things to say like that on the fly.
@jrm_14 Thank you, that is very well-phrased. I really appreciate your help! @CraftyG You're right, I do see in her email that she's trying to be optimistic for me, and I do appreciate that and want to acknowledge that in my reply. I know there was absolutely zero intent of being hurtful. Intent does not always equal impact though, as I always tell my students. @SkilledSailor@mrs_drc_rn@galactickates Thank you for the support!
