Happy Thanksgiving, y'all!

How far along are you? 9+5

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Feeling pretty good. Mostly uncomfortable/nauseated after 6:00 PM. I must be pretty sentimental right now. I started uncontrollably crying at the start of the Thanksgiving Day Parade...

Any appointments this week/coming up soon? No more appointments until early December.

Any questions? Are you guys looking at having a crib when you bring baby home? I'm planning on having them in a double bassinet thing by my bed for the first few months, so I'm not sure if I need to spend ALL THE MONEY on cribs now, or if I should just wait until closer to time.

GTKY: What would you be drinking today on Thanksgiving if it were safe to drink alcohol during pregnancy? Oh god...I'd be enjoying a great pinot noir or an oaky chardonnay. However, I'm taking all the fixings for cranberry moscow mules and just pretending there is vodka in mine!

How far along are you? 12+5 (but ultrasound yesterday said 13+1 sooo)

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? good! I think I've officially skipped the nausea portion of this ride. And I think I'm starting to notice a litttttle bit of a bump if I'm naked. But I can't see a difference if I'm wearing pants so it might be in my head.

Any appointments this week/coming up soon? Had NT ultrasound yesterday, and I have my 12/13 week appt with my OB next week since it was too complicated to schedule the NT and the OB visit on the same day during Thanksgiving week.

Any questions? Not right now...

GTKY: What would you be drinking today on Thanksgiving if it were safe to drink alcohol during pregnancy? WINE SO MUCH WINE ALL THE WINE... ideally a super bold zinfandel....

@LaceyBee522 def no crib for us. Apt is too small for that isht, and we're trying to GTFO. Going to try using the Uppababy Vista basinet with the stand as their sleep space, and if that doesn't work might try the Halo. Trying to minimize how much stuff I buy before baby gets here, especially since it's sooo easy to get stuff quickly here in NYC. (If we were in a forever house, I'd probably have a different opinion since then I'd want to have fun with nursery setup, etc.) Oh, have you heard of the Doona carseat/stroller combo? Realize it might not be as convenient for you with twins, but seems like a great option for us city folk who aren't using cars that often but have to sometimes (and also absurdly have to have carseats to bring baby home even if we're walking them home lol).

@LaceyBee522 I had my worst nausea when I was 9 wks and always in the afternoon/evening. We are getting a crib right away. Even if you room share at night it might be good to start introducing them to the crib for naps to ease the transition. But obvi whatever works best for you. It might just be nice to have the option if you can

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Physically I’ve had some cramping and constipation. Emotionally it’s a bit much because we’ve been telling more people over the holiday and I’m excited that people are excited for us but it still makes me anxious especially with the cramping this morning.

Any appointments this week/coming up soon? Second appointment on Dec 8th.

Any questions? Did you ask for the NT scan or do they just do it? I’m not exactly sure what to expect at my 12 wk appointment

GTKY: What would you be drinking today on Thanksgiving if it were safe to drink alcohol during pregnancy? Probably beer. We brought some MN craft beers to WI for family. My sister doesn’t know yet and when she finds out today I’m sure she’ll be upset her drinking buddy is out for the count.

@krashke lolz I have lived in NYC long enough to know that one does not venture outside on Thanksgiving. I'm also not very close to the parade

As far as the NT scan, I wasn't given a choice. My OB knew I was doing Mat21, so I guess technically she could have said I didn't need the NT scan, but she had me schedule it. It was with the radiology dept instead of with her, so it was a separate appointment. Typically they'd try to schedule it so my 12 week appointment is back to back with that, but it was too complicated with Thanksgiving. So.... IDK? I mean, do you know how your OB's office handles in-depth ultrasounds? Like, my 8 week was transvaginal in with my OB, but I think NT and anatomy are with radiology.

physically, not horrible. Just.want.to.like.food.agaaaaiiin.
emotionally, alittle nervous again. Anxious for my apt wed for a doppler check

seeing my endocrinologist on mon. Gonna find out when to do my 1hr glucose, uuughh. Then next OB on Wednesday.

Probably just water lol. Didn't really drink at fam functions before pregnancy.

@laceybee522 with DS, I had to have his nursery completely set before we had him. Sheets on bed and everything... then he slept in our room till he was 5 months old lol.
this baby's room need a renovation and I told DH I'm not even rushing it. Baby won't even use the room till next fall anyway. I like them next to my side of the bed.

@doxiemoxie212 it's not in your head! I feel I look bigger cause I have pudge. But even if that wasn't there, if I run my hand over my pelvic area, it's absolutely bumped out now! Other ppl probably can't tell, but i can.
And if you're that thin, it'd be noticeable on you... even just to you.

@krashke lol trailblazers. The more people we tell, the more I notice the anxiety. So you aren't alone!
With this one, I told them I wanted mat21. But with my first, my dr asked me about it.

@catlady1215 yea some people say I’ll def show early since I’m thin (and esp the front of my stomach; I put weight on at my armpits, chin and lower back; never my stomach lol) but then other people say I’ll show late because I’m 5’8 with a long torso? But I’m excited to show. I want to get this show on the road!

GTKY: What would you be drinking today on Thanksgiving if it were safe to drink alcohol during pregnancy? We were with my family yesterday and they don’t drink. In an ideal situation, Riesling or Pinot Gris.

@doxiemoxie212 the first change you’ll notice is that your uterus can be felt above your pelvic bone. I now have a hard bump right above it.

@LaceyBee522 - I cried a dozen times during the parade! Everything was setting me off! We're planning on a crib for when baby is brought home. We agreed on a convertible one that would grow with them so we don't have to worry about buying another bed for however many years.
@krashke - If you want the NT scan done, and they don't say anything about it, then just ask. My OB went through everything that I'd have done testing/ultrasound wise over the next 30 weeks, but didn't make the orders out, because our radiology dept usually has openings every day (we have two: one in the hospital where the OB office is that's appts and walk-ins, and one behind the hospital that's appts only and takes better pictures). So scheduling the u/s and my appts around the same times/same day won't be a huge issue for us. But, with anything - if you want it done, just ask.

I'm jealous of those of you who can feel the start of a bump. It's the only thing I regret not having gotten farther with before getting pregnant: weight loss.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Physically exhausted. Headaches. Blah. Emotionally, I cry all the time over everything.

Any appointments this week/coming up soon? 3-ish weeks, which will be my ~13 week appt. I'll be asking about NIPT and the NT scan.

GTKY: What would you be drinking today on Thanksgiving if it were safe to drink alcohol during pregnancy?
I actually don't usually drink on Thanksgiving. I'm usually the one who drives us home, and even if I'm not, I'm not that comfortable in front of H's family to drink. I would love to, because they're all insane, but, I don't.

@marcus7676 - I thought about asking earlier. I work in the neighboring office on Monday, so I may stop by on my lunch break and talk to the front staff ladies. I'm boycotting the call center, so I won't call unless I absolutely need to.

Thanks guys for your crib/nursery info. Just talked with MH about timelines at lunch today. We are currently in a one bedroom and with two cribs we will defs have to move before I can get anything set up.

So a bunch of people got TOU violations from the drive by on TTGP but I just couldn't let that one go. I am thanking my lucky stars because that would have been the death of krashke. From what it looks like no one got banned.
