NT scan tomorrow at 4pm ET (I’m sure everyone will be super happy to still be working at 4pm the day before thanksgiving lol). I’m a little nervous that they won’t tell us anything there since it’s not with our OB, it’s with radiology and then we see our ob next week to discuss but alas. I suppose if anything is reaaaally bad they’ll have to tell us then right?
12 week appointment yesterday. Everything was good besides DD grabbing one of the Pap smear swab sticks off the exam table and using it as a magic princess wand . He brought in the portable ultrasound so we could peek at baby again! I will have another appointment and ultrasound to recheck the subchorionic hemorrhage in 4 weeks.
My OB appt that was supposed to be last Friday was rescheduled right before I left for appt to tomorrow as her baby was sick. I guess if anyone will be sympathetic about a sick kid it's an expecting mom right? Anyways, (hopefully) meeting her for first time and I think I'm getting a pap.
Had NT ultrasound yesterday so cool and decided to move forward with the Counsyl prelude genetic testing!
10 week appt yesterday, which was also my first appt. I got to see the baby! They had originally told me that I wouldn't get another ultrasound since I had one at 5 weeks, but the Dr did one right there. I even got a picture! Yay.
12 week appointment (a little early) yesterday. Everything went well. Got to see the baby again and hear the heartbeat. I'm going to be waiting a little longer for my next appt because my Dr is changing practices and I'd rather just wait and see her at her new office in January. The one bonus of that is that by then we might be able to find out the sex! FX

Had my first new OB (aka "you're officially pregnant, let's chat now") appt today. I learned nothing new, got a free book and a bunch of brochures and stuff, and she couldn't find the HB on the doppler, but I'm also just shy of 10 weeks, so I wasn't surprised. I go back in 4 weeks, and then I'll probably get NIPT done at that point depending on what my insurance has for possible coverage. She said my u/s put my EDD as one day behind what I've had it at, so she wants to go with that, so I'm actually 9+4 today and have an EDD of 6/23. Oh well!
I’m heading in this afternoon to get checked out about some abdominal pain. The nurse seemed to think it was normal RLP but was nice enough to offer for me to come in to ease my mind.
My first appointment will be tomorrow at 10+2. Really no idea what to expect but pretty sure there will be no ultrasound since that is normally handled in the radiology section and they make their own appointments.
Hope the appointment goes well, and it's nothing to be concerned about @dinodna3.

Second Son - born 2014 - Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) and Double Outlet Right Ventricle (DORV). First open heart surgery at 5 days old. He's had 3 open heart surgeries and several other procedures and is currently doing amazing. Third Son - due June 9, 2018
FX @dinodna3! I love that they let you come in to ease your mind.... too often dr office's are just so dismissive so things that appear to be normal to them, like RLP.
I am going in tomorrow morning at 7am for my NT scan. TW I found out about both my mmc during this u/s so it brings a lot of anxiety for me TW. After the NT we see the doctor for the my 12 week appointment and then head downstairs to the lab for my NIPT. I used my home doppler this morning, so I'm hoping that everything looks normal and healthy tomorrow. I'm also hoping that DH, DD and I can get out of the house in time to make it to my 7am appointment.
US went smoothly today. I think it is finally sinking in for MH, which makes me feel better. Was weird to see them as human-ish looking after just seeing little blobs the first couple of times. Next appointment is December 7 for the Nuchal.
I had my second ultrasound today and everything looked beautiful! It looks like a little baby now and was really active. I can see the little fingers and toes on one of the ultrasound pics. I was so worried, and the relief I feel is almost overwhelming. We got to hear the heartbeat (I took a video and it's all I've been watching), and we gave our parents the go ahead to tell people so the word is spreading haha. When I got home from the appointment I had a package of maternity jeans waiting at my door, which almost made me cry.

@LaceyBee522 i saw your ultrasound and immediately got curious if you guys have a preference on same sex or b/g? I’m debating in my head if a preference would be the same as a sex preference, but there are actual tangible differences to one or the other right? Like, same sex they’ll be able to share clothes much longer. But b/g every caregiver will be able to tell them apart (obv hoping for healthy babies, yada yada) hope that’s not too personal a question.
Thanks everyone. Baby’s heartbeat sounded good (165). The midwive felt around and didn’t feel anything that was worrisome. I’m thankful they were able to fit me in today, it was nice piece of mind going into the holiday. I’m guess carrying around these two toddlers all the time is causing more muscle tenderness than my previous pregnancies.
@doxiemoxie212 My preference changes pretty much daily. The only thing that really scares me is two boys. And I'm not afraid of the baby part of two boys, rather the pre-pubescent/pubescent stage of two boys. Lol! We're still Team Green and I think we'll stay that way - I want everything as gender neutral as possible, so hopefully they'll be able to share clothes even if it turns out to be boy/girl.
My only constant preference is that at least one of them has to have my red hair. I'm not confident it will happen as my husband is Spanish and I think his genes are going to overpower my poor Irish ones.
@LaceyBee522 oh man yea, DH and his brothers used to go at it. DH has so many scars from fighting with his brothers in small nyc apts lol. His mom still talks about the day she realized the boys had gotten too big for her to be able to intervene lol.
And you might be surprised by the red hair. DH has a friend whose dad is black, mom is German. Friend looks half black but his brother looks black but with bright red hair! So anything can happen.
Have you seen the research on red heads by the way? Apparently the same mutation that causes red hair also causes a higher tolerance to sedation meds, temperature sensitivity (or is it insensitivity?) and something else. I forget. But it’s so interesting!
My next appointment was supposed to be 11/30 for NIPT, but I have been feeling so weak, tired, and I can barely eat because everything makes me sick, etc so I called in yesterday and they had me come in. The OB basically said I’m doing great, not to worry about things, and to focus on hydration. She also found the HB on the Doppler, and was super excited because I am 10w3d (yesterday) and she said she is about 50/50 on finding the HB that early. She also did my NIPT blood draw yesterday instead of having me wait until 11/30, and gave me a form to get a more extensive US done since I’m over 35 (sounds like a very detailed scan, to include the NT). I also got an Rx for diclegis, which I started last night and I definitely feel better today and have eaten more than I have in weeks, and have been guzzling Gatorade. I think it’s hilarious the diclegis has a pregnant woman on it!
Just got back from the longest doctor appointment in the history of the world. NT scan looked good- the tech said she saw everything she was suppose to see and all measurements looked normal. We then moved on the the 12 week appointment and got more lab work to be done in a month. Finally we went to the lab and I had my blood work done for my NIPT. I'm so excited to find out the sex in 10 days... especially after having the NT scan come back with normal results. Happy Thanksgiving ladies and good luck with all of your appointments this week!
My appointment was changed at the last minute. Because of some bleeding I had earlier this week doctor decided I should have another ultrasound before my initial ob. Baby looked good and heartbeat was 162. I now get to have my ob appointment on the 30th and another very in depth ultrasound (I think 3D) on Dec. 15th.
NT scan went great! DH and I nearly panicked at first because the tech was taking still shots (but we didn't know that) so it just looked like an unmoving blob for a while, and then finally she just let it roam so we could see everything lol. She was really nice, she took a bunch of photos for us and answered all our weird questions about where it was positioned, where the placenta was attached, etc. Baby kept hiccuping and playing with his/her nose which was cute. Wouldn't cooperate well for the 3D pics, tho lol. Alas, unphotogenic like his/her mother.
(And FYI, again, they didn't care at all about my bladder. So for those of you who are very thin, don't stress about drinking sooooo much water ahead of time. They seem to never care, and literally asked me if I wanted to empty my bladder first so I'd be more comfortable, lol.)
They were running 30 minutes behind for my NT scan and I told them I couldn't hold it anymore so the receptionist told me to go to the bathroom and drink more water- but the US tech said I didn't actually need to drink more water.
We had a Perfect NT scan, such an amazing Thanksgiving present!!!
