Fit Mom Friday 11/17

Morning!

I have missed all three of my usual yoga classes this week, but I did get in a PiYo class yesterday. I'm definitely losing PiYo stamina, but my instructor knows that I'm a little pregnant, so she doesn't give me too much crap if I skip a section to go pee.

Now I'm looking on YouTube for a decent prenatal yoga flow, any suggestions?

  • Good morning! Not much here other than one soul cycle class this week and a few walks  :(
Going jogging Saturday morning with a friend, it's our weekly thing.

Oh! You just reminded me that I friend offered to be a walking buddy (she offered before I got the BFP), and I should take her up on it.
Unfortunately I might be part lizard, cold makes me slow and sleepy, I can only move well in heated areas  :#

This cracks me up. My husband calls me his little lizard because I hate cold things touching me and love snuggling up on something warm. I used to hug the wall heater at our old place lol.

Yay for walking buddies, take your friend up on the offer :)

  • didnt work out much this week but I will be very active this weekend at my second job

  • I managed 3 work outs this week. I need to add back in some light jogging but DD has been refusing to sit in the bob jogger lately.
  • Have had a terrible workout week-gotten some good long walks in but otherwise falling behind my plan :/ hoping to have a better weekend and get some stretching/strength in!
  • Skipped my Monday workout because I've never felt so gross in all my life. Made it to two others, and hopefully making it to tomorrow's workout. So tired all the time, but working out seems to help with the energy and also keep nausea at bay. If anyone has a rec for a really sturdy sports bra for busty ladies, my go-to is just no longer enough and I really hate to double bra! My boobs can't take the jumping in my workouts, haha. It sucks having to take the intensity down a notch, a few workout friends have noticed and I'm not ready to tell them why!
  • I haven't done anything this week...been too nauseated and too tired!

  • This is my first time posting in this check-in!  I have been doing well with keeping up with my workouts over the last few months and have been happy with my progress but now I'm sure I need to change it up.  I had been doing HIIT workouts on the treadmill and I'm sure it's not great to get your heart rate up that high, right?  This week I just went to my weekly yoga class and ran/walked 2 miles on the treadmill, and did a couple of my usual ab and butt workouts from the YouTube channel, Blogilates.  I'd love suggestions of other YouTube channels for prenatal workouts and yoga if you know of any!  I am running my first 5k on Saturday, which I signed up for a couple months ago.  So I'm just going to focus on getting through it and I'm not as concerned about my time.

  • Same as above. Hasn't been a good workout week for me. Hoping to be more active this coming week especially with Thanksgiving coming up.

  • I got 12 miles in this week! Not back to normal, but I feel better for at least getting out there. I have to figure out this boob situation, though. They're so much bigger, and it's already a challenge for me to find sports bras that contain my breasts, and I don't want to buy something new knowing how boobs fluctuate, so it's just getting frustrating. Thinking of cutting back on running and getting back into more regular pilates just to avoid the issue until I have to face it.
  • Hi all! Im gonna try to be more fit than i was with my previous two pregnancies. Right now I am eating what I want because coming up here in the next few weeks its typical for me to not want to eat anything! I freaked out and stopped working out because I was worried the high intensity of 21 day fix + running was a problem for TTC, but it was only for the last couple weeks or so. I hope to jump back on the bandwagon and get some workouts in 3-4 days a week. I do walks 5 days a week with the dogs and a hiking day with DS in the middle of the week, but I found some Beachbody Prenatal workouts that I'll probably throw in there because while I am not a die hard beachbody person, I really love the short workouts!
  • @smashjam I really liked those prenatal workouts last time! I'd forgotten! I'm not a huge beach body person either, but I did like those. Thanks for the reminder.
  • Long walk with a heavy double stroller today. Finally got back to a gym class this week and I think I'm starting to feel less paranoid about working out. I'm going to try to get myself back to running this weekend. I feel like I'm probably not going to go too crazy with it until after my ultrasound, though. I did, however, get back to my healthy eating habits, so I feel good about that, at least!

  • I've been totally slacking! Worked out last Saturday and immediately threw up.. Just did the beach body prenatal yoga today - super easy so not much of a workout, but the stretching felt nice! Might go to the gym with DH after work and do light cardio/weights.

  • Monday - legs (squats and hamstring leg curls)
    Tuesday - shoulders and abs
Thursday - cardio / full body weight movmt (im sore, so a lil of everything.)
Today - hoping for a solid 30min roll out sess and maybe some light lifting.
*My hip flexors are a mess.  Just getting back into my routine after a bad month.
  • I did Pilates on Monday... then, Nada
  • I’ve bren super sick with a cold...and very lazy too haha. So I’m going to the gym today after a week off. I was going to the gym 3-4 times a week and am honestly just trying for once a week right now. I’m going to try going twice a week until that becomes a habit again and then reevaluate.
  • I made it to Crossfit twice this week and just went on a 2 mile run. I am starting to feel sluggish. I told my coaches I was pregnant so are going to help me modify and scale my workouts.
  • I use Fitness Blender workouts on YouTube. They are awesome! I've been doing more of their low-impact modifications, mainly because my boobs hurt when I jump around too much.
  • Just finished my first 5k this morning with my best time so far!

@noideawhatshesdoing I really like Yoga with Adriene but didn't realize she had prenatal yoga videos.  I'll have to check them out!
@MrsMiller8588 and others doing Beachbody workouts.  Do you have to pay for those?  I've never tried Beachbody so I'm not sure how that works.

  • Made it to the gym three times this week, which is my goal! Did cardio twice and body pump once. Gonna try to match that next week but we’re leaving for my parent’s for the holiday Wednesday so we’ll see if I can cram it in. I might even go tomorrow, which is unheard of for me, but my husband is working everyday this week and I need to be around people who aren’t 3.

  • @christycalifornia I'm with you on the boob issue. Why do they have to hurt so bad?! I dread taking the bra off at the end of the day. Had to bag this morning's workout because I couldn't take the pain. Never been preggers before, but was already a 32g before, now I'm terrified.Tempted to start looking up chest wrapping techniques because the sports bra world can't seem to contain my girls!
  • @Sarafuss yeah you pay per month for them. There is usually a free trial so you can see if you like it though, like, two weeks maybe? And I think its 10-15 a month.
  • @noideawhatshesdoing dude. Chest wrapping! I didn't even think of that! I'm going to look into it.
  • All I managed to do this past week is walk and stretch. But, starting this week off promising. Got in a gym workout (cardio & arms) before grocery shopping today.

  • I am really trying this pregnancy to be more fit. The last two I was so lazy. I am doing yoga and did it 3 times last week. Hoping to do 5 times this week.
  • @christycalifornia I ended up desperate enough to try something called Buband for my workouts. Game changer. No bounce, no pain and two successful workouts so far! May not work for everyone, but thought I'd share the results of my searches.
  • Doing Beachbody on Demand workouts 3 to 5 times a week. I hope to continue that throughout the pregnancy. I’ve lost 20 lbs since March and really want to have a fit pregnancy :)
  • @ashbub714 do you do the regular ones or the pregnancy ones? I was doing 21 day fix and others and quit about 3 weeks before my BFP because I was worried I was affecting TTC, but wanna jump back in, although nothing too high intensity.
  • @SmashJam I’ve been doing the normal ones. I assumed since I was doing them before pregnancy I could continue. I’ll probably lessen intensity and modify as I get further along but I think it’s ok to continue normal exercise. I just won’t increase the weight I’m lifting and be mindful of my heart rate. I’m going to doublecheck with my doctor at my first appointment though. The prenatal ones sound great for later along in pregnancy.
  • @noideawhatshesdoing I love yoga with Adrienne!!

This is my first check in here! To be honest I’ve been SO LAZY and tired and sick that aside from walking have done nothing. I’m starting to feel better (yay!) so want to get back into workouts. I love yoga and Pilates, and often find myself doing yoga YouTube videos during naptime, haha! Those videos saved me, and my back, last pregnancy!!!! :)
