I don't know if these are more of a thing of the past, but what is you and your SO's song? It could be from when you were dating or your wedding song. Bonus points for GIFs!!
Ours is "Maybe I'm Amazed" by Paul McCartney, but we picked "Can't Help Falling In Love" by Elvis because MH thought it fit our 50s/60s "theme" better. Edited because I'm an idiot and put the wrong title. Oops.
Me, 35 Hubs, 32 Married June 2012 BFP June 2013- blighted ovum, D&C Aug 2013 BFP Oct 2013- twins! A&H born May 2014 BFP Aug 2017- EDD 5/8/17
When we were dating we were just going off to college, actually for the exact same profession, but different schools. Our song when we were dating was Richard Marx's "Right Here Waiting." After being together for a while we grew attached to "Chasing Cars" by Snow Patrol, oh, college love....until Grey's Anatomy ruined it.
Hmmm that's tough. Our taste in and love for music is how we became friends initially. We've never really had one song because there are just too many!
I walked down the aisle to an instrumental version of "Swing Life Away" by Rise Against. Id say that's a good contender.
We had a moment during a Flaming Lips concert where we both realized that something strange/scary/awesome was going on between us so I like to consider "Do You Realize" as one of our songs.
Later that night, we listened to Michael Kiwanuka and had another "omg this is real" moment and his song "Bones" was our first dance at our wedding. No good GIFs of Michael, sorry!
We met at a music festival so we had a lot of music-related moments that week.
We don’t have a song. Our music taste is pretty different. We didn’t even dance at our wedding haha. We had to leave for our flight to our honeymoon at 9 pm so there was only time for the ceremony, some appetizers and cake, and grabbing the money envelopes before we had to leave.
Our song is Wake Up by Coheed and Cambria. We danced to the instrumental version at our wedding. The funny thing is it’s actually a very painful breakup song, but it’s still very fitting for the two of us and what we’ve been through together.
(This gif is from a different Coheed song but his hair is still love)
Kidding... kidding. Although we used to joke the cover of 99 problems by Hugo was going to be our first dance at our wedding. Instead it was “Can’t Help Falling In Love” by Elvis (but played live by our friend).
Our wedding song was "Today" by Joshua Radin. We also love "Worlds apart" by Joshua Radin and "Stone" by Alessia Aara. That's all I can think of right now, but I know there is more.
And....now I'm listening to "Worlds Apart" and tearing up....damn pregnancy hormones.
@ivyvines6 love that song! It was my song with a college bf.
Our song, even if you ask him, is the apple bottom jeans song. I have no idea why, or how it became that but it's something we both laugh about especially when people ask what's your song. I also have no idea who even sings the song. DH did say it was inappropriate to use as a wedding song, so he picked something else out, and I don't really remember what it was maybe Marry Me by Train? . I just told him it couldn't be these terrible 80s songs he loves with Kenny Rogers and Lionel Richie.
@jhysmath, DH requested Whistle at our wedding to dance with me to after our first dance. Super inappropriate, but he loved watching me joke around and dance to it at home. Now I hear it and get all sappy about our wedding. What a dumb song to feel sentimental over!
@jhysmath speaking of terrible 80s songs one of our favs, which we played very loudly at our wedding btw, is "take me home tonight" by Eddie Money. Complete with signature 80s saxophone solo lol
@suchaglencoco lol that's hilarious. Definitely a strange one to be sentimental over but with your story it totally makes sense
Our official song is Ed Sheeran, Thinking Out Loud../ but also the Rubber Ducky Song. DH was being silly and singing it while I was in the shower one day and I realized I was totally in love with him in that moment...

SNAP holli!!! Also Ed Sheeran's song Thinking Out Loud!
On one of our early days, we karaoked to friends in low places. At a bar in ny so no one sang along or anything. It was also the first song we each sang to DD1. Just the first thing that popped into Our heads.
When we were dating for a few months, we went to Florida. Amazed by lonestar canned on and we started holding hands. I told him that couldn't be our song because it was the sing I wanted to get engaged to. He agreed for the same reason. He proposed to the song and danced to it at our wedding. We did a while choreographed dance and thought we were awesome. We watched the video a few years later and we're totally embarrassed about it.
Re: 11/21 GTKY- What's your "song?"

For our twins, my song with them is Can't Help Falling In Love by Elvis. I used to sing it to them all the time when I'd rock them to sleep.
