Gift Ideas for L&D Staff

What are you or have you gotten as gifts for the L&D staff? I'm thinking maybe some nice lotion or gift cards for the midwives.

Re: Gift Ideas for L&D Staff

  • I’m baking a bunch of cookies for each shift while we are going to be there. I bought a bunch of dough from a kids fundraiser I wouldn’t eat myself anyway so I can kill 2 birds with 1 stone on this one. Since I’m being induced next Wednesday I’m just going to bake everything Tuesday and take it with us. I am also doing some for my pediatrician and OB

  • I’ve heard taking things that are easy to grab on the go are appreciated-like mini muffins, pastries, cupcakes, etc. we didn’t take anything when my first was born and although it may sound mean, I’m glad we didn’t because I didn’t have the greatest experiences with the nurses
  • I am going to get a thank you card and some chocolates to drop off to the L&D wing of the hospital.
  • We got a huge box of granola bars and a large bag of chocolates. I was going to throw in some individual instant coffee, but they usually have coffee running around the L&D section, so it seemed a little excessive. It isn't expected, but it is a nice gesture. This will be my third child at this hospital and the other two experiences were great, so I have no reason to believe this one won't be just as good.

  • I don't think I would do anything ordinarily, but it's going to be Thanksgiving when I'm there and it sucks that they have to work. Plus, I want some especially good care since I have bleeding issues and I'm a little worried about that. I might make candy bags with leftovers from Halloween and our baby shower.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*

Left over Halloween candy in November? That would have been gone within days of Halloween in my house, lol.

  • Haha @cwalker042... the bag suddenly disappeared into DH's car when he started stressing over his promotion test (which was yesterday). We didn't get any trick-or-treaters. I was in the hospital four times with prodromal labor, so I kind of have gotten to know some of the staff. If it was just random strangers, I probably wouldn't bring anything.
