  • @Gingermom15 I don't think I even understand the point of the dock a tot.... it looks like a pillow.

  • @heatherdubrow that's what it looks like to me too, or crib bumpers you wrap around your baby...
My sister was a premie(28 weeks) and she had something like this kind of (but it was made out of lambs wool type stuff) to help her sleep since she still should have been in utero. Maybe the same concept?

  • When it comes to baby sleep, I never say never.  I never thought we would rock n play for sleep, and I never thought I'd sleep train (later on), but that's life at our house!

I agree though, I don't understand how the dockatot is safe either, but people swear by it.

My son slept in a rnp for 6 months due to horrible reflux, as well

It looks way too easy for a baby to roll and put their face into the side of the DAT, though. He had rolled blankets tucked around him during his nicu stay, but as soon as he was released I took them away. He was an awful sleeper but I wasn’t comfortable with the set up

  • @Gingermom15 I'm so with you on that one.  DAT is not safe - even the company states in a few places that it shouldn't be placed in the parents bed, shouldn't be placed in a crib, and a baby shouldn't be left in it without direct supervision (aka when the parent is sleeping).  So people are pretty much using it how it shouldn't be used.

  • @vflux33 maybe an UO, but I have come to the conclusion that most people really don't want the truth.  That's been a hard reality for me to grasp over the years, because I feel like without truth you can't be objective, and I want to live an authentic life even if it gets messy at times.  But, it's reality and I need to adapt and get over it better.

  • @DDRRT1982 @cdford08 Yeah, I think you're both right. I guess I've been a bit spoiled in that the people closest to me in my life really do want the truth, so I get used to telling it how it is, and then inevitably wind up in situations where I miss the secret memo where everyone decided to lie for a perceived-- usually short-lived and superficial-- benefit just because no one wanted to actually have the conversation/debate/dialogue that they said they were having.
