@meggyme I don't think I've ever had collard greens! I hear about them a lot. I need to try them. And that's very true, Thanksgiving here is definitely far enough away from Christmas that it is its own holiday entirely.
I love the rolls, and the mashed potatoes and gravy. Gravy on everything, including the turkey! I so rarely let myself have rolls that they're probably my favorite.
@kindbytealikat - i love green beans, but hate that casserole. @meggyme - i've had collard greens once. never again. @mermaidca - it makes me sad that your turkey is dry! I love roast turkey so much.
@mermaidca they’re a southern dish. Not something I grew up with in California, but a lot more common since we’ve been living in the south the last few years. But I find them to be bitter, like kale. And they’re sad and wilted like cooked spinach.

Add me to the not a fan of turkey group! I actually am not a huge fan of most Thanksgiving food - don't love mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce or green bean casserole! (I'm like the Thanksgiving Grinch!)
I do love roasted vegetables of any kind though and we always make those, usually brussels sprouts. One year I made bacon wrapped dates as an appetizer and they were great, so maybe I'll make those again this year? Still haven't figured out our menu!
@maureenmce Roasted veggies are one of my favs too!! My mom hated microwaved, gross brussel sprouts growing up so she never subjected us to them but I love them! Roasted with bacon, parm and lemon are the best. I love bacon wrapped dates too, stick a little goats cheese in there and it's heaven. My sister just started bacon wrapped Vienna sausages, then you sprinkle on brown sugar and maple sugar before throwing them in the oven. They can't be good for your heart, but good for my mouth.

Hi ladies! New here - I replied in the Introduce Yourself post!
I love all Thanksgiving foods, but my favorite is probably mashed potatoes. But the stuffing, turkey, even the green bean casserole I love too! I don't think I have a least favorite!
I was always that weird kid who loved Brussels sprouts, and I still love them. My favorite Thanksgiving specific dish, though, is pumpkin pie. Least favorite, like a few of you guys, is cranberry sauce and stuffing. I only make stuffing for DH.
We're hosting a get together on Thursday, so that should be fun!
@maureenmce I'm the same, never been a huge fan of thanksgiving food. I do like mashed potatoes, no gravy though. And my mom always made a strawberry jello pretzel "salad", so good. And my grandmas pumpkin pies were always the best!! I'd give anything to eat one of her pies again. I really love candied yams!! And you HAVE to do it with the marshmallows!!
Re: GTKY: Thanksgiving
The only reason I'm ever sad I'm Canadian is that Thanksgiving is over already. Maybe I should celebrate both....
My mom makes a broccoli and cheese casserole that I could eat all to myself.
I'm not a turkey fan. It's generally dry and only good in a bunwich the next day.

I love a good stuffing
I’m also not a fan of turkey (I prefer ham) but collard greens are my least favorite.
I get what you guys are saying on the turkey but if it's done right it can be amazing. I could live without green bean casserole.
