A week ago I finally got information about a meeting people want to hold in another city while we're there for a trade show in early December. In the meantime, I've had two shows to put together, post show work from another, and a million other things. I even came in and worked a half day on Sunday and I'm freaking salaried. For their meeting, I need to find a reaonably-priced meeting room as well as a venue for a dinner for about 35. In a place that's miserable for trying to do that kind of thing. Now I'm getting nagged about if I have it done. Are you kidding me? No. If you guys had been able to make up your minds two months ago, I could have had it done at this point. But ya didn't. So bite me. And if you don't like the timeline, I invite you to do it yourselves.

I just spent like four hours combing through our gigantic paper pile -- filing the important stuff away, shredding the personal, and recycling the rest. WTF! I feel like I've unsubscribed and unclicked and gone paperless at every possible step of the way and am still drowning in (mostly) useless mail.
And I'm definitely the wrong person to be planning group dinners at this point. I used to be good at it because if there was one thing I knew, it was how to eat (when we go out, H usually looks over at what I order wistfully and laments not ordering the same thing I did). And it was how to feed a pack of dudes because mostly if it looked good to me, I could be sure they would like it. Now I just look at the menus and they all look gross. "Fun dinner guys. We're going to have booze, Boost, and cinnamon toast. You're welcome."

@kiki75 "booze, Boost and cinnamon toast" sound like a dangerous diarrhea combo AFM I work in a part of town with homeless people on alot of corners. I usually give if I have any extra coins, just trying to be helpful. Well leaving work today I don't have coins but a huge bag of delicious Chicago style popcorn. I decided to give it to one of these homeless folks. Do y'all know this lady refused to take it? Walked up to my car, HUNGRY sign in hand and was like "nope". I was so flabbergasted. I guess beggars CAN be choosy?!
@cford08 that is exactly why I have a really hard time giving to homeless people. I feel like sometimes it’s just a scam. Once on a really hot day, I had a couple bottles of water that I tried to give to a guy on the street. He literally sighed and said I’ll just have 1. I was shocked.
@cford08@npkat quite a few of the homeless people around here are known to be aggressive when you try to give to them. The possibility of someone becoming aggressive with me is exactly why I don’t give, unfortunately.
@cford08 If that popcorn is still up for grabs, I am certainly not choosy! Does anyone else think that "choosy" looks funny when spelt? ASM, my kid told me I was "les incompetant" when I spilt orange juice on the floor. I didn't know if I should laugh at the "Home Alone" reference or get mad. So I walked away.
My doctor called tonight to tell me that I failed the 1 hour glucose test, and so much so that the 3 hour is basically a formality. She said they will check my fasting glucose when I get there and if it is over a certain number they will just confirm the diagnosis and not put me through the rest of the test. I don’t eat meat so thanksgiving is alllll about CARBS and pie, and I was so looking forward to it this year.
I'm a day late over here, but wtf to the CVS minute clinic and my body. I went and got tested for strep yesterday morning, their test said negative but she wanted to send it to a lab for further testing since I'm pregnant. I asked her if it was fine for me to go to work, she said yes. Just got a call that my lab results came back and they're positive for strep. Wtf I could've been home sleeping yesterday and today! Hopefully I didn't get my coworkers sick...
@orbmaker I am forever trying to be vegan and falling back to vegetarian. Right now I am eating organic dairy and pastures eggs and even some sustainably caught wild salmon. I love spaghetti squash!
@stlbuckeye132 Of the last probably four times I've had strep, Rapid Strep came back negative but the longer test came back positive. Idk why they even bother with it. Hope you're feeling better soon.
