DS has been sleeping like crap lately and it's really making me anxious about the thought of potentially having two non-sleeping kids... Especially since DH sucks ass at getting DS to go back to sleep when he night wakes... TELL ME IT'S GOING TO BE OKAY

I dunno.. I'm currently sleep deprived and in the middle of 'holy fuck wtf have we done' mode... so this question is hard today

RAVE: only 5 shifts and 2 training days left of work! 11 days! the end is in sight!

Probably all of our friends from back home who we never get to see anymore. We always have such a good time together and it makes me sad that we don't get to spend much/any time together anymore!
How old are your other kids? DD is 4 and DS is 2
Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now? I've been feeling a little sad lately thinking about how my 2 year old is going to handle the new baby. He is my little cuddle bear and loves to just honker down with me and his blanky and a book on the couch before bed (or really anytime) - it makes me sad to think how those moments may change as new baby demands take up my arm and lap space.
Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM : DD and DS have started playing together really well and for longer amounts of time before irritating one another (LOL). It's been helpful in getting online xmas shopping done, cleaning, cooking, relaxing on the couch and watching them play, you name it.
Rants/Raves/Randoms/Questions/ Last weekend my cousin brought back some baby gear we had lent her and my husband says "wow it's feeling real now" ... 34 weeks later. SMH
GTKY: If you could invite anyone to Thanksgiving dinner (or just regular dinner if not in the US), who would it be? On the celebrity side, Anthony Bourdain. I would love to pick his brain and listen to some of his stories. He's been everywhere and eaten everything ... I'd probably ask him to cook something too? On the sentimental side - my maternal grandparents who passed away in 2010. They did not get to meet my children, DD shares a birthday with my grandfather and I would have loved to see them together.

Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now? DD didn't sleep well last night and they said she was fussy at nap--hope she's not getting sick again! @failuretofly I know that anxiety! It will all be ok. (right?!)
Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM : I started working on baby's baby book (it has blanks for a family tree and a letter to baby "before you were born"), so it had me thinking about DD and this LO growing up together. I hope they like each other!

Live people, probably my college friends. We're pretty spread out over the country now, so it would be nice to get together.

Lately my daughter has been throwing crazy screaming tantrums. There's nothing I can seem to do to stop them unless I just ignore her for a while then talk to her about it later. It's the worst thing ever not being able to figure out a way to get her to handle her emotions.
She's also a light sleeper and I'm really worried about DS waking her when he's born. I really don't want both of them up every night or to ruin her sleep schedule I worked so hard for.

DD is super excited for her brother to come. That makes me excited to see how she does with him and I really hope they are close. She loves helping pick things out for him but she's also very clingy so I can see a lot of jealousy coming my way.

I would invite my grandpa who passed away before DD was born. Id also invite all my family who live in Kansas because I haven't been able to see anyone for about a year now.

Current challenges/concerns about being a STM or questions about things your children are going through now? Ummmmmm DS is obsessed with me. This is going to be a problem. Not feeling super prepared to deal.
Current joys/successes/or happy thoughts about being a STM : I'm just excited to see DS evolve and grow and become a big bro.

GTKY: If you could invite anyone to Thanksgiving dinner (or just regular dinner if not in the US), who would it be? Person of note - I'd love to meet the Obamas and chat with them over a good meal. Not famous person - DH's dad. I never got to meet him before he passed and I've never heard a bad thing about him. Oh, and he loved pregnant women (in a non-creepy way? lol) so the timing would be perfect
