@MamaK225 It's frustrating when doctors dismiss your very credible concerns. Hopefully your test results will give you some answers. I did a mock cycle with ERA and while we were waiting for the results I started a new cycle.  They have to disturb the lining for the ERA so I don't think it was ever an option for me to transfer on the same cycle. The plan is I will do one extra day of progesterone prior to transfer.  As long as my lining cooperates we will still be transferring.

  • Hi @mamaK225 I haven’t done an ERA but since it take awhile to get the results back your window would have passed even if you are pre-receptive so you would have to wait until the next month.  I’ve even heard of some RE’s adjusting the timing for the second cycle and doing a second ERA to make sure it is receptive before going on to the FET.

Welcome @radmon27!  I thought you looked familiar I think I might have cycled with you for my IVF#2 which was April/May 2017.  I’m currently stimming for IVF#3 and after my retrieval will be doing a FET of one of my 2 frosties from IVF#2.   Congrats on your donor and hoping that December is your lucky month!

  • Okay, started my period and have my schedule, so feel like I actually have things to share now. :)
Started estrace yesterday, have an ultrasound on the 27th, and transfer is scheduled for December 3rd... which is so close!
My husband still feels really unsure about transferring both of the embryos we have frozen, so I'll be discussing that with the doctor at my ultrasound. There is obviously no way to be 100% sure that all factors are equal month to month, so he is leaning towards doing 1 at a time (frozen transfers are only $1900, opposed to $13000 to start over). So hard to decide!

TTC since 2012 | Unexplained Infertility -- Sept 2017 found cyst seemingly confirming previously suspected endometriosis | IVF Sept/Oct 2017 Negative | FET scheduled early December

I’ve been MIA the last two weeks! Finally have an update. Had my endometrial activation this AM. Waiting on the nurse to call me with my progesterone to see if I’ve ovulated, if so I will start Estrace and the patches today. As long as AF comes by next week, I should be good for transfer around 12/19 ish.

@latvaughanash that’s so close!!! I can understand where your husband is coming from, hopefully you both get information at the appointment to make a good decision on how many to transfer!! Good luck!

Well, I had my lining check today and everything seems to be on track! Starting PIO on Sunday night for transfer on 12/01! So excited it is finally happening! Now I can enjoy this long holiday weekend and train DH on how to do PIO! YEY! Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

  • @decemberdoll27- so glad your lining is all set and your transfer is scheduled!! its going to be sooo soon!

AFM- I had a good baseline and started stims (300 of follistim) for my stimulated FET. Next monitoring is on Friday. They say they only need one follicle to respond to get the lining to grow, but hoping for a couple since more follicles means more estrogen for the lining! Next monitoring is on Friday. I think we are about 2.5 weeks from Transfer maybe? Hope everyone else is doing good!

@decmberdoll27 glad things are going well for your scan and excited that you will be the first December FET!  I know it can be hard to hope when there has been so much disappointment in the past but keep your head up.  We never know when our time will come J My transfer ended up being scheduled much sooner than I thought (11/25) but I’m still going to lurk around with you ladies and cheer you on J

@JamieH2000 I’m curious, what is the benefit of doing a stimulated FET? I haven’t heard of it being done before.

  • @DecemberDoll27 Good Luck!
I am right behind you on Dec 5th so long as my TSH is ok this Friday when I have my next appointment. Doing acupuncture, yoga, meditation and eating super healthy to try to get the lining a little thicker. I feel like I’m training for a marathon!
  • @alohakumu- Yay for everything looking good!! When do you go back again?!

@2momshoping- We are doing a stimulated FET since my lining was "beautiful" on my fresh IVF cycle. We tried a medicated FET protocol, and I only got my lining to 7mm and ended up with fluid in it before transfer (could have been from the polyp we found and removed). So my RE has had alot of success with the stimulated FET since its your body creating the estrogen and building the lining naturally. I think we could have gotten the lining fine with a medicated FET protocol without the polyp and starting more estrogen sooner than we did last time, but willing to try this stimulated FET and see how it goes since I had the meds already.

AFM- Had monitoring this morning and no follies above 10mm yet and the lining is only starting to thicken. I guess I wouldn't expect more than that with only 3 nights of stims and I was still spotting through Tuesday. So I'm ok with this as long as we can get a follie to grow. I feel like my estorgen is rising and some aching in my ovaries, so I think it took a few days for them to wake up after all the BC for the last 5 months.

  • @JamieH2000 thanks for the explanation on the stimulated FET!  Sometimes with BC it does take a little longer for the sims to respond.  Even without BC I usually didn’t have any >10mm after 3days of stims so you are probably right where you need to be.

@AlohaKumu things are getting close :)

I go in for my FET tomorrow.  We will also get the blast report from our last IVF to see what we can freeze and send for PGS.  I’m a little nervous but also very excited.

  • Anyone have this issue? When I went for my endometrial activation on 11/17 -- I had my progesterone checked to see if I had ovulated this cycle, I had not so I needed to start 10 days of provera to induce ovulation and AF? I took the last pill today and still no sign of AF coming. I'm going on a clock here because I kind of needed AF to come by like today in order to be able to get to FET this month because my clinic is closed Christmas and New Years (As I think we are all seeing this).

So now I'm all stressed waiting on AF (which probably isn't helping things lol) and worried that I may not get to transfer in December. UGH! Has anyone had to take provera? If so, how long after did AF come? I feel like with IF if its not one thing, it is another. What a roller coaster none of us asked to be on eh?

@2momshoping- how did your FET go?! You were doing 1 Right?! I hope it’s busy getting cozy :)

@tnh0413- come on AF! It’s so annoying she doesn’t come when you actually want her too. I did provera once to try to bring on a period since I had cysts.. and unfortunately it didn’t work since my body decided to ovulate through the provera and then my natural estrogen was high.. but I think that’s not the normal scenario. I believe my clinic says it can take 1-7 days after stopping it to get AF :(

  • @tnh0413 I am keeping all my fingers crossed for your AF to show up!
@2MomsHoping How did your FET go? How many did you transfer? How are you feeling? What are the news on your freeze report?

AFM, we started PIO last night, DH did the shot and he did great! However, now my behind hurts! It feels like there is a knot there ( or like a bruise). Is it normal? I've never did PIO before. It does not hurt super bad and I am not complaining but it is kind of uncomfortable so I am worried we did not do it right...

    Hope everybody is doing great!

I will look into the PIO thread. @laurad75 I was so nervous too, we watched bunch of youtube videos and draw targets on my butt, it was pretty fun actually ( in a wierd IF way that people who did not go through IVF and FET would never understand). Warming up the oil first and then heat pad after with massaging helped me the most!

  • Hi everyone, I am going to join here in hopes that we will be able to complete our FET in December.  I don't believe our clinic closes around the holidays at all, as it is one of the largest in New England and I was told, open 365 days a year.  So at least we have that going for us at this point....

We just completed our third egg retrieval a week ago and ended up with 6 day 5/6 embryos.  We had to do a freeze all because I have PCOS and the day before retrieval by E2 doubled to 3900, we had 25 eggs retrieved and while I felt okay the first 24 hours after retrieval, it actually got worse over the next 3-4 days so I am glad we decided to postpone, although of course I hate the way.  I have also had 4 failed FETs in the past and was really excited to possibly a try a fresh, but physically I was just not ready.

I have my follow-up with my RE tomorrow and we will discuss embryo quality and whether to transfer 1 or 2. Then we wait for insurance auth, which of course I am extremely grateful to have, and then we can begin prepping. Usually the insurance piece only takes 2-3 days once submitted, so I am hoping that perhaps we will have by beginning of next week.  I expect AF any day now and will most likely have to start BCP while waiting for auth, so that may push us back a week or two depending on how long my RE wants me to stay on it.  Either way, I am trying to remain hopeful that most of the prep, ir not the transfer itself will be before the end of the year.

Hopefully 2018 is the year we all become mothers to the take home babies we are working so tirelessly to conceive, good luck everyone!
  • Hi All.

We transferred 1 PGS normal this time around.   This is our first time transferring a PGS tested embryo so my hopes are pretty high and she/he stays!  I think I’m probably going to cheat and test early but haven’t committed yet.  I keep changing my mind on it.

We had 4 that were frozen and biopsied on Saturday we were hoping the other two might catch up but no luck there.  I have to admit I’m a little worried.  We have had a really low % of embryos come back normal and with our previous history it’s not very likely we have any in that batch.  But nothing we can do at this point but wait and hope that there is a lucky one in there.

@tnh0413 I haven’t had to take provera before but I hope AF shows up for you.  Seems to inconveniently not show up when we want her to.

@JamieH2000 I’m hoping things pick up for you and that lining starts to thicken.  It would be awful to be canceled two cycles in a row but your follicles still sounds like they need a few days so you definitely have time to get there!

@DecemberDoll27 PIO does hurt but sometimes if you have the wrong spot it can hurt even more.  I really suggest using a marker.  Draw a horizontal line from your butt crack towards your side.  Then a vertical line through the middle of your butt cheek.  You should have a four squares on your cheek.  Always do the shot in the top outer square.  After we did the initial lines we drew sharpie circles on me that we refreshed every couple of days so we knew we were hitting the right spot.  Often a nurse at your clinic can do it if you ask.  Here is a decent graphic of the right spot.  https://www.google.com/search?q=progesterone+in+oil+shot+location&client=firefox-b-ab&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjwjO33mt_XAhUK92MKHf8KB4sQ_AUICygC&biw=1266&bih=842#imgrc=I5hvELj7oK9V3M:

Other things that have helped me is using warm water on my hands and then holding the oil to warm it and having a little ice pack at the ready afterwards.  And massage it after it goes in.  Good luck.  They really aren’t very fun and even with all this you will still be sore.

Hi @bethann1022 good to see you here retrieval buddy :P  I expected to stim much longer than I did so I joined the December group and have stuck around J  excited to keep seeing your story unfold.

Thanks everyone! AF still being MIA of course.

@DecemberDoll27 I found that using my

Sorry my font is so huge.  I can't figure out where to change it.

@JamieH2000 Never heard about a stimulated FET cycle before either.  Hmm, I wonder why my doctor did not discuss that with me.  I am doing a medicated FET but my lining doesn't want to go beyond 6.5-6.8 Unfortunately, that's pretty typical for me (I don't know what it would be if I had a natural cycle which I don't) and we are still going to move forward with the transfer on Dec 7th.  But I didn't know there was any other alternative for the lining thickening.
@2MomsHoping Fingers crossed for you on your transfer and your blasts.  I only had 1 out of 5 test normal so I know it can be disappointing, but on the other hand it's great that we found a normal and that raises our chances of successful FET. And there is no way I'm not going to cheat after my transfer, I have too many of those cheapie tests hanging around to control myself!
  • Well ladies, I’ve been officially pushed out to the  earliest transfer I can do now is Jan 8th. I’ll hop over to the January thread. So frustrating! • @bethann1022- congrats on the 6 embryos! That is a great result! I really hope the insurance auth comes through quickly. I have also had issues with that, and I call and bug them and sometimes it seems to help :) You have had quite a journey and its time for you to get your BFP!!

@2momshoping- congrats on being PUPO! I understand your disapointment about the last 2 embryos, but I am really hoping you will have some normals in your 4 that were frozen. and I really hope your little embryo inside is getting nice and cozy!!

@suziev3- I don't think stimulated FETs are that common, due to the cost of meds and monitoring. Did you fresh IVF cycle lining get thicker? That is the main reason to do it I think. I think anything above 6 can work as long as its trilinear. FX that you get your thickest lining yet!!

@tnh0413- delays are the WORST, so i feel your pain. I agree- enjoy the holiday season to the fullest and then January will be here soon!

  • @DecemberDoll27 Exciting!  We are also just transferring one.  My RE was adamant on a single transfer especially since we are using DE which could be more likely to take.  We did our first PIO shot last night and it was fine.  I'm a little sore today but only when I shift my weight to the hip we used.  I have to do it myself on Friday and Saturday so I'm super anxious about that.

@DecemberDoll27 glad it was a little better for you last night.

I feel like I got off so easy this time.  I’ve always done PIO and this time they switched me to the endometrium and no sticky estrogen patches.  I’m a little paranoid at less medication since the progression always seems to be towards more needles but it has been a nice break.

  • @2MomsHoping I used endometrin vaginal tablets during my fresh cycle and I was worried that it was not enough progesterone also, however I read in multiple sources that it does not make much difference whether you do PIO or use it vaginally. I am going to start endometrin 3 times a day after transfer on top of the PIO, lucky me. But I guess it will eliminate symptom spotting in TWW with so much progesterone in my system.
