I didn't know if this should go under food or questions, or meal planning, so I thought if I'm asking for specific rec's a special snowflake thread would be okay?? Don't crucify me!!! I'll take it down if anyone's crazy triggered! :P
So smoothies are the only things lately that reliably sound good and I can keep down. I like green smoothies when they're good, and want to get more veggies in me because they're usually a staple in my diet, but I've tried three recipes from online and so far they all taste like a goat's dinner. I don't want to keep buying kale just to have it go bad because I can't make it taste good. If you have any green or healthy smoothie recipes you love, can you share, please?
Re: Smoothie Recipies That Dont Taste Like grASS
BUT I was reading the label the other day and there's sprouts in it which I hear is a no no, verdict is still out whether I'll still drink it.
im a terrible white girl and don’t like avocado but from what I understand avocado makes a great green smoothie ingredient as well.
We usually use frozen fruit of some kind (I like berries best, but it's personal preference), some kind of no sugar added fruit juice (apple is my fave), and some sort of yogurt. To that combo, if I throw in a couple handfuls of spinach, I can't taste it at all. I have never done kale in smoothies, so I'm not sure about that.

I'd forgotten about them because buying locally is generally important to me and produce in CO isn't what I'm used to, but I'm thinking I may have to bend on that one a bit in favor of nutrients.
@acunamatada I would think sprouts in a processed powder would be fine. I'd imagine that the drying and powdering process would get rid of any potential strains of bacteria, and I also know sprouts is one of those 'better safe than sorry' foods that doesn't actually carry high risk. Just throwing that out there, you do what you need for your comfort level.
1 banana, handful spinach, 1/4 cup frozen mango, 1/4 cup frozen strawberries, 1 tsp beetroot powder (basically beets turned into powder), a small knob of ginger, and coconut water!!! Sooooo good.
2ish tbsp peanut butter
handful of ice cubes
1 cup vanilla Greek yogurt
almond milk
I like to mix it up in a mason jar and drink straight from it. I typically put everything in besides the almond milk and then just pour the almond milk until it’s full, blend and enjoy!
It is the most delicious, milkshake-like thing ever. You could toss in spinach or other greens too if you wanted!
This will probably echo others, but I’d say kale was definitely your taste issue. Spinach is much more mild and I can stuff a ton in there with no impact on the taste. I would recommend always using either banana or avocado from creaminess. And then other than those two ingredients, get creative! I made sooo many combinations.

not coming across too pushy
For something less sweet but super refreshing, try spinach, cucumber, mint, frozen citrus, and coconut water.
