2nd Trimester Check In For The Week of November 6th

Good morning!

This is a weekly check-in for those in their 2nd trimester: weeks 14 through the end of week 27.

Congrats to all the strong ladies who have made it this far! It's such a great feeling and we've all accomplished so much! We are now 1 week closer to the end of this especially long journey we call "infertility."

Please post below a little about yourself, how many beans you have growing inside, if you have found out the sex(es) and what your EDD is. Please also let us know how far you've made it on your journey and when your next appointment is and what for. If I'm missing anyone from this list, or you are new to the 2nd tri, please let me know and I will add you.

Please let us know when you have graduated to 3rd trimester so that I can update.

CONGRATS TO @caseyw8784 for moving on to the 3rd trimester!!

    Hello everyone!!
Today I'm 25w3d with baby girl...
My next apt is the 14th to discuss what happened during the heart echo last week. I will be talking to him about the whole blood thinner concerns I have. They just called me and scheduled a growth ultrasound right before my 28w apt on the 28th. I totally didn't expect that I thought I wouldn't have another ultrasound until week 33 (Jan 2nd).
I made DH help rearrange furniture this weekend and get out the crib. I'm afraid it's going to start snowing and then we have to dig it out of the shed in snow yada yada (just an excuse lol) Anyway in our move a year ago apperently we have lost the bolts. Graco said since it was made before 2014 they don't have replacement parts but she gave me a $50 mail in rebate for the inconvenience. DH is happy cause he really wants a gray crib instead of the Espresso we have.
QOTW: I was mostly looking forward to movement. It's great not to pull out the doppler every night to confirm the baby is still moving around in there. Now I'm looking forward to wee 28 to start a new trimester that will fly by.

    Hey Ladies!!

I am 16w 3d with little Baby C.  Starting to feel slight movements when I am laying down relaxing which is kind of amazing!!  My 10 year old enjoys coming in to talk to the baby and kids my tummy. I am so glad she is bonding with this baby. Secondary IF has left me thinking the joy would never occur and the older she got made me question her ability to connect.

Had a scare last week that sent me to ER. About passed out one morning. And had limited cognitive abilities afterwards that lasted all day. Provided I was sitting down, I felt fine but standing up I got dizzy every single time. Blood pressure was elevated, baby's heart rate was faster indicating some distress but still in normal range. Blood sugar levels plummeted and I was unable to get them in check on my own.  Feeling forced to eat more when I am not hungry is for the dang birds. But health of babe is important.

Next appt is Monday, 13th for blood panel, screens and monitoring.

    Thank you @rel_1987

How is your little bean doing?

@thucks, you have your own Doppler? How does it work?
It drives me nuts when I am feeling crappy and not know how the baby is reacting to my stress and/or sugar drops.
  • Options
@prayingfor2 Yeah I have a doppler at home that lets me listen and know the heart rate of the baby. Usually they don't fully work until about 12 weeks and work really well at 16 weeks. Go to www.babydoppler.com they have some good reasonable prices. Or you can order them on Amazon. I use aloe vera gel instead of ultrasound gel.

@momma6angels11 I'm glad your apt went well yesterday!!

Hi Guys! First, thank you all so much for your encouragement last week! I meant to get back on here to thank you but I ran out of time! Im 16w +1 with 1 baby. EDD 4/24. No appointments or updates really this week. I think I have finally started to feel better! Im still on 2 meds for nausea, I forget them the other night and was sick all day yesterday so unfortunately I found I still need them! Next appointment is day before thanksgiving. This trimester I think I am looking forward to the anatomy scan most, as well as feeling the baby move!

@rel_1987 did you get your heart beat animal? I got mine back at 11 weeks and I love it! I play it around my husband and I always get a smile, I feel like it makes it more real for him especially since he hasn't seen an ultrasound since six weeks!

@Prayingfor2, @momma6angels11 Glad you and baby/babies are good!

@meredithj123 Give it a couple more weeks on the nausea. I started feeling better about 18 weeks. Every once in a while I get sick in the early morning now, but that's only of I don't eat soon enough after my prenatal and aspirin. Are you doing any big gender reveal plans?

Hey ladies! 16+5 weeks with 1 little boy!
Had my elective ultrasound yesterday evening. @meredithj123 yes got our heartbeat bear a camo one and I absolutely adore it.
@Prayingfor2 he is doing great. Had a strong heartbeat of 150 and measured perfect. He was a little wiggle worm last night.
AFM: Have my next OB appt tomorrow morning. Should be a quick in an out. Fx
QOTW: I am looking forward to finally getting to 20 weeks and also I can't wait to feel movement. I have an anterior placenta so may be awhile for me.

I think it's time for me to join the pregnant after if boards :) I'm at 20+4 weeks with an edd of March 25 with my rainbow twins. We will find out the genders on Sunday but the ultrasound tech said she got great pictures of them which was the only concern I had. I am looking forward to eventually feeling them move at all. We see them jumping around in the ultrasounds, but one of the placentas is right at the front and the other is right at the back so I haven't felt anything yet.

@amanning2011 same as what @thucks said! Lol I will get you added! As for movements it will come believe me...with the anterior placenta even...probably give it a few weeks and you'll most likely start feeling them.

@thucks I'll be honest, I probably do more updates on Instagram than anywhere else lol

Hey everyone! Kind of late on the chexk in this week cause we've been out of town, but it's great to read up on all of you! I'm 16+1 with twins and the thing I am/was most excited about for this trimester is feeling my babies move! I have kind of thought I was feeling them for a couple weeks now (I would put my hands on my tummy and focus for a couple minutes most nights and definitely felt SOMETHING moving), but yesterday was the first time I felt a legit kick out of the blue! My husband can feel them now too which is also super exciting, and it definitely helps ease the anxieties about them being ok. Downside: now that they're big enough to feel moving around, they are dancing on my stomach All. The. Time. So I need to adjust eating habits again and figure out how to eat enough to properly gain weight without eating so much that I throw up.

Our next appointment is Nov 29th for the anatomy scan and I'm super excited for it as well!

@nmtay So lucky! I can't wait to feel my babe. There were a couple mornings when I woke up to feel pitter patter, but I have no idea if that was the baby or gas. And I'm very gassy these days!

@helloworld9 yes gas problems are SUPER real. Right now I'm bouncing on an exercise ball trying to settle down enough to sleep lol. It's super hard to tell the difference at first but before I could tell for sure I would tell myself it was the babies cause it was reassuring and happy! Hopefully you'll be able to tell for sure soon!
