Due Date Check In Week 1 11/13 (4/29-5/5)

This is a weekly check in for people who are due the Fourth Week of May 4/29-5/5

How far along are you?

What's going on with you this week?  How are you feeling? What do you want to rant or rave about?

GTKY: What was your go to alcoholic drink before getting pregnant? And do you really miss it/crave it or something else? (I stole this and have no shame)

  • @ivyvines6 I totally get what you mean. I like vacation, but I’m always happy to go back to my routine.

@abhphilly good luck with all your appointments!

@bcmountainmama I’m so sorry about your mom. That has to be really hard.  <3

@zizzabell523 glad you are feeling better.

How far along are you? 15 weeks 6 days! I usually wait until Wednesdays to reply so I know what vegetable my baby is the size of, but I miss out on the conversation

What's going on with you this week?  How are you feeling? What do you want to rant or rave about? I feel pretty normal!  I've been clear for 3 weeks and I forget how crappy it was for awhile.  I'm sorry for those of you who are still suffering.
DS is almost over his illness, he's been on antibiotics since Thursday. I'm thankful he is almost back to his regular self! Another rave, I just found out a good friend is expecting the end of may!  Our mat leaves will line up perfectly for lots of play dates.  Rant - stupid anterior placenta.  I thought I was feeling movement a few weeks ago, but lately all I'm feeling is Braxton hicks.  Good thing I have a Doppler to ease my mind.

GTKY: What was your go to alcoholic drink before getting pregnant? And do you really miss it/crave it or something else? (I stole this and have no shame). I'm not much of a drinker, not like my alcoholic late teen to early 20's self.  Moscato is my fave, I'll still have a few sips while pregnant but they are few and very far between.
  • @ivyvines6 I love getting back from vacation!  It takes a week to unpack the suitcase for me, but getting back to your own bed is awesome.

@bcmountainmama I'm sorry about your mom.  This is a tough time to not have that support around :(

@abhphilly good job on getting back to the 'gym'!  I've worked out twice this week after taking ummm 11 weeks off.  You know you're out of shape when you get sore for days after doing squats and lunges :)

    @zizzabell523 hooray for flutters!

@mileswithmyles it seems crazy to be lining up daycare already!!  Sorry your mil didn't take the news well. I do enjoy reading mil drama though ;)
  • How did no one catch that it says “due the Fourth Week of May?” /facepalm
  • @squashandlaces my bags will be unpacked on Wednesday. I can’t handle suitcases... It’s a weird OCD thing. I always completely unpack them when we get a hotel room too, and I roll all the dirty clothes to put away as we stay, using the suitcase as a laundry basket

What's going on with you this week?  How are you feeling? What do you want to rant or rave about?  Just had my 16 week check up and schedule my A/S for Dec. 14! It was great to hear baby since it was my first check up after being rear ended two weeks ago.

GTKY: I also rarely drink when not pregnant. Every once and awhile DH and I will split a bottle of wine or champagne for a special occasion. Other than that, I just have the occasional glass of wine in the winter or beer in the summer. I do miss wine now that it’s getting damp and chilly outside.

What's going on with you this week?  How are you feeling? What do you want to rant or rave about?
RAVE: The nausea is starting to lift, praise be!  I actually ate lunch and dinner with my family yesterday. Everyone stared at me in nervous anticipation both meals but it all stayed down with just some uncomfortableness for an hour or so after.

RANT: Unfortunately my zofran pump sites are starting to get really irritated, so I might be weaning off of it sooner rather than later. Hopefully that doesn’t set me back.

GTKY: I’m usually a beer drinker although I drink about anything but this pregnancy red wine smells really good. (Last pregnancy ipa beer smelled really good). My bloodhound nose smells it across the house and i have to huff the glass.
  • @bcmountainmama - I’m a L&D nurse and my patients who do hypnobirthing tend to be really really well prepared to do an unmedicated delivery and are most likely to be successful with it. The only downfall is they also tend to be the ones who feel like it’s a personal failure when labor doesn’t go as they planned (like needing emergency interventions because the baby or mom is in trouble). Just remember that you can’t control it all.
  • @abbykm7 That’s a really good point!  Thank-you, I’ll keep that in mind!
  • @ivyvines6 I totally understand. When the vacation is over, I’m just ready to be home and get back into the routine. @bcmountainmama I bet this is a difficult time and it is normal to wish she was around for this new stage in your life. Also, we used a doula with our second and she was wonderful! I didn’t do hypnobirthing or Bradley method because she was right there telling me what to do. DH always recommends hiring a doula to other dads who are on the fence. @abhphilly way to get active again! @zizzabell523 It’s such an awesome feeling, and even better when they become obvious rolls and kicks. @mileswithmyles Hopefully your MIL gets over her butthurt fairly quickly. @attorneyworkproduct I bet that was a huge relief to hear the sweet heartbeat after two weeks of worry! @abbykm7 it’s about time that nausea GTFO! Good luck weaning off of zofran, I’ve heard it can be rough.

I feel great aside from my freaking sacroiliac joint acting up. The chiropractor isn’t working so I guess I’ll ask my midwife for a PT referral. This crap didn’t start until 25 weeks with DD2 so it’s really depressing to think how long I could be dealing with this pain. Working out helps, though, so at least I can still do that.

I love beer, especially dark beer which I got into when I was BF my first. I haven’t really missed alcohol yet although with the holidays coming up I’ll enjoy a small glass of mulled cider.

eta: excuse the formatting, I’m always mobile.
  • @squashandlaces glad DS is feeling better!

@attorneyworkproduct yay for getting to see/hear the baby!

@abbykm7 hopefully you are on the other side of the nausea

@MissusTexas That stinks.  Chiro plus PT usually helps my sciatica, so FX for you.

I'm posting and ghosting. The past two weeks have been too busy to bump at work. (I still exist though!). Sorry!

What's going on with you this week? How are you feeling? What do you want to rant or rave about? Just busy with work. I'm paranoid something is wrong because I feel great (PGAL brain).

GTKY: What was your go to alcoholic drink before getting pregnant? And do you really miss it/crave it or something else? Whiskey on the rocks or wine. Sometimes I think I miss it, but my husband's beer smells so gross!

    How far along are you?

    16 weeks 4 days

What's going on with you this week?  How are you feeling? What do you want to rant or rave about?

Weird tummy issues that I'm blaming on not drinking enough H2O.

DH wants to try potty training DS the last week of November... Pretty sure that's wishful thinking but props to him for taking the time off work to try it. DS is interested in the toilet and will ask to use it from time to time but also will throw down a good tantrum if you try to take him to it when he claims he doesn't have to go. Which is typically when he's red faced and hunched over. STM+s you know what I'm talking about lol

GTKY: What was your go to alcoholic drink before getting pregnant? And do you really miss it/crave it or something else? (I stole this and have no shame)

wine. I don't necessarily miss it but when someone is drinking it near me I sure can smell it and it smells lovely!
  • @onesmallcoconut how old is ds? My boy was like 90% potty trained and then I got sick and nana put him diapers while she watched him and he reverted and now he seems to have hit a different developmental stage (the one where he has opinions on everything) and he fight against it. I wish we would have gotten it to 100% before I got sick. He’s 2.5.  The plan is once I’m feeling a little better to hit it hard over three days doing the naked thing.
  • @onesmallcoconut, props to your DH for having the ambition. My DD is 2.5 and I had big plans to try to do a crash course three day potty training with lots of fluids and potty time every 30 minutes.

In reality, I have been super lazy about it and sit her on the potty before bath (if she is willing) and she has peed ONE TIME at home. Her “potty chart” is full of stickers for trying. I need to get with it but it’s hard for me to wrap my head around actually having to take someone else to the bathroom.

  • @abbykm7 he's 2 years + 2 months.
Hoping for a smooth transition and our dayhome is 100% on board with helping out so that helps for sure.
I wish you luck in your potty training adventure too! Sorry to hear about the revert, how frustrating :(

@attorneyworkproduct our reward system has been stickers too! He loves them. Doesn't have a chart though. I feel like he'd get annoyed that he couldn't play with them lol Good luck to you as well! Looks like my family isn't alone in this
