This is a weekly check in for people who are due the Fourth Week of May 4/29-5/5
How far along are you?
What's going on with you this week? How are you feeling? What do you want to rant or rave about?
GTKY: What was your go to alcoholic drink before getting pregnant? And do you really miss it/crave it or something else? (I stole this and have no shame)
Re: Due Date Check In Week 1 11/13 (4/29-5/5)
I’ve never been a big drinker. Like... I drink as much during pregnancy as I do when I’m not pregnant, which means I may have a beer with dinner once every couple months, but I usually don’t care to bother. I actually have the opposite issue of craving soda when I’m KU and I never drink soda, ever. I drink a lot of coffee and tea and mostly water, but seriously never soda. Pregnancy is weird y’all...
Feeling pretty normal. I did have some cramping on Saturday after walking for a really long time, but not sure if it's round ligament pain, braxton hicks, pelvic something or other, or just plain old cramping. Gonna mention it to the doctor at my appointment today but not worried about it.
I have three appointments this week: normal 16 week check-up today, first Makena injection tomorrow, and a high risk ultrasound on Thursday. Haven't had an appt since 4 weeks ago, so I'm anxious/excited to hear and see baby again this week. Hopefully everything's still going smoothly! I bought a maternity winter coat this weekend but I'm not taking the tags off until after this week's appts. Don't want to jinx it. Lol. (ETA: This is the coat if anyone is looking for one. 25% off right now! Warm and relatively flattering. I tried it on with the awesome fake bump in the store. Hehe.)
Also, I finally got back into exercising a bit, and I've used our home "gym" twice in the past 3 days. Yay me!
Not much of a drinker, so I'd have one or two of whatever was available at a party or something. The only alcohol that excited me at all was mimosas with brunch occasionally, and those are really easy to mimic without the alcohol, so I'm good.

Symptoms have really, really dropped off this week! I am SO thankful to be on the other side of that! What an ass kicker that was!
We met with our doula on Friday and it was amazing! I was on the fence about hiring one but we both feel so supported and empowered now. She teaches hypnobirthing through hypnobabies and we are planning on taking a course. It’s pretty out there but I’ve only heard great things. Anyone else planning on going this route?
I lost my Mum a year and a half ago. It was sudden, I didn’t have a chance to say good-bye. Since getting pregnant the grief has felt so fresh and painful. I miss her so much. It’s so strange to go through this without her.
GTKY: What was your favorite alcoholic drink before you were pregnant? Do you miss it/crave it?
Ok, honestly I really miss drinking! I’m so bored these days! We live in a small town, are new here, and I don’t have any friends here. I haven’t been working because I haven’t been able to find work. I would crush a dozen micheladas right now if I could. Great now I’m drooling!

@abhphilly good luck with all your appointments!
@bcmountainmama I’m so sorry about your mom. That has to be really hard.
@zizzabell523 glad you are feeling better.
DS is almost over his illness, he's been on antibiotics since Thursday. I'm thankful he is almost back to his regular self! Another rave, I just found out a good friend is expecting the end of may! Our mat leaves will line up perfectly for lots of play dates. Rant - stupid anterior placenta. I thought I was feeling movement a few weeks ago, but lately all I'm feeling is Braxton hicks. Good thing I have a Doppler to ease my mind.
@bcmountainmama I'm sorry about your mom. This is a tough time to not have that support around
@abhphilly good job on getting back to the 'gym'! I've worked out twice this week after taking ummm 11 weeks off. You know you're out of shape when you get sore for days after doing squats and lunges
@zizzabell523 hooray for flutters!
@mileswithmyles it seems crazy to be lining up daycare already!! Sorry your mil didn't take the news well. I do enjoy reading mil drama though

RANT: Unfortunately my zofran pump sites are starting to get really irritated, so I might be weaning off of it sooner rather than later. Hopefully that doesn’t set me back.
I feel great aside from my freaking sacroiliac joint acting up. The chiropractor isn’t working so I guess I’ll ask my midwife for a PT referral. This crap didn’t start until 25 weeks with DD2 so it’s really depressing to think how long I could be dealing with this pain. Working out helps, though, so at least I can still do that.
GTKY: What was your go to alcoholic drink before getting pregnant? And do you really miss it/crave it or something else?
I love beer, especially dark beer which I got into when I was BF my first. I haven’t really missed alcohol yet although with the holidays coming up I’ll enjoy a small glass of mulled cider.
eta: excuse the formatting, I’m always mobile.
@attorneyworkproduct yay for getting to see/hear the baby!
@abbykm7 hopefully you are on the other side of the nausea
@MissusTexas That stinks. Chiro plus PT usually helps my sciatica, so FX for you.

What's going on with you this week? How are you feeling? What do you want to rant or rave about? Just busy with work. I'm paranoid something is wrong because I feel great (PGAL brain).
GTKY: What was your go to alcoholic drink before getting pregnant? And do you really miss it/crave it or something else? Whiskey on the rocks or wine. Sometimes I think I miss it, but my husband's beer smells so gross!
Edit: Fixed weird formatting.

Weird tummy issues that I'm blaming on not drinking enough H2O.
DH wants to try potty training DS the last week of November... Pretty sure that's wishful thinking but props to him for taking the time off work to try it. DS is interested in the toilet and will ask to use it from time to time but also will throw down a good tantrum if you try to take him to it when he claims he doesn't have to go. Which is typically when he's red faced and hunched over. STM+s you know what I'm talking about lol
wine. I don't necessarily miss it but when someone is drinking it near me I sure can smell it and it smells lovely!
In reality, I have been super lazy about it and sit her on the potty before bath (if she is willing) and she has peed ONE TIME at home. Her “potty chart” is full of stickers for trying. I need to get with it but it’s hard for me to wrap my head around actually having to take someone else to the bathroom.
Hoping for a smooth transition and our dayhome is 100% on board with helping out so that helps for sure.
I wish you luck in your potty training adventure too! Sorry to hear about the revert, how frustrating
@attorneyworkproduct our reward system has been stickers too! He loves them. Doesn't have a chart though. I feel like he'd get annoyed that he couldn't play with them lol Good luck to you as well! Looks like my family isn't alone in this
