MOC

Hi guys! For those of you under-going IVF, is there anything I can do to make the Mock Embryo Transfer more comfortable? Having another Hysteroscopy done at the same time, but not really concerned with that part. Just the MOC, having to have a full bladder while they poke around, makes me uncomfortable to even think about! lol Any tips are appreciated!  :)

Re: MOC

  • Hey @kristimh80! I struggled more with the bladder while we were driving over there and waiting around. If they let you watch, that might be something to keep your mind off of it.

  • The mock transfer takes all of 2 minutes. It's not as uncomfortable as the transfer. My tips for you: empty your bladder 1 hour before procedure. Then SIP your water, don't chug. The minute you feel that light need to pee, stop drinking. I filled my bladder with less than a 16oz bottle of water. I had been drinking water throughout the day though.
Are you having the HSG first?? You may feel uncomfortable during the mock transfer because of that though. Good luck!
  • @coco305 Thanks for the tips! I was told to drink 32 oz after emptying my bladder, but I like your suggestion way better! I drink a lot of water anyways, so always feel I have to go and the idea of 32 oz sitting around didn't sound fun. Since it's all being done at 1 appointment, I have no idea! Hopefully the mock transfer is first. My dr is pretty fast, luckily! Thanks again for your help! :)

  • @kristimh80 so nice to see a familiar face! I’m excited for my transfer next week. I wasn’t on the board much this summer. When is your transfer?? (I can’t see signatures on my phone). Good luck with the mock transfer. The hysteroscopy hurt me so badly. I don’t know why!

  • @Irisheyes81 How exciting!!! How many did you decide to transfer? We've come a long way from talking about medicated cycles and IUIs lol We should know more on Friday. It maybe January for actual IVF / retrieval since my RE's office is closed the majority of December for the holidays. So maybe March for transfer, but who knows! Hopefully, we'll get lucky and can start sooner.
