Anyone else have a 2 year old and find out they are now pregnant with twins?! Hoping to find a few others in my same boat. My daughter will be almost 3 when they are born...and the idea of managing all 3 is daunting!
Well, sort of, except the opposite. We have "twin" (foster sisters, same age) 2 year old girls, and now are having a baby. We also have two older boys. I'm used the the multiples, but yes- 3 under 3 is freaking hard. It is also amazing and fun. (I'm secretly hoping we have twins this round, so we can have 3 "sets" of twins, but I'm pretty sure it's singleton.)
Married DH : 7/7/12; 3 fur babies (2 dogs and 1 cat) DS born 9/3/13; DD born 7/22/15; LO due 5/28/18 FS (age 5) and FD (age 2) to become AS/AD very soon!
I haven't had my first ultrasound yet, but my grandmother was a fraternal twin, so there's a chance this pregnancy could be twins! It's been on my mind a lot lately and I'm starting to freak myself out wondering if I'm predicting things! My DD will be 3 next month, so we'll be in similar boats if mine is twins.
I'm also in the opposite boat. I'll have twin 2.5 year olds and a newborn. Just keep to a schedule. Feed the twins at the same time for every feeding, even if one isn't as hungry. Put them down for naps at the same time. Change diapers at the same time. Just schedule, schedule, schedule. And that will also help you plan things to do with your toddler easier.
All great things. I thrive on a schedule and got my daughter on one quickly so hopefully I can get that set up and make life a tad easier! Just so many things to think about/plan for
Sorry I don't have any experience with twins... unless I find out differently at my first appointment at the end of the month. But I know someone who has a son who turns 3 in October and twins who will be 2 in November. I know she says sticking to a schedule is the only way to get through the day.

I'd argue a schedule is the only way to get through the day with multiple littles- twins or not.

Yes, plus one for a schedule for sure. Same boat as @suchaglencoco, I'll have 4 year old twins and a newborn. Schedule is paramount. Wake one up to eat, even in the middle of the night, if the other one wakes up to eat on their own. There were a few days when I had my twins and would babysit my niece (then 3ish) and the hardest thing for me was if she had to go to the bathroom while I was breastfeeding. You learn to live with crying. It's okay to let them cry for a few minutes. Keep telling yourself that And the best piece of advice I can give you is, It gets better. It really really does. Once they sit up on their own, can start to feed themselves, walk by themselves so you don't have to carry them everywhere....it really does get easier.

My SIL had twins and a 22 month old. I actually went out and stayed with her for a few weeks to help out. My best advice (not that I know anything other than my experience with my nieces) is to accept whatever help you can! People will likely want to help so put them to work Haha!
And honestly, I found that raising twins, at this until they're at this stage of almost being 2, is a lot easier than parents of singletons led me to believe it would be.
i know it’s really early on for this but what diaper bags are you all thinking about getting?? I have a back pack diaper bag that I use sometimes for my 3 year old but I just don’t see it working for all three kids.
@lincbeesmom I was thinking about getting a back pack one since our hands will be a little full. I’m hoping to have my daughter potty trained before the twins come so I don’t have to carry around too much for her. I have a Vera Bradley one for DD but I don’t use it much now I usually just throw her diapers and wipes in my purse. Lol
I'm 15 weeks along with twins and have a 2 and 4 year old (son will be 5 right around the time babies get here and daughter will be 3 in July). We have a lot of twin mamas in here!
Yes!! Our daughter is 2, will be 2 1/2 when our (total surprise) twins arrive. Part of me feels more prepared because we've done this once before... and part of me is nearly overwhelmed... toddlers are a handful as is!!
I guess i just know to expect semi-organized chaos... and really hoping that the semi-organized part plays out.
