Hopefully the GTKY isn't a repeat question. I've never seen this one before since I've been on here and thought it would be fun!
Month/Cycle: 6/6
CD: 18
WAYDTGKU: Benched, but OPKs for fun. Finally got a positive last night!
R/R: Rant: You all saw my rant about the missing Xbox in the randoms thread. Rave: I met with my old boss yesterday and had a great talk with her to get some career advice. I haven't been loving my job lately but would feel terrible leaving for a new job since my office has a lot of new people right now, so I feel like it's not the right time. She said that I should really take care of myself though and make sure that I'm happy, even if it means leaving. So I may start looking for some other positions soon.
CS/Q: Chart in spoiler. Holy EWCM! I usually have exactly 6 days of EWCM most cycles but *TW-loss* I'm thinking my cycle is kind of wonky from my CP last cycle. *end TW*
GTKY: What is your favorite album/CD and why? My all time favorite CD is a soundtrack from an Off Broadway show called The Last Five Years (it was also made into a movie starring Anna Kendrick somewhat recently, if anyone saw it). I'm just obsessed with the music and the two actors and I can't get enough of it. It follows a couple's relationship from the beginning until their divorce, but it's unique in that the woman starts with the end of the marriage and the man starts at the beginning, so it kind of crisscrosses in the middle. It sounds depressing but it's really not, and it's just an all around beautiful show!
R/R: Hopefully I'll actually remember to pee on an OPK today. I also temped late at night instead of early in the morning again. I took NyQuil to try and sleep better, and I guess I got enough sleep, but I still woke up a few times and feel tired today. Probably groggy from the Nyquil.
CS/Q: -
GTKY: What is your favorite album/CD and why? This is a really hard question, but if I had to choose, I think I'd pick The Beatles: Revolver.
@offtoneverland Ugh, still so frustrated for you on the Xbox front. I also tend to agree with your ex boss. You definitely need to put yourself first. There will always be a reason not to leave, and you are more important than a company.
@lalala2004 Don't forget to POAS! Good choice! Love some of the Beatles too.
Month/Cycle: 6/6 (1 benched)
CD: 2
WAYDTGKU: Nothing yet
R/R: Comms on my MH's ship have been terrible the last few days. It has been taking an hour for my emails to get to him and there is only a short time frame when he is on shift and I am actually awake. So we haven't really talked much. It is frustrating! Rave: I had greek yogurt and granola for breakfast. It was yummy! Oh, and warm and cozy sweaters for the win!
CS/Q:
GTKY: What is your favorite album/CD and why? This is a tough one. I think I would have to go with an oldie. Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. Deja Vu.
WAYDTGKU: Took four days off. Now back to BBT, OPKs, vitamins, Coq10, Pom Juice, HIO, and HSG today.
R/R: Rave: I get to see more good friends today and am babysitting one of my favorite little girls. She's joining my friends and I on our coffee date. Should be a good day. I also have my HSG today. The ladies at fertility yoga were really encouraging about it last night.
CS/Q: Nope, just two little dots.
GTKY: I don't really have one favorite. Right now I'd say Trans-Siberian Orchestra's Christmas Eve & Other Stories. I like their take on the songs and we're going to see them next month so I'm getting hyped.
@offtoneverland I really like your old boss' advice. You have to take care of you. As an employee I would get nervous about quitting and inconveniencing others. Now that I am an employer I can say that yes, it's a small inconvenience, but no where near as much as I worried about when I was the employee. Your current work place would make due and you could move on to somewhere that makes you happier.
@offtoneverland I struggle with the job thing as well. We have talked about moving back to the country where my family is from and away from the city but it would mean me giving up my job and I'm just not sure I could do that to my organization (and I actually like my job). But I agree with your old boss and the other ladies - you have to protect your own best interests and do what's right for you. @lalala2004 Have you ever tried the zzzQuil? It's my go-to when I can't sleep and doesn't have the cold/flu drugs if you don't need those. @nitnat007 That's awful not being able to get ahold of him! How often does he come home? @SkilledSailor Is fertility yoga much different from a regular yoga? I feel like I am not zen enough to do yoga as part of a group - I'm pretty sure the giggles and grunts I make when trying to get into the poses would be disruptive to other people, lol!
Month/Cycle: About to be 9/14 (5 benched)
CD: 28 - Wfaf which should be today or tomorrow.
WAYDTGKU: All the things - although I may not temp/chart through AF this time.
R/R: Rave: It's my Friday today! Taking a 4 day weekend this weekend and spending some time with family and friends. Rant: AF should have started this morning and didn't - temps are way back down, cramps are in high force, everything else is as normal. I was surprised by how late I O'd last month though so I think that may be the delay, as much as I hate her i really hope she comes by tomorrow so I can move onto the next cycle officially.
CS/Q: Not today
GTKY: What is your favorite album/CD and why? Oh jeez, I have no idea. My taste in music is all over the place so I don't think I could narrow it down to just one. If I absolutely had to I would likely say something by Willie Nelson - he was my dad's favourite and I grew up on him and still love road-tripping with him!
@offtoneverland OMG! I thought I was the only person who had ever seen The Last Five Years! I stumbled across the movie on Netflix over the summer, and I love it so much! Trying to make MH watch it, but he's not a fan of musicals. @lalala2004 Excellent taste in music my friend. @nitnat007 Sorry you haven't been able to talk to YH. That's rough. @SkilledSailor I'll be thinking of you today with your HSG! Let us know how it goes. @Stargazer1lily Wow, I thought it was cold here today at 19F, but you've definitely got me beat! Stay warm! @elolin Your four day weekend sounds great! Enjoy. ----------------------------
Month/Cycle: 9/9
CD: 8
WAYDTGKU: letrozole + ovidrel trigger + IUI
R/R: Yesterday kicked my butt! I was going non-stop from 7am to 6pm at work, but then I got to go to acupuncture, so that was a nice end to the day. My acupuncturist was really supportive and excited that we're trying a medicated IUI cycle, so that was very affirming and felt good. Today is looking much less crazy, but I have to put air in one of my tires because it's super low and I hate having to do that. I usually make MH do it, but he's at work. Sigh.
CS/Q: AF was longer than it has been lately this month, more like it used to be years ago. Not sure if that's due to the letrozole, the acupuncture, the fact that I switched from advil to tylenol for cramps, or what. I'm in the waiting zone now though - done with letrozole, waiting for monitoring on Sunday.
GTKY: What is your favorite album/CD and why? I'm with @lalala2004 - it's either the Beatles Revolver or Rubber Soul. If I had to pick a non-Beatles album, probably Sci Fi Lullabies by the British group Suede (best of the 90s britpop groups).
@offtoneverland Sorry about the xBox. Good Luck with your job searching and your boss is right, your happiness is important. @SkilledSailor Good Luck with the HSG! I’m hoping to see TSO live this year. @Stargazer1lily stay warm and safe! @elolin Yay for long weekends!!! HopefullyAF corporates!
@elolin I have been pretty stuffy with sinus headaches as well, so I wasn't just taking it to sleep! But I hoped it would help. I think it's finally starting to wear off. Confession: I didn't measure it and just took a quick swig from the bottle. I usually only drink a half dose. I was too lazy to measure it out and wash the cup
Here's hoping AF shows herself soon so you can be on to the next cycle!
@darkstar42 yes! I feel like Revolver is a somewhat overlooked album. I feel like Sgt. Peppers and Abbey Road seem to get the most love. They are great albums, but I feel like Revolver was their creative peak in a lyrical sense.
WAYDTGKU: I’ll start temping after AF. Pnvs, folic acid, Coq10, Pom juice, I’m debating opks this month
R/R: Rave-DSD musical opens tonight. They’re doing The Little Mermaid I’m excited to go see her perform and sing. Rave-I was expecting my in laws Saturday but looks like they’ll be here tomorrow afternoon.
CS/Q: Nothing yet
GTKY: What is your favorite album/CD and why? Wow I can’t really say I go through phases. Right now I’m stuck on Carries Underwood’s hits from her first decade. Stuck Vince Garaldis Charlie Brown Christmas in this week though and will stick in Pentatonix later today probably
@offtoneverland Good Luck looking. I hope you find something that will make you happy, or a way to make yourself happy at your current job. @SkilledSailor I'm jealous of you getting to see TSO. I love their songs. Month/Cycle:
CD: 15
WAYDTGKU: All the things
R/R: Rant: I got cock-blocked last night. Rave: Its almost Friday.

CS/Q: Nothing yet, although at least my temps are still dropping (still on AF).
GTKY: What is your favorite album/CD and why? Soooo cheesy but the Mamma Mia! soundtrack. I am obsessed with the movie and the soundtrack.
@offtoneverland I agree with the others re: your old boss's advice. I think as employees we tend to be way too loyal, whereas employers do not feel the same. Or at least I know mine would dump me if they needed to and feel no remorse.
@elolin Enjoy the long weekend, that sounds amazing!
@darkstar42 Ugh I hate dealing with car stuff. My battery is currently dead/probably dunzo and I am hoping my mom and DH can get it fixed for me this weekend when I am out of town. I am currently Lyfting to everything because I can't take time off work to get it fixed and it is the suck.

Hi all! New to posting here - I've been posting in TFAS and lurking here until I figured out what was going on with my cycle.
Month/Cycle: 2/2
CD: 2
WAYDTGKU: Temping, Charting, PNV, waiting for AF to go away.
R/R: My cycle has been really wonky but this month AF showed up right on time, which was disappointing of course, but also helpful because it means I may be back to a "normal" cycle! Hooray!
CS/Q: I'm new to temping. I know you are supposed to do it first thing in the morning, but how strict are you all with this? Some days I wake up around 6:30, some days I wake up at 5:30 if I exercise before work. Will the hour difference matter? I hate to set an alarm just to take my temperature.
GTKY: What is your favorite album/CD and why? Ooh. This is so tough. My music selection is extremely varied but I guess I'd pick something like John Mayer - Continuum because it's just one of those albums that takes me back to my college days.
@juliebird6 Sorry for AF, but I'm super glad to hear that your cycles is hopefully back to normal. About your question, I'm pretty sure that all of us here set alarms in order to temp in the morning. It's really important to take it at the same time every day if you can. I set mine for the earliest I ever wake up, and several days a week I take my temp and just go back to bed until I actually need to get up. You could try it out and see if the hour difference matters much in the overall pattern you see. @legallykate The weather here has me feeling really unmotivated too! I'm so tired of the rain. Hope your hair appointment goes well! What are you having done? @princesslockness Sorry at the failed attempt last night. I hope you have better luck tonight! @kindbytealikat Sorry for AF. The musical tonight sounds like so much fun though! Enjoy! @lalala2004 I hope you feel better soon! I didn't love The Last Five Years movie, but I hope you still enjoy it. I think the music is great still, but some of the choreography was awkward (sitting on a park bench and singing...a little boring). Still worth the watch though. @nitnat007 Oh no! I hope you can get in touch with YH soon. That's such a bummer. I hope you're not too lonely. @SkilledSailor Good luck at your HSG today! Please let us know how it goes. Also, I love Trans-Siberian Orchestra! The concert sounds amazing. @elolin Where is your family from where you've considered moving to? That's great that you love your job so much. Hopefully you don't have to leave the job any time soon. Also I hope AF comes soon for you so you can be out of limbo! @darkstar42 So glad to find another person who loves the Last Five Years! The original soundtrack is great too if you ever get the chance to listen to it. I had to put air in one of my tires the other day too. I hate doing that! DH got new tires and they filled them with nitrogen so they're less susceptible to air pressure changes. I really want to get that done to my car too to save time getting the tires filled all the time.
@SkilledSailor. GL with the HSG today! Let us know how it goes. @darkstar42. So sorry about the car troubles! @juliebird6 Welcome! I agree with @offtoneverland. If you temp at the same time each day, your temperature and chart will be most reliable. Whether charting by hand or an online app, taking the bbt at the same time each morning should allow you to identify the cover line as well as a clear rise in temperature that helps you pinpoint O. I just set my alarm for the earliest time I would ever wake up (I.e. 5am). Some mornings I actually get up at 5am to go for a run, other mornings I will just take my temp and go back to sleep. (FWIW, I don’t temp during AF as temps can be erratic and I don’t find the data particularly helpful/essential at that point in the cycle). There are a few online calculators that can help you adjust your temps if you do temp at varying times. I’m not sure how accurate they are, but that is another option. GL!
@SkilledSailor Sounds like a fun day. FX for your HSG this afternoon. Hope it goes smoothly.
@elolin Thanks. The trips all vary, this one was scheduled for 4 weeks. The next one is a big one mid-January for six months. Sorry about the cramps! Hope that you have an amazing four day weekend though.
@darkstar42 I hear you on the tire thing. MH car has a slow leak in one of the tires and I feel like every time I look at that car I have to fill it again. This trip I left it for him to deal with when he gets home. It does need new tires though. So glad to hear that your acupuncturist is supportive of the IUI as well. I am so excited for you!
@kindbytealikat Aww that sounds really cute. Hope it is a great show.
@legallykate They seemed to have fixed the internet now, so he is getting emails again. They wont be back in port until next Friday though and that is when he flies home. Yay! Enjoy the pampering getting your hair done. Doing anything wild and adventurous?
@juliebird06 Sorry for AF. On temping, I personally dont seem much of a change within an hour time frame. I focus more on getting decent solid sleep before waking up and taking my temp. But everyone is affected differently. Once you see the pattern emerging you will know what your norms are and how much of a difference it makes. Initially I would aim to be as close to the same time as possible though. GL
@offtoneverland I am hanging in there. Not my first rodeo lol. During the week it isnt too bad, but weekends are when I really feel it. Thanks friend!
@offtoneverland I love musicals and I also love Anna Kendrick. Going to find that one on Netflix this weekend! I agree with everyone else about your job. Find something you love and don't feel guilty about leaving this one behind! @lalala2004 have you tried melatonin? It helps me sleep through the night without feeling groggy the next day. @nitnat007 My H loves Crosby Stills Nash and Young. He listens to alot of older music and I've enjoyed getting to know more artists from the 60s and 70s since we've been together. @SkilledSailor Sending hugs and good vibes on HSG day @juliebird6 LOVE John Mayer. Continuum takes me right back to college too.
Month/Cycle: 2/2

WAYDTGKU: CBE Monitor, HIO
R/R: Rave - I had an hour massage on my lunch break today. I feel like a million bucks! Also, H came home last night after being gone for a week on a guys "hunting" (aka drinking and shooting guns) trip to Colorado. I'm so glad he's back!
CS/Q: Nope
GTKY: What is your favorite album/CD and why? I'm really more of a Pandora person. I rarely listen to full albums and my Pandora stations are all over the place. But there is this one album I listen to frequently. It's called "I Am Thine" by Jai Jagdeesh. It's Hindi chant music. I'm not Hindu nor do I enjoy religious music, but I do love guided meditation and all things calm. I listen to this when I need to just chill out or relax. It's truly soothing and beautiful.
Me: 32 H: 34 DS #1: 8/10/11, DS #2: 10/13/14 TTC #3 since October 2017
@darkstar42 Does acupuncture hurt? I am such a baby about needles - I've looked into it but the idea of being a human pin cushion scares me. @lalala2004 I also rarely carefully measure out NyQuil - washing that tiny cup is a waste of my efforts when sick! @kindbytealikat Have fun at the musical...that sounds like so much fun! @princesslockness Cock-blocking is not okay when TTC - its their ONE job (and it's the best one)! @legallykate Woohoo hair appointments! I made one a few weeks back and the earliest I could get in was December 14 - it feels like so long away! @juliebird6 Normal cycles are always the first step - definitely sucks to see AF but when TTC is about the only time I'm happy to see it show on time! I wake up between 1-1:30 every night to pee so that's when I temp as I usually don't sleep well afterwards. I think within an hour range is ok for some people and for some people it's more important that they get the solid chunk before temping. @offtoneverland My family is in the southern interior of BC - much more rural than where I am now (in the Lower Mainland on the coast). @jellybean0110 I'm so jealous of your massage! Although I always think it sounds like a great idea until I remember I hate strangers touching me.
@elolin It's super basic yoga. I've only been to the one with this teacher but from what I've seen it mostly focuses on hip openers to help with fertility, balance postures to help de-stress the mind, and some meditation/mindfulness. What I like is that everyone there is seeking fertility treatments and is supportive. The teacher also offers a lot of position options based on where you are in your cycle or if you've recently had treatments done.
@darkstar42 It sounds like you've been receiving a lot of support for this IUI cycle! That's so encouraging! Haha, I make H do my car maintenance too. Hope the rest of your day is going better than yesterday.
@kindbytealikat I love that your in-laws arriving early is a rave for you! So sweet. Doing anything special with them while they're in town?
@princesslockness I am SO excited to see TSO. It's my Christmas present from H. I've been wanting to see them for 11 years and every year there's a reason I/we can't do it.
@jellybean0110 Girl, an hour long massage on your lunch break sounds perfect! I'm also a Pandora person. I like a mix of music usually.
AFM: The HSG was painful but I made it. They found scarring blocking my left tube. I've long suspected something was wrong because I've had pain in that area for YEARS. I'm obviously disappointed that we basically just found out we have half the opportunities to get pregnant than the average couple but I also feel so validated. It's a weird mix of emotions.
@lalala2004 I totally agree! There is no Beatles album I
dislike, but the most famous ones are necessarily the best! I also love Beatles
for Sale, which is a fabulous early album that no one seems to know about.
@kindbytealikat Sorry for cd 1. I Charlie Brown’s
Christmas. I need to put that cd on too!
@legallykate Yuck, sorry for your car issues! That is no fun
at all. I put air in my tires this morning, and I’m just keeping my fingers
crossed that they’ll still be full when I leave work! I really don’t want to
have to deal with a hole in a tire.
@juliebird6 Hi and welcome! I actually don’t set an alarm
for temping. I naturally wake up between 5:15 and 6am, and I just temp when I
wake up. I find that I can still easily see a shift for O as long as I’m temping
within a one hour range. I would set an alarm when you are new to temping
though, until you figure out how quickly your temp shifts.
@offtoneverland I’ll keep an eye out for the soundtrack to
The Last Five Years!
@dukestar5 Thanks, friend! I got it sorted out, I think.
Put air the tires this morning, and we’ll see if it’s still there when I leave
work!
@nitnat007 I need new tires anyway, so this is just pushing
me to get them sooner. I’m going to get snow tires and toss these ones, then
get new all seasons in spring. The joys of winter weather!
@jellybean0110 So jealous of your massage! That sounds
glorious.
@elolin It really doesn’t hurt! There a few points that are
sore for a couple seconds, but that’s it. Of the couple dozen needles in me
last night, I’d say two hurt going in, but really only for a few seconds. After
that you don’t even feel them.
@SkilledSailor You’re really making me want to go to
fertility yoga! I’m nervous about going by myself though, because I’m super shy
when it comes to trying new classes and things like that. Today has definitely
been less hectic than yesterday, so that’s good! I’m sorry to hear that you
have a blocked tube, but I totally understand what you mean about feeling
validated. Does this mean you’ll want to do an IUI or meds, or will you keep
trying on your own? Remind me, have you already had bw done?
@darkstar42 I highly recommend fertility yoga! I mean, don't expect a workout but it's so nice to have another TTC safe-space outside of this board. As for treatment options, we're not sure. We're still waiting on H's SA results. We haven't done BW yet. If the RE says IUI would increase our chances at all we'll probably go that route first since we have three of those mostly covered by insurance. From my googling IVF would be the main treatment for it and we just don't have the money for that right now. We meet with the RE in 2.5 weeks to discuss options and results further. It wasn't my doctor who did the HSG today.
@SkilledSailor. I’m sorry the experience was painful. Rest up tonight. I’m sure it is a mix of emotions—frustrating that you’ve been trying and unaware of this issue that might have been corrected earlier, but i’m sure you also thankful to know about it now and be able to plan. Did the HSG clear the tube? Or did your doctor recommend a follow up procedure or surgery?
@SkilledSailor Thank you for the update. I'm sorry to hear about your blocked tube, but I understand what you mean about feeling validated. Even though you don't want something to be wrong, it's nice to finally have an answer to the pain you'd been having for a long time and also as to possibly why you're not KU yet. I'll be thinking about you as you wait for YH's SA results and figure out what the next steps are.
@dukestar5 Thanks love. The tube is definitely still blocked. It was a different RE who did the HSG today so I basically just wait until we meet with our RE on the 28th to discuss treatment options.
@SkilledSailor Oh be kind to yourself tonight friend! So sorry that it was painful and to hear that news. Although, like you said, there is some relief that comes with it. Mixed emotions for sure. I hope that the next meeting with your RE comes quickly and you get the answers you need. *hugs*

@offtoneverland I really like your old boss' advice. You have to take care of you. As an employee I would get nervous about quitting and inconveniencing others.
Enjoy.

@SkilledSailor Good Luck with the HSG! I’m hoping to see TSO live this year.
@Stargazer1lily stay warm and safe!

CD: 1

@offtoneverland I agree with the others re: your old boss's advice. I think as employees we tend to be way too loyal, whereas employers do not feel the same. Or at least I know mine would dump me if they needed to and feel no remorse.

@nitnat007 That's frustrating not being able to talk to YH much. Will the boat be moving into a better location soon?

@darkstar42 Ugh I hate dealing with car stuff. My battery is currently dead/probably dunzo and I am hoping my mom and DH can get it fixed for me this weekend when I am out of town. I am currently Lyfting to everything because I can't take time off work to get it fixed and it is the suck.

@legallykate The weather here has me feeling really unmotivated too! I'm so tired of the rain. Hope your hair appointment goes well! What are you having done?
@princesslockness Sorry at the failed attempt last night.
@kindbytealikat Sorry for AF.

@SkilledSailor Sending hugs and good vibes on HSG day
@juliebird6 LOVE John Mayer. Continuum takes me right back to college too.

There is no Beatles album I dislike, but the most famous ones are necessarily the best! I also love Beatles for Sale, which is a fabulous early album that no one seems to know about.
@kindbytealikat Sorry for cd 1. I
Charlie Brown’s
Christmas. I need to put that cd on too!
@princesslockness Yay for nearly Friday!
@legallykate Yuck, sorry for your car issues! That is no fun at all. I put air in my tires this morning, and I’m just keeping my fingers crossed that they’ll still be full when I leave work! I really don’t want to have to deal with a hole in a tire.
@juliebird6 Hi and welcome! I actually don’t set an alarm for temping. I naturally wake up between 5:15 and 6am, and I just temp when I wake up. I find that I can still easily see a shift for O as long as I’m temping within a one hour range. I would set an alarm when you are new to temping though, until you figure out how quickly your temp shifts.
@offtoneverland I’ll keep an eye out for the soundtrack to The Last Five Years!
@dukestar5 Thanks, friend! I got it sorted out, I think.
Put air the tires this morning, and we’ll see if it’s still there when I leave
work!
@nitnat007 I need new tires anyway, so this is just pushing me to get them sooner. I’m going to get snow tires and toss these ones, then get new all seasons in spring. The joys of winter weather!
@jellybean0110 So jealous of your massage! That sounds glorious.
@elolin It really doesn’t hurt! There a few points that are sore for a couple seconds, but that’s it. Of the couple dozen needles in me last night, I’d say two hurt going in, but really only for a few seconds. After that you don’t even feel them.
@SkilledSailor You’re really making me want to go to fertility yoga! I’m nervous about going by myself though, because I’m super shy when it comes to trying new classes and things like that. Today has definitely been less hectic than yesterday, so that’s good! I’m sorry to hear that you have a blocked tube, but I totally understand what you mean about feeling validated. Does this mean you’ll want to do an IUI or meds, or will you keep trying on your own? Remind me, have you already had bw done?
