Re: PGAL Check-In Week of 11/1

  • How far along are you?  14w1d.  Out of first tri woo!

    Any appointments coming up?
I have my follow up MFM appt next Tuesday.  Still taking forever to get here.

    Rants/Raves/Questions?
    Not at the moment.

    How are you doing?
Doing okay I guess.  I know I keep saying it, but I really hate this waiting part.

    GTKY:
What was the best compliment you’ve received? I have gotten a lot of compliments on my smile.

    Any appointments coming up?
I see my regular OB on 11/9 and we see my uncle again on 11/11 to find out the sex of the baby.  The appointment on 11/11 will be a full house and double as our "reveal."  MIL, FIL, my mom, DS, DH, my grandparents, my aunt, and my uncle (the perinatologist) will all be there with us.

    Rants/Raves/Questions?
Rant- Still puking.... I would love for that to stop.  Rave- World Series Game 7!  This has been some great baseball.  Also, DS and his BFF were so great last night with trick-or-treating.  They were so polite and really understood the concept this year.

    How are you doing?
Physically, I am less tired, but I am still getting sick.  Mentally, I am okay right now, but I am sure my anxiety will increase as 11/9 gets closer.  I always get really nervous right before appointments.

    GTKY:
What was the best compliment you’ve received? It was probably when I left the classroom to take my current job.  One of the teachers on our campus, who is like a teacher-god, had a son who was coming to the school the next year.  He told me he was sad I was leaving because he was really looking forward to his son being in my class.  It meant a lot coming from someone who had been the state Teacher of the Year multiple times and that I had so much professional respect for.

    Any appointments coming up?
    No, not for a month.

    Rants/Raves/Questions?
I'm happy I got out of an annoying (and potentially harmful) task at work this morning.

    How are you doing?
    Good.

    GTKY:
What was the best compliment you’ve received?
Hm, I can only think of work or school praise at the moment, but nothing recent is share worthy.

    Any appointments coming up?
Had one yesterday! (Heard the heartbeat) Next one is in early December.
    Rants/Raves/Questions?
Rants- annoying people at work. Also I took my vitamin ans then did my 1+ hour drive to work and ate a banana when I realized I hadn't eaten yet...well too late. I puked 3 times outside of my work! Luckily I go early and it was dark, with few people around. First time puking too!
    Raves- Halloween candy - yum!!
Questions- I'm super confused. Is 2nd trimester at 13 weeks? Or 14 weeks?

    How are you doing?
Minus the random puking today, a bit better. Still feeling sick and quite tired, but I'm emotionally feeling so much better and more confident. I'm starting to actually enjoy this and get out of my head!

    GTKY:
What was the best compliment you’ve received?
oh gosh...not sure. I find it such a nice compliment when some says something positive about you and you thought you didn't possess that trait.
  • @mileswithmyles, super packed house!  It'll be a great time though.
@babys_2018, I thought it was like 13 weeks and a couple of days.

    How far along are you?
11w4d, I'm the "baby" of the group apparently!

    Any appointments coming up?
Not until the week of Thanksgiving. The look of shock on my mom's face was priceless when I told her. I guess she was also used to lots if appointments for me.

    Rants/Raves/Questions?
Rant- My kids are either getting sick or getting molars or have lost their minds.
Rave- Grandma is taking them overnight Saturday so we can get some things done around the house and so we can get some actual sleep.

    How are you doing?
Doing pretty well. I'm not really stressing yet about the next appointment and I can tell my uterus is coming in strong so I take that as a good sign. I am also excited because our photographer said she should have our announcement photos done today! If that's the case, then we'll be completely public in less than 24 hours!!!
I do have a question regarding this. I have a Facebook friend/neighbor's daughter who messaged me earlier this week to discuss 2 recent miscarriages. She has no one else in her life that she knows has suffered a loss and since I am very public about ours and have posted I'm there for people to talk, she reached out to me. I feel awful. They've had 2 losses basically back to back this year. This second one was a twin pregnancy where one was molar and basically caused the other to miscarry. Her hcg levels are not dropping and the doctors mentioned she may need chemo. They'll be testing her hcg over 6 months to determine what to do.
I have never heard of this. Have any of you heard of this? I was completely at a loss as to what to say to her about that aspect.
I am also wondering your thoughts on messaging her a heads up that she may want to block me for awhile so she doesn't see our announcement keep popping up on her newsfeed, but DH thinks that it's a little much to send her a kind of personal announcement like that.

    GTKY:
What was the best compliment you’ve received?
My husband likes to tell me how great of a mom I am and how much he appreciates all I do during the day with our kids. And I think that's the sweetest thing.
  • @suchaglencoco yikes that sounds tough for your friend. It nice that you're able to provide some support to her! I don't have anything helpful to contribute about her specific situation and the hcg levels but I think you should give her the heads up you were thinking. Maybe let her know that if she needs space or to block you, you understand but that you wanted to give her the opportunity to process it and decide what is best for her. ??
  • @suchaglencoco I had a coworker who recently had a Molar pregnancy. They didnt know she had a molar until she chose to miscarry on her own and she almost bled to death. Her levels actually are dropping after an emergency D&C so she doesnt have to go through all that testing. But she cant try for 6 months.

Any appointments coming up? Today with the MFM

Rants/Raves/Questions? WORLD SERIES BABYYYYY!!!!! DH was so excited last night that he almost work DD up and spent two hours in line at Academy to get apparel. I am happy he was excited but that resulted in me not going to bed until 2am then DD woke up at 5am and I had to be at work at 8am. He on the other hand can chill all day. Also DH was so excited he was texting one of our close friends who I wanted to wait to tell until we saw them in person but his excitement took over and just texted we are expecting.

I know with all of our history's we really want healthy babies but I have total mom guilt for hoping this is a girl despite everyone else wishing its a boy. Am I the only one?
    How are you doing?
I am doing good just ready to officially be in the 2nd trimester.
    GTKY:
What was the best compliment you’ve received?DH complimenting me on being a great mother and my glow.
  • Hi ladies! I am so, so sorry that I have been MIA lately. I have been super busy, traveling for work, traveling on the weekends and going to conferences, etc. I've been too exhausted to check my app at night when I normally would and I haven't been physically at work much to sneak in some time here. I have thought about you often and I'm pretty sure my life has slowed down enough for a while to actively participate again.

    Any appointments coming up?
I just had an appointment on Tuesday and my doctor said everything was perfect. No appointment until 11/27, but I do need to get my thyroid levels checked in the next couple of days.

    Rants/Raves/Questions?
I'm just really happy I made it through Las Vegas with co-workers. Luckily I have never hung out with them socially, so they didn't know what "normal" drinking was for me. I asked one cocktail waitress to make me a fake mixed drink because I am pregnant and she squealed and hugged me and said she loved when people told her that. I said "My co-workers are right there." and of course one of them asked me what that was all about. I was like "Uh, I dunno...she got excited when I told her to make me something sweet.

We've told a handful of people now. We were at our college reunion and since I wasn't drinking and we were around people we never see, we told them. Two of my friends got the whole story as they have both been through losses.

    How are you doing?
I'm feeling really good mentally. The two appointments I've had have went really well and I'm having enough symptoms to be reassuring. I get gaggy if I don't eat enough. Also been getting more night sickness than anything. I threw up for the first time on Saturday. Nothing too bad, though.

    GTKY:
What was the best compliment you’ve received? Gosh, I don't even know.
  • @sparklingdiamond 9 long months of waiting. I hear ya!

@mileswithmyles  I can’t believe you’re still sick. So sorry, that sucks! I wouldn’t be able to function.

@babys_2018  I agree with the thought about compliments on something you didn’t think you had. I also like when the compliment isn’t superficial about your clothes or the way you look.

@suchaglencoco  I’ve heard Compkete molars are pretty bad and can take a long time to bounce back from and most times your advises to wait a year to ttc. I would play it safe and maybe just block her from the announcement as well as tell her you are announcing. Such s hard position.

@GeekBeagle  glad you are doing well!

    afm

ive had sever breakthrough anxiety for absolutely no reason the past week. I had a full blown panic attack Thursday night which has kind of set me down a road or worry about when the next one will happen.

I see see my therapist tomorrow so I hope she can shed some light on why this is happening. It’s gotta be something to do with this pregnancy actually happening. After all the losses I just assumed this one would end too.

Anyhow I just started running again so I hope the exercise will help with the daily meditation.  I had having bad nerves and really hope I can resolve whatever underlying problem is festering in my subconscious.

  • @justsuzie sorry to hear about attack. I think it's great you're able to see your therapist and I hope that provides you with some calm and peace of mind. You're doing great so far (we all are!) and just think about all the milestones you've already accomplished. I hope you're doing OK and it doesn't happen again.
  • @justsuzie I'm sorry you have been feeling more anxious and panic attacks on top of everything else. I hope seeing that cute bump grow every week is helpful to you!  I was on the verge of panic attack Sunday so I can't imagine actually having one. I haven't participated in the mental check in threads in case of it triggering me, but I'm glad you can see your therapist soon!
  • Thanks for your input, ladies. I did give her a heads up and she seemed very excited for us and kept asking questions.
I still feel just sick about her situation.

@justsuzie, I'm sorry you'e having such a hard time right now. I hope talking to your therapist will help.
  • @justsuzie bug hugs, my friend

@suchaglencoco That's so upsetting.  I am glad she felt like she could go to you and that she had a good reaction to your news.  I'll keep her in my thoughts.
  • Thanks ladies. I think this stemming from telling people I’m pregnant and then thinking about the “what if I have to untell them.”

THIS!!! Exactly how I feel. Hubby and I have been chatting about telling friends and I'm getting so nervous! I keep wanting to wait longer and longer for that reason. At some point though I know I need to let it go and be positive
  • @justsuzie Sorry you're experiencing this. As someone else with multiple losses, I can relate to the stress of telling people. We are starting to make it public but I don't feel ready. I've told my husband I'd like to keep it restricted a little longer. I hope your therapist meeting helps.

  • @justsuzie, I feel a "we must have jinxed it after doing xyz" several times a week. You are definitely not alone!
  • @suchaglencocoI'm so sorry for your friend. :( I had a possible partial molar pregnancy this year. Although that diagnosis is much better than a full molar, I can understand how disappointing and scary that is. I'll be keeping her in my thoughts, hopefully her HCG can drop quickly on its own and she will not need chemo. I know there are support groups online for molar/PMP pregnancies- maybe she would find comfort in one of those? So tough. I think that messaging her could be a nice heads up if you feel comfortable.
