  • How far along are you? 6w4d

What are your symptoms? Everything. Nausea, vomiting (as of this morning), sore nipples, irritability, gas, fatigue...

What appointments have you had/do you have coming up? How'd it go? First appt is 11/8. Had some blood work done Friday and Monday for light spotting, and my hcg went from 9,900 to 15,500.

    Rants/Raves? Nada.

Questions for FTM, or STM+? Nada.

GTKY: Candy talk: do you prefer chocolate, sour, sweet, or other candy? What's your absolute favourite candy? Anything you hate? Chocolate > everything else. I love Reese's the best. Black licorice can die a horrible death.

  • @izza2 I love black licorice, it is second only to chocolate for me.

How far along are you? 5w6d

What are your symptoms? My boobs were starting to get sore at the end of last week/over the weekend, yesterday they were not sore, still not sore today, and it is worrying me. I have a ton of pimples.

What appointments have you had/do you have coming up? How'd it go? I had another beta draw yesterday and am impatiently waiting for the results. We have a first u/s on Friday.

Rants/Raves? It's Halloween, and we have a giant inflatable dragon to put in our driveway, so that's pretty cool. We don't really have a front yard but if we did we would be those neighbors with a million weird holiday decorations...

Questions for FTM, or STM+? I may go over and ask this of the STMs, but have any STMs dealt with food allergies with your littles while breastfeeding? My sister is going through this right now with her four month old, the baby had blood in her stool and they are thinking it is a dairy allergy. Of course they are working with their dr and will be referred to a specialist but just wondered about any thoughts from folks who have had to do elimination diets while breastfeeding.

GTKY: Candy talk: do you prefer chocolate, sour, sweet, or other candy? What's your absolute favourite candy? Anything you hate? Love chocolate. Current favorite is reese's cups. The salty and the sweet, so good. I've found as I get older that too sweet kind of grosses me out.

    What are your symptoms?
Full/heavy breasts. Sore nipples. Constipation. Slight nausea on empty stomach. Vivid dreams (often scary or very sexy). And I'm forgetting things often! Apparently pregnancy brain is a real thing.

What appointments have you had/do you have coming up? How'd it go?
10w US appointment on 10/9. If all goes well, I think I'll finally be able to relax a little.

    Rants/Raves?
A little sad that I can't get into the spooky spirit; I don't feel the motivation or desire to watch anything scary. I guess it's good since it keeps the anxiety low.

    Questions for FTM, or STM+?
    Not at the moment.

GTKY: Candy talk: do you prefer chocolate, sour, sweet, or other candy? What's your absolute favourite candy? Anything you hate?
Chocolate all the way. It really depends on my mood, but I love Reese's. Twix and Snickers are close behind. Hate black licorice.

  • Happy Halloween!

@izza2 I second that black licorice can die. Same with grape flavored things.
@zamora_spin I had a cousin that had to deal with that with her first. I'm not sure on all the specifics but I know they narrowed it down to eggs and then they had to deal with the fact that eggs are in like everything

    How far along are you?
    7+1

What are your symptoms? sore boobs mainly. I have gotten a bit of nausea in the afternoon. Yesterday I didn't eat a single fruit or vegetable because only carbs sounded good.

What appointments have you had/do you have coming up? How'd it go? First appointment next week. I can't wait!

Rants/Raves? Halloween potluck today at work and I am pretty excited. I also get to wear jeans today so I used the hair tie trick but I don't think my pants don't fit because of anything pg related I just haven't been watching what I eat or drink for the last 3-4 months so I think that has more to do with it.

Questions for FTM, or STM+?  NATM

GTKY: Candy talk: do you prefer chocolate, sour, sweet, or other candy? What's your absolute favourite candy? Anything you hate? I can't say that I have a hands down favorite. I guess I would probably go for chocolate or just candy but it depends on my mood. I love kit kats, twix and snickers for chocolate things and skittles or starburst for candy things. As stated above anything black licorice or grape can die.

  • How far along are you?
    6 weeks today!

    What are your symptoms?
A little tired but not bad. My arm pits have been really itchy. When I was looking it up ladies were complaining about looking/feeling like a monkey which made me laugh out loud and feel better.

What appointments have you had/do you have coming up? How'd it go?
Tonight I have a class my Dr office holds. They'll be taking samples so I'm hoping to get more info on how LO is doing.  Not having an apt until 11/20 is really stressing me out.

    Rants/Raves?
Rants - I'm totally sick of our realtor. Last night I told DH I don't want to hear from the realtor unless he has an offer for us. The last feedback we got almost sent me through the roof and it's always something different that we have no control of. Rave: we carved pumpkins last night and they turned out great. We're going to go to my neighbors for dinner and hang out with everyone. Should be fun. Pumpkin pictures in spoiler

    Questions for FTM, or STM+?
Who  are you having in the delivery room with you?  For STM+ who did you have?  Are you going to do anything different this time around?

GTKY: Candy talk: do you prefer chocolate, sour, sweet, or other candy? What's your absolute favourite candy? Anything you hate?
chocolate! I love kitkats,  hate almond joys, crackles and reeses pieces.
  • How far along are you?
    6+6
    What are your symptoms?
everything. nausea, dizziness, extremely tired, sore boobs and nipples, bloated like crazy... sigh
What appointments have you had/do you have coming up? How'd it go?
had my apt to confirm pregnancy last week and everything is looking good. saw heartbeat flicker, it was too early to hear at 6+1. i have about 5 appointments set up for the next 8ish weeks and one of them being genetic counseling since I am 37. yay.
    Rants/Raves?
i feel utterly useless. my house is a mess. i have a 2-3 hour roundtrip commute to work and that plus my job leave me utterly exhausted when i finally get home.
on a positive note, my hubby has been amazing and would literally do anything do keep me comfortable. it's really cute.
    Questions for FTM, or STM+?
should i be that bloated already? i barely fit my regular pants anymore and I am only hitting 7 weeks tomorrow.
GTKY: Candy talk: do you prefer chocolate, sour, sweet, or other candy? What's your absolute favourite candy? Anything you hate?
love German and Swiss chocolate, but occasionally candy too. And chips every now and then.

  • How far along are you? 9+3

What are your symptoms? Honestly, nothing.

What appointments have you had/do you have coming up? How'd it go? Had the first ultrasound last week and everything looked good. I was measuring one day ahead, but they didn't change my due date because duh. I have the NT scan coming up the week of Thanksgiving, and I'm going to get Mat21 done in a week and a half.

Rants/Raves? A friend is coming into town on Wednesday, so we're going to get tapas on Thursday. Which I was pretty excited about until I remembered, oh, that's right, I'm pregnant, so I can't drink (which is the most fun part of tapas), and I'm vegetarian so tapas places have like 3 things I can eat (potatoes, peppers and olives lol). So I'm going to have to eat dinner before.

Questions for FTM, or STM+? I like to plan in advance, and I don't want to jump the gun on buying maternity clothes, but I sort of don't want to wait too long either. This isn't really a question because I know no one is a fortune teller, but when are you guys going to start buying mat clothes? Are you going to stop buying reg clothes in the meantime?

GTKY: Candy talk: do you prefer chocolate, sour, sweet, or other candy? What's your absolute favourite candy? Anything you hate? Ugh, honestly, anytime someone suggests candy or something now, I just need it, so IDK. This is sort of torture. I like most candies. I'm sort of a snob for chocolate brands (yes, I buy the $10/bar ones) but I honestly prefer milk chocolate from the freezer so it's crunchy. I also love gummies and sour candies.... at the movies, I always get those sour straw things. Ugh, now I want those.

@doxiemoxie212 I haven't started to buy maternity clothes (a friend did lend me a bunch but I haven't gone through them yet) but I have bought a few regular clothes that will be more accommodating of the bloat/tiny bump soon. I bought some elastic waist jeggings and a flowy tunic yesterday.

Waiting for online orders when its not Amazon Prime Same-Day is torture!

  • @doxiemoxie212 I haven't bought maternity clothes yet, but I did just order jeans from Old Navy. I wasn't sure what size I was, so bought two sized. The smaller size ended up fitting, but I kept the larger size, too - for later.

  • How far along are you? 8 weeks today (I had to look back at my calendar YAY!)

What are your symptoms? starting to think I just have side effects from the progesterone supplements and not really pregnancy symptoms (I took a 8 hour break from my typically dosing time due to not picking up my refill yesterday, and I have felt great. But I'm back on them now) all day nausea (no vomiting), sore boobs, fatigue

What appointments have you had/do you have coming up? How'd it go? none this week, next one is 11/10

Rants/Raves? I don't get off work until 7:30pm, I really want to leave by 5:30 to be able to give out candy like I usually do. I hate work.

Questions for FTM, or STM+? None, unless anyone can tell me when their doctor is letting them/ has let them off their progesterone supplements?

GTKY: Candy talk: do you prefer chocolate, sour, sweet, or other candy? What's your absolute favourite candy? Anything you hate? I love all candy but esp chocolate and fruity.

  • @doxiemoxie212 I got some new leggings the day of my BFP bc I needed them (all my old ones are faded) but also to have more comfy options. I also purchased a couple maternity button ups from Target, I returned one since I saw a cheaper option online. But I plan on wearing them pretty soon even without the bump. I kind of want to transition into maternity clothes so that my job doesn't notice I'm pregnant. I'm not sure when I'm going to tell them, and I want the option to wait as long as possible. So far my symptoms aren't bad enough to where I foresee telling them anytime this year.

  • @silvergreen I have been having vivid, scary dreams lately too.  I often wake up with a feeling of dread and it makes me so anxious!

@doxiemoxie212I plan to order some maternity jeans (I wear jeans to work) soon.  The only jeans I can wear now are really stretchy, otherwise I'll get crampy because of the pressure.  I don't think it's ever too early to get maternity clothes - you just get more use out of them right?

How far along are you?  Somewhere between 7+5 and 8+3, my doctor will confirm at my next appointment

What are your symptoms? Just a general feeling of nausea and exhaustion.  I haven't thrown up yet but I think it's because of sheer will power because I hate throwing up.  All I want to do is lie on the couch when I get home.  I'm so behind on housework.  Fortunately MH is very understanding and is doing what he can to help.  Also, I've been having really scary/intense dreams that wake me up and leave me with a feeling of dread at night that's hard to brush off.

What appointments have you had/do you have coming up? How'd it go?  I had an ultrasound last week (saw the heartbeat <3) and another on 11/21 to confirm due date and growth

Rants/Raves?  I don't want to be at work.  But I'm lucky to have a fairly unsupervised desk job that lets me play around.

    Questions for FTM, or STM+?

GTKY: Candy talk: do you prefer chocolate, sour, sweet, or other candy? What's your absolute favourite candy? Anything you hate?  I love sweet - gummies, hard candy, cupcakes, anything.  I also love all other candy, but I'll grab something gummy if I have a choice.  I don't like black licorice either but I'll eat it if it's a good n plenty.

  • @carolina-girl I've been bloated since a couple days before my BFP, I thought it was my typical PSM water retention. So I'd say bloating is a typical early sign/ symptom

@galactickates I'll have DH in the delivery room, my family lives out of state, so if my mom can be there I'd like her to be, if not maybe a local friend. My DH sucks at taking pictures, esp of me, and I'd like a few at least.

  • Thanks re: advice on mat clothes. I basically want to buy a new Northface (or whatever brand, I just call all winter clothes Northface, so great marketing, NF!) fleece thing because I ruined mine in the dryer (ugh, guys, don't put them in the dryer, fack), but I can't decide if I'll be wasting money or not. So then I'm like, okay, well maybe I just buy some really warm maternity sweaters, but my biggest pet peeve with sweaters is when they're too big in the waist because then they don't keep me warm. Sigh.
  • How far along are you?

    What are your symptoms?

Fatigue, sore breasts and just recently constipation

What appointments have you had/do you have coming up? How'd it go?

I have my first u/s on November 2nd. Hopefully everything is ok and they will confirm my due date but not really sure what to expect.

    Rants/Raves?

We haven't really told anyone yet that I am pregnant but things are starting to expand outwards already and so I am starting to look a little "chubby" and keep having people ask me if I'm gaining weight. Wtf! Why would you ask someone that? And how do you respond? "Not really. I've only gained 2 pounds it's just all in the gut."

    Questions for FTM, or STM+?

GTKY: Candy talk: do you prefer chocolate, sour, sweet, or other candy? What's your absolute favourite candy? Anything you hate?

Normally I would say chocolate and Hershey milk chocolate bars are my favorite! However, ever since I have become pregnant just the thought of chocolate makes me want to gag. Which is why I'm pretty sure it's going to be a boy lol.

I also agree that black licorice can be taken out back and shot.
  • How far along are you? 8+5

What are your symptoms? Unfortunately still nausea and lots of food aversions. I thought the medicine was helping, but not really. I'm also super irritable, but honestly that could just be a symptom of being constantly nauseous..

What appointments have you had/do you have coming up? How'd it go? Don't have another appt until 11/20

Rants/Raves?  I'm just over feeling sick all the time. I'm so useless and I hate feeling that way. Every morning I wake up thinking I'm going to be productive around the house and go to the gym, and then 2 hours later I'm curled up on the couch nibbling on saltines. I'm really ready for some second tri relief!

Questions for FTM, or STM+? Anyone else seriously struggling with morning (or all day) sickness? Any amazing remedies that maybe I haven't tried yet? I should clarify, I've tried a lot of things..

GTKY: Candy talk: do you prefer chocolate, sour, sweet, or other candy? What's your absolute favourite candy? Anything you hate? I hate most candy, but I do like chocolate. My favorite is Reese's by far.

  • @zamora_spin - With DS2 there was blood in his stool and I eliminated dairy, which cleared it up.  I nursed until he was 13 months old and he ate dairy free foods until almost 2 years old (grew out of the allergy/sensitivity).  Cutting out dairy is harder than you think because it's completely different from cutting out lactose.  She'll have to read all labels and look for: Casein, whey, or other milk byproducts.  Hint - "Non-Dairy Coffee Creamer" is NOT dairy free, it is lactose free.  It still has casein in it.  There are some good alternatives for milk, creamers, etc.  The "cheese alternatives" aren't great.  For decent recipes, have her look up vegan recipes and then feel free to add meat.  Vegan is dairy free.

@galactickates - For DS1 my mother and husband were in the delivery room (in addition to the doctor and nurses).  For DS2 it was just my husband (my mom had gone to the cafeteria for food and didn't make it back until after DS2 was born), the doctor, nurses, and about 10 to 15 other people that included medical students and emergency NICU staff.  If you can't see my signature, DS2 has a severe, complex heart defect and they weren't sure how things would go upon delivery so I knew from the get go that people would pour into the room minutes before I was allowed to push.

  • @zamora_spin DD was allergic to dairy too. She had terrible eczema until I totally emilinated dairy from my diet. Like @mytinc said, dairy is in a lot of things and makes it a bit challenging to avoid. For example, McDonalds French fries have dairy. I used Coconut milk as a substitute since I'm allergic to nuts. Earth Balance makes a good butter substitute.
DD outgrew it around a year.

    Rants/Raves?
I wish I felt more confident and at ease. Since this is my first pregnancy, there is a lot of worry going through my head and I feel like I can't be excited yet.
    Questions for FTM, or STM+?
This is my first pregnancy, but I do have an 8 year old step son who will be 9 in December. Does anyone else have large age gaps between children? Curious how my 8 year old will react to this.
