1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby? 18 weeks! Baby is the size of a sweet potato.
2. How are you feeling? Good! I think I'm actually feeling better at this point with baby #3 than I was with baby #2.
3. Any appointments coming up? Anatomy scan a week from Friday (11/10).
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions? Pretty pumped for Halloween. This is the first year DS actually understands what's going on, and he's so cute. He's been wearing his T-Rex costume around the house for weeks. DD is just happy to be included, and she'll be a little bumblebee.
5. Black Friday Shopping: "I live for it!!" or "hell no those people are cray." For our resident Canadians: how did you spend your Thanksgiving? Those people are cray. No way I'm getting in line at 3am the morning after Thanksgiving to fight someone for a $100 iPad (or whatever people buy). I'll wait for online sales and sleep off my turkey coma in my comfy bed, thankyouverymuch.
1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby? 16 weeks, size of an avocado 2. How are you feeling? Good! Still tired but I haven't had nausea for awhile now. 3. Any appointments coming up? Thursday! No idea what this appointment entails though. 4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions? I finally made myFB announcement yesterday! Posted a pic in the announcement thread. It's exciting to finally let the world know. Now I can post pictures online and people won't just think I've been eating too much lol I'm also getting anxious to actually feel this baby! Seem like it could be anytime this week? 5. Black Friday Shopping: "I live for it!!" or "hell no those people are cray." For our resident Canadians: how did you spend your Thanksgiving? I have been black Friday shopping in the past and I felt like it was really stupid. I also worked in retail for years and I always had to work black Friday so it kind of ruined the excitement for me. However, my husband and I really want to purchase some big ticket items (a new TV and a laptop). So I think we may actually venture out this Black Friday to see if we can get a good deal. It's just the two of us for Thanksgiving this year year anyway so it's not like we will be foregoing family time.
@JJMNO1616 good call on the laptop deals!! We've been narrowing down our top choice for a new family laptop for weeks now, and we're just about ready to pull the trigger. I never even thought about Black Friday deals. Will definitely wait for that! ...although I'm still not leaving my house for it. Cyber Monday it is!
I have had my eye on a Microsoft Surface for years now but the price has deterred me. However, our technology in the house is on the struggle bus so we need to make some upgrades. I was previously using a Dell laptop that I bought the day I graduated from undergrad in 2009 because the laptop I had before that blew up on me that same day this newest Dell won't connect to the internet anymore though (I guess 8 years was a good run). My husband also has a Macbook Air that is so old the internet browsers can't even be updated anymore. So I'm unable to access a lot of websites on it because they aren't compatible with the browser we have! My H still thinks $1000 for a laptop/tablet is too much but I mean... people are paying that much for an Iphone that they probably won't use nearly as long as an actual laptop/computer.
kmalls I agree that halloween will be much more fun this year because my daughter gets what's going on for the most part! 1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby? 16 weeks!! Avocado or a Pickle..these comparisons are weird, I feel like an avocado is about the size of a lemon sometimes, and that was a couple weeks ago. Oh well.
2. How are you feeling? I am feeling pretty good! Have been getting super anxious about making sure the babe is still okay in there, since I can't feel them yet, and my 1st tri symptoms are pretty much gone.
3. Any appointments coming up? Today, thank goodness! Can't wait to check on bean, make sure their heart's beating. Other then that, not sure there's anything else in this appointment that I can remember.
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions? I definitely have more energy, which is great! Rant, I have a ton of meetings this week everyday when I normally workout over lunch..which is annoying.
5. Black Friday Shopping: "I live for it!!" or "hell no those people are cray." For our resident Canadians: how did you spend your Thanksgiving? I don't go out, I do do some shopping online but I don't an a real opinion ether way
@JJMNO1616 we're in a similar situation. I have a desktop that finally kicked the bucket after almost 10 years, but we've been spoiled with a GREAT laptop that my husband's work provides. Unfortunately they recently made everyone sign a waver stating their laptops were to be used for work-related purposes only, so now we need to buy something good for our own personal use. Womp womp. Fortunately DH doesn't mind dropping a (relative) bunch on this as we've gotten away with free technology for so long, but bargain shopping is in my blood, so I'm rabidly stalking sales.
1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby? 16 weeks
2. How are you feeling? If I take my medicine and eat enough, I’m good. I’m really looking forward to that second trimester energy burst and appetite! I feel like it should be any time now if my last pregnancy is an indication.
3. Any appointments coming up? Next Tuesday!
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions? I took DD to urgent care on Thursday evening because she fell and hit her head on the shelves in her room. Turns out I overreacted and she was perfectly fine—except now she’s sick from something she likely picked up at urgent care. I’m starting to think the worrying will never end. 5. Black Friday Shopping: "I live for it!!" or "hell no those people are cray." Definitely not. I don’t really like large crowds in general—angry shoppers? Nope. Although I LOVE looking through Black Friday ads.
1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby? 17 weeks- pomegranate!
2. How are you feeling? Good- got some stretchy pains happening and peeing lots this last couple days. Finally waking up to a little shape in the belly too so that's exciting!
3. Any appointments coming up? Blood pressure check today and gender scan tomorrow
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions? I was finally able to connect with my lab supervisor this week (I work in a marine ecology lab) and was able to tell him I was pregnant! Was definitely nervous because I'm planning on starting my PhD next August, and really thought he'd be very anti "female scientist starting a crazy degree with a 4 month old"...but he was one of the most excited people id shared my news with yet. He's going to be one of my recommenders so it was super important to me that he was on my side
5. Black Friday Shopping: "I live for it!!" or "hell no those people are cray." For our resident Canadians: how did you spend your Thanksgiving?
Not a fan, but might try to get a new TV out of it this year (long shot).
1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby? 18 weeks, baby is the size of an artichoke or a baby tribble
2. How are you feeling? Ok, but eating still sucks for me. I feel hungry but nothing sounds good and when it does after just a few bites or before I can even make it I feel nauseous. Never felt like this when I was pregnant with DD. I JUST WANT TO EAT!!!!!!!!!! Also starting to feel some movement but it feels more like this baby is falcon punching my inside cause it will just be in one spot from time to time and it just feels like their fist or foot is going to shoot right through me.
3. Any appointments coming up? not until the 16th when we found out the sex
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions? We celebrated DD's 3rd birthday over the weekend. She had a lot of fun and we even went to a trunk or treat event and she loved wearing her Poppy from Trolls costume. I'm excited for tomorrow even though it will be cold will hopefully be able to hit a few streets before calling it a night.
5. Black Friday Shopping: "I live for it!!" or "hell no those people are cray." For our resident Canadians: how did you spend your Thanksgiving? I'm sort of in the middle, it's kind of exciting to go out in the hunt but people are cray cray. The only good thing about going out in it is to see all the weirdos wearing matching outfits or shirts. I'm more for the online shopping, i'm all about cyber monday @JJMNO1616 I have a Surface and I love it. So much better then any laptop I had in the past.
1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby? 14 Weeks, peach 2. How are you feeling? Good! I finally have energy again, I started meal planning and cooking again. I feel like myself. 3. Any appointments coming up? Not for a few more weeks. 4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions? I'm almost done with DS's halloween costume! He's going to be a cow, I just need to put on a button nose, some eyes, and attache the ears. This will be the first pinterest project I've actually completed. 5. Black Friday Shopping: "I live for it!!" or "hell no those people are cray." For our resident Canadians: how did you spend your Thanksgiving? I used to do midnight shopping on Black Friday at our outlet mall, but ever since I turned 30, I haven't been interested in doing it anymore. And after having a baby, it seems crazy to me now. I need all the sleep I can get considering my 2 year old is up and ready for the day around 5/6 am most days.
priestess619 - yay! finally seeing a shaped belly, I am excited about that also. Are you doing an elective sex scan or your anatomy scan early? Dumbgurl04 aww yes! I bet your daughter looked adorable, Halloween is much more fun this year with an over 2 year old. irenejean my daughter is going to be a cow too!! I got a hand me down costume from my coworker that is also homemade her kids wore it, and they are my age, so I thought that was pretty sweet.
@kmalls DD is understanding Halloween this year too! It's pretty exciting but as far as all the candy she's been getting It might be slowly disappearing at night after she goes to bed. @JJMNO1616 If we have a big ticket items we've been wanting I always just browse the black Friday deals! Hopefully you find a TV and laptop that you love and get an awesome deal on! @itsrandiyo enjoy your appointment today! @Dumbgurl04 I hope you start feeling better!
1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby? 18!
2. How are you feeling? I'm feeling good. I've got heartburn but I can deal with that.
3. Any appointments coming up? I have one tomorrow! So excited to hear baby's heart beat on the doppler. It will give me a little peace for a few days knowing everything is good.
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions? We can't decide if we will be team green or finding out. We were team green with DD but this time we are having a hard time deciding. I want to but then I don't. UGH.
5. Black Friday Shopping: "I live for it!!" or "hell no those people are cray." For our resident Canadians: how did you spend your Thanksgiving? I don't mind black Friday shopping on Friday but I don't go crazy. I'm not one to wake up super early but I'll go out in the morning and see if I can causally snag a deal.
@priestess619 Your job sounds so exciting. Good luck on your PhD!
@Dumbgurl04 Sorry you still don't have an appetIte. I have the opposite problem. I've been eating too much, specifically sugar and I need to stop!!!!
1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby? 16; an avocado
2. How are you feeling? Pretty good. Still getting headaches some. I get some pressure from time to time in the pelvis region...almost like baby girl is pushing down on it. Then it goes away.
3. Any appointments coming up? Next Wednesday for another cervix check up.
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions? At last week's appointment, the nurse asked me if I had been able to feel the baby yet. I hadn't, but honestly not sure what I would feel if I did. I've read different things on what people feel, the majority being a "flutter" which I haven't felt. However, yesterday I swear I felt a kick of some sort on my lower stomach. Haven't felt anything again, but now I'm paying extra attention to every little thing I feel.
5. Black Friday Shopping: "I live for it!!" or "hell no those people are cray." For our resident Canadians: how did you spend your Thanksgivinig? I have only done this once...a long time ago, when I was a teenager. Went with my best friend and really it was just for fun, so of course I had a good time. Last few years, I've considered going, but I've been hosting, so by the end of the day, I'm exhausted and the last thing I want to do is go out and clobber my way through selfish, bitchy people. It would totally ruin my Christmas spirit, so I just avoid it altogether.
@scuba_chic I was feeling a lot of weird things yesterday but I have no idea if it was the baby or just gas lol I have heard that the baby does feel like gas in the beginning but idk.. I'm not convinced that's what was happening.
@scuba_chic@JJMNO1616 When I was pregnant with DS the first movements I noticed were him felt like butterflies or flutters. But with this one I feel what seems like gas but I think is actually baby because there's no gas accompanying it. I'm wondering if I actually did feel DS earlier than I thought and just didn't realize it because it was my first pregnancy. I think it's definitely possible that some of the "gas" feelings you guys are having are LO. The problem is it's so hard to differentiate at this stage! 1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby? 17 weeks - pomegranate/x-box controller 2. How are you feeling? Pretty good lately except for the sciatic pain. I have more energy during the day but I'm asleep by 8pm every evening. 3. Any appointments coming up? Anatomy scan on the 17th and I can't freaking wait. 4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions? I've been battling a cold all weekend and it's so miserable not being able to take anything for it. I just want to sleep all day until it passes, but of course that's not an option. 5. Black Friday Shopping: "I live for it!!" or "hell no those people are cray." For our resident Canadians: how did you spend your Thanksgiving? A little of both. I go out later in the day and--FFC time--sometimes I go to Target late on Thanksgiving evening. I know I miss out on the best deals but I am NOT dealing with those crazy crowds.
1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby? 14, yay for 2nd tri! Peach-sized currently
2. How are you feeling? Energy level is creeping back up slowly
3. Any appointments coming up? Having an early anatomy scan at 16 weeks (11/16) due to a past cervical surgery. The past surgery can apparently have an effect on cervical length and my doctor wants to catch early if indeed it is a problem.
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions? Had DD's 1st birthday party this weekend and it was a success! Glad it's over though cause mama needs rest, lol. My OB is leaving her current practice to start her own private practice and I don't know yet if my new insurance will be accepted there. I was told that it "likely would be" but that really means nothing, of course. She's leaving her current practice at the end of Nov and starting the new one on Jan 1st. Someone from the current practice will see her patients in December, which I'm ok with...but if I need to switch OBs due to ins I would obviously much rather do it now than wait until the last minute. I love her though, so this is tough.
5.
Black Friday Shopping: "I live for it!!" or "hell no those people are
cray." For our resident Canadians: how did you spend your Thanksgiving? My sister & I used to go and we would have a blast. That was when Black Friday was actually on Friday though. Since the trend has moved toward more & more stores opening on Thursday we gave it up. I just stick to Amazon these days
@Kaessi I feel like having an October baby last year was SUPER helpful in getting Christmas shopping done early! All those all-nighters allowed me to be finished by Thanksgiving. Amazon Priming with a reflux-y newborn all night er'ry night
1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby? 15 weeks
2. How are you feeling? Trying to kick pneumonia and it's still not going so well. I've also had a lot of cramping? which I don't remember from my first two pregnancies at this stage?
3. Any appointments coming up? This Friday - just a regular appointment I think
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions? My 5 year old's reading has really taken off lately and it's super fun to see and hear!!! She's been able to do the basic BOB books and early readers and all that for a while, but now she's putting together more complicated things and it's awesome. 5. Black Friday Shopping: "I live for it!!" or "hell no those people are cray." For our resident Canadians: how did you spend your Thanksgiving? I'm not a crowd person at all, so Black Friday sounds terrifying to me. We're also usually in super small town Texas over Thanksgiving where there ISN'T anywhere to shop, so it's a very easy excuse to get out of it with friends too
@mispanda We are in the exact same boat with knowing the baby's sex. We were team green with my first, but can't decide whether to find out this time. People really seem to want us to find out, it's weird.
1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby? 16 weeks - avocado
2. How are you feeling? Pretty great, no complaints. Just extra emotional and tired by 7 pm.
3. Any appointments coming up? Blood draw on Weds, appointment in 2 weeks
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions? We finished up a marathon fall of travel for weddings and other things yesterday. I am SO happy to be staying put until Christmas. Plane travel with a toddler is no joke. Although now I'm starting to day dream about a babymoon somewhere warm ... so maybe we'll find a weekend away in December.
5. Black Friday Shopping: "I live for it!!" or "hell no those people are cray." For our resident Canadians: how did you spend your Thanksgiving? I've never participated and never been interested. It seems insane to me that people face crazy crowds in the middle of the night for a deal. I'm all about cyber Monday though!
1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby? 16 weeks, size of an avocado
2. How are you feeling? SO GOOD! No UTIs so I'm a happy lady.
3. Any appointments coming up? I had one this morning! I've got my envelope with the sex reveal sealed inside in the car right now! I can't wait to open it lol.
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions? Not today!
5.
Black Friday Shopping: "I live for it!!" or "hell no those people are
cray." For our resident Canadians: how did you spend your Thanksgiving?
I love the idea of Black Friday... but hate the execution. Like @Kaessi, we're not fans of Black Friday infringing on Thanksgiving. Leave my turkey day/family time alone! However, I like the sales and I love shopping during Christmas season. I've never been a die-hard shopper that gets up at the crack of dawn, but I have been one to venture out on Black Friday. I never get the door buster deals, cuz I don't get up early enough, but we have scored some awesome deals late morning/early afternoon on Black Friday! The nice thing about shopping at that time is that the crowds have all gone home since they were up all night shopping .
DS: EDD, December 19th, 2014. Born, December 19th, 2014! DD: EDD, July 18th, 2016. Born, July 19th, 2016!
@itsrandiyo we have an elective tomorrow! I'd been feeling pretty disconnected since I found out late so we just wanted to see the little one again . The Doppler has helped !
@scuba_chic thanks ! Trying to get through applications currently and it's such a pain ! I'm in the same boat about whether or not I'm feeling the baby. I feel "movement" but not sure if it's baby. My boyfriend and I are trying to distinguish
1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby? 14 weeks, baby is the size of a peach. 2. How are you feeling? Feeling better now! It is getting easier to eat healthier again (I only wanted carbs when I had nausea first tri). I'm hoping my energy will return soon though! 3. Any appointments coming up? 14 week appointment on Thursday. 4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions? We live in WI, and it is getting COLD. Our roof is FINALLY torn off and getting redone right now (YAY), but I am so frustrated about not being able to turn the heat on! I'm freezing! It even snowed today on the field trip I took my students on. We had three layers of shingles on our roof with the original shakes under that as well, so now that it is all taken off, we have huge gaps in the roof and it needs to be recovered in new plywood. No heat until then! 5. Black Friday Shopping: "I live for it!!" or "hell no those people are cray." For our resident Canadians: how did you spend your Thanksgiving? I "enjoy" Black Friday shopping. I refuse to stand in line all night outside Best Buy to score deals, but I love hitting Target and other places I'd go anyway to get a deal! I definitely don't live for it, but it's fun to go on an adventure with friends once in a while!
Mama to Rowan Sebastian and baby boy coming in April!
@JJMNO1616I've been feeling flutters lately. With my first I think I was about 16 weeks when I first felt DS!
@irenejean your sons costume sounds adorable! @kaymaroo and @Sissy42 hope you feel better soon! @ladythrice your self control is astonishing. I would be tearing open that envelope immediately lol 1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby? 15 weeks, orange
2. How are you feeling? Still with the wicked back pain, but the random carpal tunnel from late last week seems to have subsided. I'm bracing myself.
3. Any appointments coming up? Seeing a chiropractor for my back on Thursday!
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions? Rant, I had to park soooo far away this morning. When I have to go to this building it's legitimately a mile walk to the office. But rave: while circling the parking lot looking for a spot this morning I called my OB and requested a doctor's note so I can get a medical parking pass. When she heard how far the walk was and remembered my back issues, she agreed! Win! 5. Black Friday Shopping: "I live for it!!" or "hell no those people are cray." For our resident Canadians: how did you spend your Thanksgiving? nope, those people are cray. I'm with @kmalls all about Cyber Monday!
1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby? 17 weeks! Baby is the size of my palm
2. How are you feeling? Pretty good. I think I'm having round ligament pain, mostly on my left side. Energy is UP. I've been having CRAZY VIVID DREAMS, and a little on the Moody side sometime ☺
3. Any appointments coming up? November 6th for the anatomy scan!!!!!!!!! I can not wait! 4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions? I finally told my family. They are super excited. SO told his family and they are super excited so we're getting all the loves this week. 5. Black Friday Shopping: I will participate in online shopping, I will take a pass on going in the stores this year.
@Puddlewonderful Thank goodness you were able to get that parking pass!!!! Am I the only one shocked that expectant mother parking spaces really aren’t a thing?
Mama to Rowan Sebastian and baby boy coming in April!
1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby? 17 weeks. Pomegranates!
2. How are you feeling? If you don’t count sciatic pain that’s almost constant, I’m pretty good lol!
3. Any appointments coming up? Not until November 9th.
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions? Uh... I signed up for Amazon Prime yesterday (important order was winter stuff for the barn animals). Oh, and we had real snow flurries today. Winter can be done now.
5. Black Friday Shopping: "I live for it!!" or "hell no those people are cray." For our resident Canadians: how did you spend your Thanksgiving? I feel ‘hell no’ is an understatement. I hate shopping when there are 3 people in line, can’t deal with more.
@g_amoss How are your chickens doing? I would love to hear how you "winterize" their coop. We put some plastic around the coop since we had some snow last week, but we are planning to elevate the coop, usually we just move the coop around our yard every few days for fresh grass, and add hay. Getting hay is one of my chores for the day. The girls don't seem to mind the cold weather though so that was a relief! @danniluv So exciting about your anatomy scan coming up soon! Hope it goes well! @Puddlewonderful That's great about your medical parking pass. What a relief that'll be.
1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby? Sorry I'm a day late. 15 weeks. The size of a navel orange.
2. How are you feeling? I'm feeling pretty good! I'm getting more energy as the weeks go on and the nausea has been quite minimal. I can finally eat vegetables again, and I am so proud of myself whenever I do. RLP is quite apparent some days.
3. Any appointments coming up? We just had an appointment last week, which went very well. I need to schedule the anatomy scan but it's been rough coordinating with my husband's schedule. That's one of my goals for the day!
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions? Yesterday, my belly noticeably "popped". I heard it from a few others so it was fun to have it confirmed.
5. Black Friday Shopping: "I live for it!!" or "hell no those people are cray." For our resident Canadians: how did you spend your Thanksgiving? I do not like shopping so I avoid Black Friday at all costs. I think I'd do it if there was something in particular I really wanted but honestly, I'd likely just pay a bit more to avoid the craziness!
@dan0081 - this is our first winter with chickens. Their coop is still outside. Plan is to move it into the barn, but DH doesn’t want to do that until after Thanksgiving (we’re hosting) so family won’t be walking through chicken poo lol! I need to close off the vents right by their roost, but leaving others open. If there is a building you can tuck your coop behind I think that would be good. Maybe put up some hay bales to block the wind also. I have seen (if you have exposed studs inside) people tack up cardboard and tuck hay between cardboard and the outside boards. We’re in northern Iowa - you’re in MN, correct?
@dan0081@g_amoss we have chickens, too! This is also our first winter with them. Our coop is already elevated about 3 feet off the ground and it's hard wired for electricity, so we can screw in a heat bulb when the weather gets really cold (we're in MA). Other than that, I guess we'll just hope they adjust to the weather. We had a crazy storm the last two days with tons and tons of rain, and the coop held up great. Hopefully the snow this winter won't be a problem.
@g_amoss Yes, I'm in Minnesota. That sounds like a great plan to move the coop into the barn. It's great you can remove them from the elements and keep them a bit warmer, too. We are putting the coop close to the house in hopefully block some of the wind and snow. That's a good idea about the hay. I'm praying they do much better than our little one last year. I think I mentioned this, but she had Marek's disease so she didn't last too long once the cold months hit. I worry so much about these chickens.. I have no idea what I'll be like with a child.
@kmalls That's great you have electricity already wired up! I have read on multiple websites that chickens can adapt to many types of conditions. I'm hoping your chickens do well this first winter and like you said, hopefully the snow won't be a problem for them! I've been giving the chickens warm oatmeal mixed with their food, and they really like that. I'm hoping it warms them up, too!
@dan0081 & @kmalls - FX they all make it through! I have also read to make sure they have food at night so their metabolism is helping them stay warm, and to make sue the roosting bars are big enough that their feet fit on top so they can lay on feet to prevent frostbite. I would love pix of your coops - feel free to send PM anytime!
@g_amoss ah! I've heard the exact opposite about food. The guys at my local feed store said absolutely no food in the coop as it encourages bugs and rodents to move in. Same thing with water, because it'll create moisture in the winter and cause frostbite. It's so hard to know who to trust though, I've found a million different opinions on everything when researching online.
@dan0081 that's a good idea about warm oatmeal with their food, I'll give it a try one day!
I'll send pics of my coop once I'm home. We're leaving baby story time at the library right now
@g_amoss@kmalls I'd love to see coop pictures! I can send ours once we get it elevated and filled with hay.
I have also heard mixed reviews about food and water in the coop. Last winter, we left everything in the coop as it was more conveninent and I wanted them to have access if they woke before us. I could certainly see the potential drawbacks of leaving it in the coop though!
Everybody talking about snow and farms. I'd love for us to have an actual winter down here in S. Texas for once. We've had a few "cold" days, but its back up to the 80's. And as far as farms, I've always loved the idea of having a larger property with some farm animals, but now that our first child is on the way, for whatever reason, I have this intense desire to have her/them grow up in that type of environment as opposed to your typical suburban neighborhood. We live close enough to ranches and farms, I'm really thinking of getting to know a few of those neighbors and planning to spend a few days a week visiting and helping those neighbors with DD in tow when she's old enough.
@scuba_chic its so funny how having kids changes our thoughts on these subjects. I grew up living on acreage far away from 'civilization.' Our nearest town was super tiny and essentially had a church, school, and gas station. The town I went to HS in was a little bigger and had the nearest grocery store. I grew up wishing I lived closer to my friends and finding it annoying we lived in the middle of nowhere. DH had a similar childhood except he lived in a town that was the size of the town my HS was in, bigger, with subdivision, but still small enough his childhood was full of riding his bike to his friends' houses.
When we bought our current family home, we were looking for a nice small neighborhood, good school district, and convenient commute distance for the two of us. These needs landed us in a small subdivision, in the city limits of a major metropolitan city. With #3 on the way and #1 starting kindergarten in 2020 I've been suddenly struck with the NEED to move to a smaller town, not just a small subdivision, and give our kids a mix of the childhood DH and I grew up with. We've only been in our house for two years, but we're seriously looking at moving two years from now before DS starts kindergarten so we can get the small town feel!
[This is been on my mind non-stop for several weeks. We've even driven around towns/neighborhoods and casually perused home sales.]
DS: EDD, December 19th, 2014. Born, December 19th, 2014! DD: EDD, July 18th, 2016. Born, July 19th, 2016!
Re: Monday Ticker Change
16 weeks, size of an avocado
2. How are you feeling?
Good! Still tired but I haven't had nausea for awhile now.
3. Any appointments coming up?
Thursday! No idea what this appointment entails though.
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
I finally made my FB announcement yesterday!
I don't go out, I do do some shopping online but I don't an a real opinion ether way
16 weeks
5. Black Friday Shopping: "I live for it!!" or "hell no those people are cray."
Definitely not. I don’t really like large crowds in general—angry shoppers? Nope. Although I LOVE looking through Black Friday ads.
I'm more for the online shopping, i'm all about cyber monday
@JJMNO1616 I have a Surface and I love it. So much better then any laptop I had in the past.
14 Weeks, peach
@JJMNO1616 If we have a big ticket items we've been wanting I always just browse the black Friday deals! Hopefully you find a TV and laptop that you love and get an awesome deal on!
@itsrandiyo enjoy your appointment today!
1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby?
17 weeks - pomegranate/x-box controller
5. Black Friday Shopping: "I live for it!!" or "hell no those people are cray." For our resident Canadians: how did you spend your Thanksgiving?
My sister & I used to go and we would have a blast. That was when Black Friday was actually on Friday though. Since the trend has moved toward more & more stores opening on Thursday we gave it up. I just stick to Amazon these days
15 weeks
We're also usually in super small town Texas over Thanksgiving where there ISN'T anywhere to shop, so it's a very easy excuse to get out of it with friends too
Not today!
5. Black Friday Shopping: "I live for it!!" or "hell no those people are cray." For our resident Canadians: how did you spend your Thanksgiving?

Baby #3: EDD, April 16th, 2016
@scuba_chic thanks ! Trying to get through applications currently and it's such a pain ! I'm in the same boat about whether or not I'm feeling the baby. I feel "movement" but not sure if it's baby. My boyfriend and I are trying to distinguish
@irenejean your sons costume sounds adorable!
@kaymaroo and @Sissy42 hope you feel better soon!
@ladythrice your self control is astonishing. I would be tearing open that envelope immediately lol
5. Black Friday Shopping:
I will participate in online shopping, I will take a pass on going in the stores this year.
Mama to Rowan Sebastian and baby boy coming in April!
@dan0081 that's a good idea about warm oatmeal with their food, I'll give it a try one day!
I'll send pics of my coop once I'm home. We're leaving baby story time at the library right now
I have also heard mixed reviews about food and water in the coop. Last winter, we left everything in the coop as it was more conveninent and I wanted them to have access if they woke before us. I could certainly see the potential drawbacks of leaving it in the coop though!
