Hi! I was wondering if anyone had an opinion on which hospital is more VBAC-friendly? I was a patient of the PeaceHealth Nurse Midwives with my first child, but had to have a c-section because she was breech, and I have heard that Riverbend is more likely to push for a repeat surgery at the first issue. I'm not pregnant yet, just trying to plan ahead. Thanks! :-)
I think provider is more important in this case than actual hospital. Some OBs are heavier on the intervention side than others. Unfortunately, unless you go with Pacific Womens, you will just get whoever is on call at both McKenzie and Riverbend. I would suggest having a clear birth plan and a doula or person knowledgeable in the L&D arena to advocate for you during labor.
