Re: Due Date Check-in (wk of 10/23): Third Week of May 5/13-5/19
What symptoms are you having? increased appetite, nausea, back pain, and bloating.
Rants/Raves: another week closer to being out the 1st trimester
Any questions this week? Any other STMs have trouble keeping their kiddos from elbowing and kicking them around their stomach.
GTKY: What was your first job and what lessons did you learn from it? Chick fil a was my first job and I learned if you treat your employees well they will have great customer service.
What symptoms are you having? the only way to describe it is gestational asthma... is that a thing? I'm very wheezy and out of breath easily. Never had asthma before, and despite being extra fluffy I'm actually in decent shape
Rants/Raves: I'm transferring positions at work! I'm so excited. My position was made into a corporate position last year which could be good in most companies, terrible in ours. This will put me back under local management, has the potential to become a supervisor position in the relatively near future and will have soooo much more flexibility when it comes to time off with our kids/appointments and leave with this baby
Any questions this week? Anyone ever had/know someone with gestational asthma? lol
GTKY: What was your first job and what lessons did you learn from it? my first job was as a recreational activity planner at a nursing home. It was a volunteer position but it taught me a lot about planning and responsibility (I was like 11 at the time. service hours for school)
My first paid position was as a zoo keeper when I was 14. The experiences I gained from that are priceless. I have a wealth of animal knowledge, I learned that even though I hate it I'm actually a pretty decent public speaker and it continued to be part of my job for the next 5 years. I learned a lot about customer service and staff management. I could go on forever. I sadly didn't leave on the greatest of terms, but I will be forever grateful for the opportunities I was given there.

Congratulations! That's awesome to hear about your promotion. I hope you learn to love the new job!
How far along: 10 w 5 d Woot woot!
Symptoms: I'm definitely starting to feel better. Getting less picky about food and some of the fatigue is lifting some days but I've already started round ligament pain every once and a while and the heartburn is kicking in too.
Rants/Raves:
This week is conferences at my school and I only have students for two days. So glad! I even get the day off on Friday as a Compensation day for staying late for conferences and I have my 12 week appointment (I'll only be 11w3d but they said that's okay).
I've also been volunteering with a prolife group that shows kids ultrasounds of babies in the womb so they can see what they look like while forming. They have a really cool mission and I'm happy to help but mostly I just love getting extra peeks at baby
First Job: My first job was as a swim teacher. I hated it and it only paid $5 an hour but I got to hang out with my friends during the summer and it was pretty cute to teach little kids how to put their faces in the water. Mostly I just didn't like being at an indoor pool when I could have been teaching outside!

Hey All!
How far along are you? What size is baby this week?
I am 10 weeks and 7 days. I'm falling between 5/12 and 5/13 so I just decided to post here.
What symptoms are you having? They are slowly subsiding! I thought the nausea and tiredness would never stop. Although I am still feeling a bit tired more easily and frequently.
Rants/Raves: I ran a 5k on Saturday which I really thought I would not do because I haven't worked out due to all the morning/afternoon/all day sickness. However, it was my sister's first time running one and she's on a health kick so I wanted to be there and share the moment with her. It ended up being a lot of fun and gave me some much needed endorphins and encouragement.
Any questions this week?
Nope, no questions. I will be receiving blood test results which should tell me the baby's sex so I'm excited to find out!
GTKY: What was your first job and what lessons did you learn from it? My first job was working at a summer camp. The kids were awesome, but the adults on the other hand were assholes. I remember trying to play with this little girl that was a bit awkward and singled out by the other kids. One adult counselor told me I was doting on her too much and that wasn't a good thing. I was just trying to make her feel included. I guess the lesson there was that adults weren't always right.
I have a sinus infection and respiratory infection. I feel terrible. I can't sit up for very long at a time. It's covering everything else.
I think my first job was as a camp counselor. I learned being a camper was much more fun.
What symptoms are you having? Lingering nausea.
Rants/Raves: Midwide checkup yesterday she could not find a heartbeat with the Doppler
Any questions this week? Not really, just trying to hold on.
GTKY: What was your first job and what lessons did you learn from it? Cook at Burger King at 16. A swim cap does not infact cover the fact that you dyed your hair blue, despite a dress code against unnatural colors... also I was a vegetarian at the time so wtf was I even doing there?!?
How far along are you? What size is baby this week? 11wk on thurs, due 5/17. I think a raspberry?
What symptoms are you having? Mostly just extreme nausea and a little bit of back pain is starting (yay...)
Rants/Raves: I'm traveling for work for a couple days and it's really exhausting and limits my bump time!
Any questions this week? I don't think so
GTKY: What was your first job and what lessons did you learn from it? My first paid job was at a library. I put books away, checked people out, helped with the kids programs, etc. It was an awesome job when all my friends were lifeguarding and summer camp counseling in the heat and I got to chill in AC! It taught me a lot about customer service. You'd be surprised how amped people get about paying a $.20 fine to a tiny library that could really use the money.

What symptoms are you having? Symptoms seem to be tapering off right now, still occasionally nauseous and had some rlp this morning.
GTKY: What was your first job and what lessons did you learn from it? My first job was working front desk at a smallish hotel. I learned alot about multi tasking and customer service. Nothing says you better learn fast like being left in charge of a fully booked hotel of 60 rooms, not enough laundry and half the rooms were in terrible condition with things broken.
How far along are you? What size is baby this week?
11 w 3 d, a lime
What symptoms are you having?
Exhaustion is still the worst. Nausea has it's ups and downs. Some days I feel like symptoms are lessening and others it's pretty rough.
Rants/Raves:
I'm just so tired. I'm so behind at work with grading student projects and I can't keep up. And my poor colleague has been out due to a family emergency, so I've been putting in more time beyond my contractual part time hours to help her out.
Any questions this week?
No real questions. I'm just stressing over weaning my DD (16 months). My OB suggested weaning her by 20 weeks which in theory sounds good. But I'm having a hard time taking more steps to fully wean her. She only nurses first thing in the AM and before bed and I truly enjoy our bonding time. I thought I'd hate breastfeeding before I had her, but once we ironed out some kinks, we really hit a stride. At the same time I'd like to have a break between the 2 kids. I just need to find a way to make myself ready, but it's so hard. If anyone else has dealt with weaning, tips are welcome.
GTKY: What was your first job and what lessons did you learn from it?
I worked at the Reebok store at the local outlet mall and hated it. My boss was a jerk and let employees steal. Customers were rude. And I hated sorting the shoe racks. I learned that I'd never work retail again if I didn't have to. And I learned how to put shoes away when I go shopping at a shoe store so that the poor underpaid sales associates have less crap to deal with.
What symptoms are you having? Still have sore boobs and fatigue. A bit of insomnia the past few nights.
Rants/Raves: I'm finally getting caught up at work! It's going to be busy again somewhat soon, but I'm feeling good right now.
Any questions this week? Anyone else team green??
GTKY: What was your first job and what lessons did you learn from it? Ugh, first job was a housekeeper at Super 8 motel during HS. It was a horrible job. It taught me not to be a complete pig when staying at a hotel!
@ladystinson yay for a promotion!!

HFA: 11 +1. Lime (side note, if we’re all the same due week, we’re generally the same size, right?)
symptoms: so much vomiting. Too much. I’m so tired from feeling this way for 5 weeks!
R/r: when I tell my childless BFF I’m sick, “well, this is what you wanted! You should be happy!” *eye roll* I’m also canceling a girls trip with her to the east coast (I’m in California) because I’m far to sick and tired to travel and that’s not going over so well.
Gtky: first job, I was a gymnastics instructor at age 14 to 3-5 year olds. I learned patience is something I must acquire before having any 3-5 year olds ha!
Symptoms: they are lessening but I've had some round ligament pain (I think) the other day, and still a bit nauseous and extra tired. Feeling cold... anyone else?
Questions: I'm okay for now!
Rants and raves: people asking if I'm pregnant. Like, if I wanted to tell you now, I would! These questions by the way, are coming from people who are already parents

11 weeks, 2 days. (Ovia says this is the size of a poker chip, which seems smaller than a lime... hmm...)
Symptoms: Exhaustion, nausea, some insomnia, and heart burn. Yay 1st trimester!
Rants/Raves: I'm so tired!!!! Bring on the second tri, please!
Questions: The nausea ends soon right? I can't recall when it finally ended with DD.
GTKY: I worked at the snack stand at the community pool. I learned to carefully assess if I could take someone at their word...long story referring to the shady owner.
@dee_ao that's so sweet of you to run with your sister. Congratulations to both of you on your 5k. I'm also waiting for my blood test results and very excited.
@allie0320 i thought it was gone but my nausea has come back!
How far along are you? What size is baby this week? 11w1d baby is the size of a California maki
What symptoms are you having? I am feeling better overall and I do have a lot of my energy back but then all of a sudden the nausea and fatigue just reappears and weighs down on me
Rants/Raves: it sucks that the first trimester is so hard and you just have to suffer in silence because you can't tell anyone you're PG. Also, I hate not being able to tell anyone I'm pregnant. I know I can tell if I want but I dont want to jinx it.
Any questions this week? Nope
GTKY: What was your first job and what lessons did you learn from it? My first job was an intern at the bank my mom worked at. I learned how to work in an office environment and how to manage my money.
BUT! I have to say that I started with a mild cough on saturday that turned into a not so great cough on sunday. Monday morning I woke up with no voice after coughing up a lung all night which has continued through today at least. I'm thinking maybe I did just have a respiratory infection but it took the addition of hormones and exhaustion to make it really show? A couple years ago I had just been... off... for a while, I finally went to the dr and found out that I had a horrible sinus infection. Going back through my symptoms he said I had probably had it for 4-6 months (kind of like the rare uti that doesn't burn) So I'm hoping its that kind of thing and I'll be good soon
I would love to stop coughing though, between that and all the drainage, I got sick 4 times in the shower this morning. And not m/s sick, like nasty sick sick
