What's your Growth Scan?

I'm at 37+4, baby girl weighs 6Ibs 13oz give or take. One week & 5 days left until my 2nd C/S! How much are your LO's weighing right now?

No idea. I am 35w6d but do not have any more scheduled ultrasounds, provided everything goes fine between now and birth. They just measure my belly at appointments with measuring tape..... and have not commented on anticipated weight since my last US at 32 weeks.

I have no idea. I haven’t had an u/s since 20w. I would love to know though. This is #3 and the other 2 both weighed 6lb8oz at birth at 38w4d/38w6d. I’m assuming another smaller baby but maybe 6lbs8oz. I’ve only washed and am only packing NB size clothes.

I had a growth scan a couple weeks ago and baby was 5lbs 6oz, two weeks ahead (i was 33 weeks then). I have another growth scan scheduled for next week and I’m hoping baby is back on track. A big baby is a huge concern for my doc since I had shoulder dystocia with last baby. I’ll be 37 weeks exactly at next growth scan.

My growth scan at 32w was 4lb 4oz and 33% but my OB thinks he's bigger than that as I have consistently measured over a week ahead. We are going to ask for a second growth scan for next week or so

I had a growth scan the end of Sept and baby was 5lbs give or take a bit. Dr is thinking Baby will be over 8.5 lbs.

At my growth scan at 32 weeks (3 weeks ago) baby was 4.9 lbs. My next growth scan is Monday.

How do you get these growth scans?! Are they just standard at your practices?

@YesOuiCan my doc does a scan as close to delivery as possible, I’m assuming just to make sure everything is good for delivery. She did say that they’re usually a pound or two off when they scan, which in my experience is correct, so I don’t put much stock into what they measure. I have mine tomorrow at 37w3d.

@YesOuiCan I never had them with my other pregnancies but they’re monitoring growth this time around because of my hx of shoulder dystocia with last delivery.

I've had growth scans through this pregnancy due to IUGR in my last pregnancy. Without that I don't think they are typical practice.

My last growth scan was Oct 14th at 36w4d and at that time she weighed 7lbs 6oz and she was in the 85th percentile. I am now 37w6d and per my doctor I wont have any more scans unless I dont deliver by my due date on Nov 10th. Only 2w1day to go.

@YesOuiCan, I haven't had any scans since the anatomy scan (20 weeks either). I won't go for anymore unless the midwives are unsure about something. Baby has been head down for the past couple of months though so I am not too worried. I was 7lbs 12oz and DH was 8lbs 8oz so I am thinking our little girl will be around the 8lb mark. I am bringing a couple nb and a couple 0-3mo outfits to the hospital and we will see what firs lol.

My last growth scan at 34 weeks they estimated him at 5 lb 2 oz which is already bigger than my first son was at birth (36w4d). I'm pretty sure that was my last ultrasound because my high risk doctor told me everything was looking great so she was releasing me to the regular doctors from here on out.

I'm in the same "no idea" boat as others. The only growth scan my birth center does as routine practice is at 41 weeks to check placenta condition and baby size at that point. I am on the lower end of weight gain this pregnancy, which I no is really no indication of baby size, but I'm at least hoping it does not suggest a 10 pounder. I'm hoping for more of a 7-8lb, average size baby.

I am getting them because of AMA and also because they are monitoring me for GD since I failed my 1 hour and refused my 3 hour. I’ve never had growth scans prior to this pregnancy.

We were able to have a unique experience where we had a growth scan one day and baby came the next! The u/s was only off by 1 oz amazingly enough!

October 2nd his ultrasound said 5lb, he arrived 7lb 8oz 25 days later. Midwife made a mention of his weight at the scan saying he couldn't have gained too much since than. This late in pregnancy it's +/- a pound or so.

I get another scan on Tuesday and I'm really anxious to see how much he has grown. I was concerned at my last one he was only 33% so I have been drinking tons of protein shakes to Help weight gain....and yet yesterday my stomach measured small for the first time ever

I had 2 growth scans due to my marginal insertion. At 28 weeks he was 2lbs 15oz and in the 41st percentile. At 35 weeks he was 5lbs 1oz. They didnt give me a percentile for that one but said he was small on the average and I didn't need any more scans because he was healthy. My fundal growth has been measuring right on track so they dont seem to be worried. I'm thinking baby will be about 6lbs, maybe a little more when he's due.

Had a second growth scan at 35w5 today. He's now 6lb 8oz and up to 60% from 33. His head is 60%, belly was 84!!! Chunky monkey!! I'm feeling much better that he has put some weight on. All my boost shakes are working (he gained 2lb 4oz in under 4 weeks)

Reviving this thread for a related question. Has anyone else had a sudden jump in size toward the end of your pregnancy? My fundal measurements have been exactly on track the whole time including last week, but today (exactly 38 weeks) I suddenly measured at 41. Going in for my first growth scan next Thursday to see how he/she is looking. If baby is really measuring that big I'm hoping he/she will arrive ASAP, but I know it could be that baby is stretched out or there could be excess fluid. Any thoughts/experiences on this?
