  • On a scale of 1-10 how "into" Halloween are you?
3 or 4...I may get more into it as DS gets older.
What was your favorite/best costume you wore as a kid?  As an adult?
Witch costume when I was kid...I had fake long creepy nails too.
Are you dressing up this year?
I've been debating dressing up, might put together something last minute.
Most important question: What is your favorite Halloween candy?
Skittles or Kit Kat are good with me.
What is your favorite Horror (or Halloween) movie?
I don't have one. I also scare easily so horror movies are out the window for me. I've tried MULTIPLE times throughout my life and it never ends well and a lot of lack of sleep.
    Any Halloween traditions?
Carving pumpkins is it so far.

Probably like a 4.  I like getting DD dressed up but I don't do a ton of decorating or anything like some of our neighbors.
What was your favorite/best costume you wore as a kid?  As an adult?
We always had super cute costumes growing up.  My mom made most of them.  I think my favorite was the cheerleader or cowgirl.  I don't really dress up as an adult.
Are you dressing up this year?
    no
Most important question: What is your favorite Halloween candy?
Hmmm...A couple years ago they had white chocolate kit kats.  I really liked those!  Otherwise plain kit kats are good too.
What is your favorite Horror (or Halloween) movie?
I hate horror movies.  Nope, can't do it.  haha  I enjoyed Casper growing up.  lol
    Any Halloween traditions?
    Nope!

  • On a scale of 1-10 how "into" Halloween are you? about a 7? I like to decorate the house but I don't go all out

What was your favorite/best costume you wore as a kid?  As an adult? I can't really recall a favorite costume as a kid, we didn't make a big deal about them. Just pulled stuff out of the dress up box. As and adult MH (boyfriend at the time) and I went as Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox. We won a costume contest at a bar and got to have a keg party with all our friend later.

Are you dressing up this year? Probably not.

Most important question: What is your favorite Halloween candy? This might be too tough to choose. I like kit kat and snickers the best probably. I hate 3 musketeers though.

What is your favorite Horror (or Halloween) movie? I don't have a favorite horror movie. I've never been that into them. My favorite Halloween movie is Halloweentown

    Any Halloween traditions?
Not really. I used to help my mom pick out and put up all the decorations when I was a teen and I loved that. Now we just order pizza and play board games while handing out candy. This will be out first year in our new house in a new city so we will see how many trick or treaters we get.

  • On a scale of 1-10 how "into" Halloween are you? Eh, I'm like a 2 or 3. It's just not my favorite of the holidays.

What was your favorite/best costume you wore as a kid?  As an adult? I had a pink power ranger costume that lives in infamy in my family. They still laugh at me in that thing, and I'll give it to them, it was pretty funny. There's a home video of me running up to a house in that pink bodysuit with my candy basket picking a wedgie.

Are you dressing up this year? No.

Most important question: What is your favorite Halloween candy? I'm team yes to candy corn and anything chocolate.

What is your favorite Horror (or Halloween) movie? I don't like scary movies so I'll say this is the perfect time to rewatch/reread Harry Potter.

    Any Halloween traditions?
Not really. I really like to just stay home and hand out candy, but having a kid this year is making me want to try harder to get into it for him.

  • @krashke Halloweentown! I used to love that movie I'm going to have to watch it this week.
  • On a scale of 1-10 how "into" Halloween are you? eh, about a 5-6

What was your favorite/best costume you wore as a kid? Oh dear, that was so long ago that I don't even remember!  As an adult? can't say I've dressed up much as an adult

Are you dressing up this year? nope

Most important question: What is your favorite Halloween candy? Reeces, milky way, snickers...anything chocolate and caramel!

What is your favorite Horror (or Halloween) movie? none...I HATE scary movies

    Any Halloween traditions?
just the normal stuff, pumpkin carving, trick or treating and trading candy!
  • On a scale of 1-10 how "into" Halloween are you? Maybe a 6? Used to be like a 2, but now that I have a kid it’s more fun.

What was your favorite/best costume you wore as a kid?  As an adult? I was a clown one year when I was really little. Probably the most effort i out into a costume. Haven’t dressed up since I was like 13.

Are you dressing up this year? Yes. I’ll be a Dalmatian to my sons fireman.

Most important question: What is your favorite Halloween candy? Reese’s peanut butter cup or kit cat

What is your favorite Horror (or Halloween) movie? I don’t do horror movies, but I’ll watch hocus pocus any day of the week.

Any Halloween traditions? Pumpkin carving, roasting pumpkin seeds and watching hocus pocus.
  • On a scale of 1-10 how "into" Halloween are you?
    5. I really like Halloween but we've never had the money for decorations or costumes or candy.

What was your favorite/best costume you wore as a kid?  As an adult?
I was a southern belle when I was a kid and it had a hoop skirt. XD

Are you dressing up this year?
    Nope. Wish I was.

Most important question: What is your favorite Halloween candy?
    REESES

What is your favorite Horror (or Halloween) movie?
I can't stomach gore or violence or torture or any kind of owies, so I like the old Hitchcock movies (some of them) and ghost stories like The Others. I even like Blair Witch Project as long as DH tells me when to close my eyes.

    Any Halloween traditions?
Yes! We're making plenty. Pumpkin carving, pumpkin patches, trick-or-treating at the zoo and my church.

  • @catlady1215 I loved the California raisins! I was obsessed with this claymation Christmas special they were in.

@jsl82 I also dressed up as rainbow Brite one year in high school. Unfortunately none of my friends knew that show, so they didn't get my excitement.

On a scale of 1-10 how "into" Halloween are you?
probably like a 1. It's my least favorite holiday. I don't like dressing up or parties or anything remotely scary or like 99% of candy...

What was your favorite/best costume you wore as a kid?  As an adult?
When I was little I dressed up as Pocahontas like 3 years in a row so I guess you could say that was my favorite.

Are you dressing up this year?
    Nope.

Most important question: What is your favorite Halloween candy?
Like I said, I'm not really a candy person, but I do enjoy a good Reese's cups.

What is your favorite Horror (or Halloween) movie?
I literally cannot watch anything remotely horror. Hocus pocus and halloweentown are still a little too creepy for me. I do weirdly like nightmare before Christmas though.

    Any Halloween traditions?
nope. Every few years DH and I carve pumpkins, but I don't think we will this year.

Are you dressing up this year? We have costumes (2 in fact) not sure if we will dress up we don't have anywhere to go.
Most important question: What is your favorite Halloween candy? I just love candy IDC what it is

  • On a scale of 1-10 how "into" Halloween are you? I'd say an 8. I love pretty much any holiday...especially one that involves dressing up and candy. But I can't give it a 10. That's reserved for the holy trail  (Christmas!!)

What was your favorite/best costume you wore as a kid?  As an adult? As a kid, probably a princess, since I wore the same homemade costume 3 years in a row. As an adult: I used to work in the cosmetic industry and we would do themed makeup looks (w/o costumes) that were really fun. My favorite was the Black Swan...very creepy!

Are you dressing up this year? No, I have a cute elephant costume for my 12 month old and I want to take him out. But since he's not walking or talking much yet, it would probably be weird to go trick or treating. Right? Haha

Most important question: What is your favorite Halloween candy? Oooh, so tough. I'm going to go with kit kats or Reeses.

What is your favorite Horror (or Halloween) movie? I do love a good scary movie, but if it's Halloween how can I not say Hocus Pocus!?!?

    Any Halloween traditions?
Just the usual fall fun: pumpkin patch (one that has those mini pumpkin doughnuts!), carving, decorating the house and handing out candy
  • On a scale of 1-10 how "into" Halloween are you?

What was your favorite/best costume you wore as a kid?  As an adult?

Are you dressing up this year?
    Yes! Don’t know what yet!
Most important question: What is your favorite Halloween candy?
    Reece’s
What is your favorite Horror (or Halloween) movie?
I’m not a horror movie fan at all!
    Any Halloween traditions?
We always go to the pumpkin patch!
  • @katelynrae86 my DD is only 10 months old (will be on Friday) and also isn't much of a walker or talker, but DH is still going out with the other dads ToTing.  He's bringing her in the stroller and will probably just have a few beers walking around the neighborhood without actually taking her out of the stroller.  If you have neighbors you are close with or family that nears nearby I say take the kid out... baby's first Halloween is adorable and people that know you will want to see him.

Probably like a 6...I love a good scare now and then and those bags of miniature candies that I could eat in like one sitting

As a kid it was probably Dorothy from wizard of oz...as an adult I was a ceiling fan for work last year

Are you dressing up this year?
Maybe as an Eskimo...it's supposed to be in the upper 30s-low 40s Halloween night here after it was 80 all weekend so my body will not be adjusted by then.

Most important question: What is your favorite Halloween candy?
Reese's peanut butter cups no question

What is your favorite Horror (or Halloween) movie?
I don't know that I have a favorite, I'm always game for a good scary movie, but I'm also always game for Hocus Pocus

  • On a scale of 1-10 how "into" Halloween are you?
    I'd estimate about a 5.
What was your favorite/best costume you wore as a kid?  As an adult?
As a kid my mom made a Peanut M&M bag costume, DS is going to wear it this year.
As an adult, my last year of college I was a "Bae Watch" lifeguard. Basically I wore my old lifeguard uniform and had painted a life ring to say "BAE WATCH."

Are you dressing up this year?
Probably not this year, I have nothing prepared. Unless I wear my husband's Browns jersey, he did last year and told everyone he was "disappointed" for Halloween.

Most important question: What is your favorite Halloween candy?
    Starburst or Reese

What is your favorite Horror (or Halloween) movie?
    Teen Witch

  • @napqueen that is adorable that DS is going to be wearing your old costume!  AND I completely forgot about Teen Witch!  My old roommate and I would watch that every year.  The rap part is the best.

  • On a scale of 1-10 how "into" Halloween are you? usually about 8-9. This year more like 6. So exhausted!

What was your favorite/best costume you wore as a kid?  I was a devil a few times. So that was my favourite for sure. I was also a ninja turtle one year. As an adult? when I was pregnant with DS, I was about 5/6 months at Halloween. DH was Lahey and I was Randy from trailer park boys.

Are you dressing up this year?yes. DS is being gekko from pj masks and requested I be owlette and daddy be cat boy. So thats what we are all being.

Most important question: What is your favorite Halloween candy? I really like Reese peanut butter cups but DS has a bad peanut allergy :( I also do really like coffee crisp though :D and sour patch kids

What is your favorite Horror (or Halloween) movie?I don't do horror movies. I do really like its the great pumpkin Charlie Brown.

    Any Halloween traditions?
we used to do a Halloween party every year but havent for 2 years. Hoping to start a kid friendly version next year.
I love going to the pumpkin patch. Which includes a bunch of other activities here too. And then carving pumpkins. We take my son ToT at the local mall and then just our neighbours. And then hand out candy after since we both like seeing all the kids dressed up :)
  • @napqueen I forgot about teen witch! I’ll need to add that to the list this year.
  • On a scale of 1-10 how "into" Halloween are you?
4 or 5, but I'd like to be higher next year and get into decorating and all that... In my own mind, I'm like an 8.
What was your favorite/best costume you wore as a kid?  As an adult?
A mummy costume with lots of fake blood... I dream of the day (next year? maybe?) my family and I can go as the Labyrinth cast. My husband would make an excellent Jareth!
Are you dressing up this year?
Nope, but I sewed my daughter's Clifford costume so I feel like I'm dressing up vicariously.
Most important question: What is your favorite Halloween candy?
    Twix and M&Ms!
What is your favorite Horror (or Halloween) movie?
It's so hard to pick a favorite. For horror I'd say Misery or Silence of the Lambs. For Halloween-themed I'd say The Nightmare Before Christmas or The Halloween Tree.
    Any Halloween traditions?
Just trick or treating so far! When I was a kid we always used to carve a pumpkin and light the candle and leave it in my aunt's driveway, and then ring her doorbell and run away.

  • On a scale of 1-10 how "into" Halloween are you?
Probably realistically a 2 or 3, though I really wish it was more like a 7 or 8. I live in a country where Halloween isn't really a thing. They have some Halloween parties around this time of year, but it's more of an adult/clubbing thing and not part of their traditions. My partner didn't grow up celebrating, so it's all on me to decorate and celebrate, which makes it a lot harder to get into.

What was your favorite/best costume you wore as a kid?  As an adult?
As a kid: I was obsessed with fairies and princesses, so I'm pretty sure 90% of my Halloweens were one of those two costumes. Never a specific fairy or princess, though. My mom did some great make-up with the costumes and my grandma donated a chunk of her sparkly 70s wardrobe to my dress-up box, so the result was usually actually pretty cute, looking back. I never had a store-bought costume.

As an adult: sugar skull! Everyone's done it, but whatever. A friend of mine practiced the make-up for weeks before Halloween and did a fantastic job.

Are you dressing up this year?
No. But I'm really happy to see that my son's daycare asked if the kids would please come in costume tomorrow! They've decorated everything with spiderwebs and spooky things, so at least LO gets a bit of Halloween. I got him GAP PJs with glow-in-the-dark bones, so that will be his costume.

Most important question: What is your favorite Halloween candy?
Reeses, Baby Ruth, Snickers, Twix...and, surprisingly, DOTS.

What is your favorite Horror (or Halloween) movie?
Things like Ernest Scared Stupid, Hocus Pocus, Sleepy Hollow, Casper, and...I kind of think the HP movies hit the Halloween spot too.

    Any Halloween traditions?

As a kid, trick-or-treating! As an adult, I loved watching a couple of scary movies and handing out candy. No traditions aside from that, so I guess I'll need to think about what I can do for LO to make a tradition. Decorate the house and have a Halloween party, maybe? Have everyone come in costumes and go for a little parade in the neighborhood? Don't know yet.
  • On a scale of 1-10 how "into" Halloween are you?
Probably about a 2 or a 3--DH and I aren't really into scary things, so we keep it very mild. :)

What was your favorite/best costume you wore as a kid?  As an adult?
My favorite costume as a child was the cowardly lion. My mom painted my face and I had a costume with fur on it and thought it was really neat. As an adult, my favorite costume was when DH and I dressed up as "White Trash," it was really fun and everyone loved my fake pregnant belly and black eye. DH looked like Joe Dirt.

Are you dressing up this year?
No, but LO is going as Spiderman and is super excited about it!

Most important question: What is your favorite Halloween candy?
    I'd say reese's or skittles

What is your favorite Horror (or Halloween) movie?
I really like Hocus Pocus and Casper.

    Any Halloween traditions?
Since DS came along we've been going to the pumpkin patch every year and we love passing out candy and seeing the different costumes, people get so creative! This year DS is really into it, so we will be taking him trick-or-treating.

  • @=caenis= I love your ideas for you LO. We did adult parties every year until 2 years ago. My plan ia to start up parties again next year but make them afternoon and kid friendly.
