Hello,
The subject crib is one of our options, but it is only available online and I like to see it with my own eyes in the store. It is rated high on consumer reports and has great reviews on BRU.com, but for some reason I just don't feel comfortable with ordering it online and not seeing it first.
The other we are looking at is by Babi Italia called Pinehurst Lifestyle and is available at the BRU store. It also has great reviews on BRU.com. It is ranked the same as the Da Vinci Emily, but is almost double the price, because, I think, it converts to all three styles of bed (toddler, day bed & full size) where the Da Vinci Emily only converts from crib to day bed to full size, which is fine with us.
I'm not sure what to do. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Re: Convertible Crib - Da Vinci Emily
We have the Emily and LOVE IT! We ordered it online and were hesitant, but it is absolutely beautiful! We ordered the coffee because we wanted something along the lines of a cherry, but without the redness. It is great!
I don't have any photos here at work, but when I get home, I will post them so you can see them.
GL!
Wow - that is a beautiful crib! I, too, am on the hunt for a DaVinci crib, none of which are sold here in Canada (not that I am told, that is).
I was told that Da Vinci is an online make only, parent company being Million Dollar Baby. Were you able to see it somewhere before buying it? If not, it obviously seems like you are happy with your purchase!!! I may buy the same one in black...
I wasn't able to see it in person. But I read lots of reviews online, and just trusted my gut. It is affordable and had great reviews. I got it within a week from Overstock. Very easy to put together. And like I said, seems very sturdy. And it is light, so I can move it around on the carpet.
I ordered the matching changing table from BRU. There was a broken piece, so I emailed Million Dollar Baby, and I had the new piece for free within a week. Million Dollar Baby seemed very easy to work with. And they really care about their products.
I don't have the Da Vinci Emily, but I ordered the Da Vinci Kalani crib in cherry (sight unseen) from simplybabyfurniture.com and love it.

I guess I'm in the minority here...
I liked the look of the Davinci crib when I saw it online. I liked the safety rankings and such and thought we were sold. Then I was able to see it in person, and I have to say I was disappointed. Without sounding snobbish, compared to other cribs, it looked kind of cheap in person. We ended up going with another crib, but go with your own gut and you'll be fine. Good Luck
