Infertility

HCG storage

Hello all!

I'm back after taking a few months off.  I needed a physical and mental break from all the infertility stuff, as I'm sure you can all understand.  I've done 3 months of clomid and 3 months of Menopur with no luck.  I'm starting another round of clomid tonight and will trigger+ IUI sometime next week.  I have a question about the trigger.  I've always refrigerated it, but I read today that it says to keep it at room temperature (unless it's mixed).  Have I been doing it wrong all this time?!  Yikes.  How do you store yours?

  • Hello all!

Yikes.  How do you store yours?

hey.... when its unmixed you are probably ok to leave it room temperature, but my clinics have always told me to store it in the fridge since that will likely be a *stable* temperature and wherever you have it in your home might not be.... I don't think it will have impacted you either way. I prefer fridge storage because my docs have said its best, but my first go round I stored all my unmixed stuff (HCG and menopur) in my kitchen. Some pple say the reason the diluent can appear cloudy is because of changes in temperature... who knows....(obv don't use cloudy looking water to mix since it can be non sterile)  I just do as my docs say, but you cant hurt it at all keeping it in the fridge
    hope that helps
