Re: Due Date Check-in (wk of 10/23): Fourth Week of May 5/20-5/26

  • How far along are you? What size is baby this week?
10w1d I think?  I go to the ob tomorrow and hope to get an official due date.

    What symptoms are you having?
Just pretty tired still. And very turned away from most meats which stinks. That lasted all last pregnancy and it made it difficult to eat with DH as all he eats is meat.

    Rants/Raves:
I should be stopping my progesterone suppositories soon (hooray!) as my RE said I could stop at 10 weeks, but we want to see if the ob van check my levels to assure me stopping is fine.
We also did family photos this weekend and the photographer already sent one good one through so it wasn't a complete disaster.

    Any questions this week?
    Nope

GTKY:  What was your first job and what lessons did you learn from it?
I think my first official job was a busser at a restaurant by our home. It was not a fun job and I realized how rude some of the waitresses could be to a young teenager and how some people treated those lower than them. When I started waitressing at another restaurant, I was always super nice to the bus staff, thanked them, tipped them well. They seemed to appreciate it and in turn, would clear my tables quickly.
It was a great lesson on treating those who are "lower on the totem pole".
And I also learned how hard it is to be a waitress during busy times and I can watch and see if a server is being lazy or is overwhelmed with tables. I have spoken to a lot of managers after meals to compliment our server or another server I witnessed running around like crazy or keeping their cool with a dick head table. Waitressing and retail seem to be 2 big spots where customers feel it's ok to be total jerks and complain about whatever they can and it's a shame.
Sorry, my mind is foggy today so my thoughts aren't coming out smoothly so it's pretty choppy.

  • How far along/size: 9 weeks 4 days, Cherry!

Symptoms: Nausea and the oh so lovely constipation.

Rants/Raves: My DH has been so awesome lately with letting me eat whatever sounds good, without complaining that we keep eating out, or just frozen food. It's not even because it sounds good, but I just really really don't want to cook lately.
I don't really have any rants right now. Just hoping everything with insurance moves smoothly from now on!

Questions: Anyone know how I can steal just a bit of energy from my two year old? He seems to have a lot and I have very little
  • How far along are you? What size is baby this week?
    9 weeks 6 days, a cherry approaching a strawberry

What symptoms are you having? abdominal fullness, constipation, fatigue.  i think the nausea has gone away.

Rants/Raves: First appt is Wednesday! can't wait for the U/S and to get a good idea of how far along we are.  My estimates are based on LMP, but I think I ovulated a little late, so my due date may be pushed back a little.

    Any questions this week?  Nope

GTKY:  What was your first job and what lessons did you learn from it?
Day camp counselor when i was 17,  pre-teens are hard to work with ;)  I was a counselor at a summer daycamp and i got assigned the pre-teens as my core group.  It was such a diverse group of kids, I had to change things up everyday to make sure everyone was getting involved.
  • How far along are you? What size is baby this week?
    9w6d

    What symptoms are you having?
so nauseous still :( I'm really feeling over the 24 hours of feeling sick and not being interested in eating anything.

Rants/Raves: I did the grocery shopping for the fist time in a month yesterday and I almost puked in the meat department. DH will be doing the shopping for the foreseeable future.

Any questions this week? Nope. Have my first OB appointment tomorrow though!

GTKY:  What was your first job and what lessons did you learn from it?
I worked at the library, it was mostly a boring job but I got to read and do my homework so that was a plus!
  • @theletlers, um if you figure out how to steal energy, let me know. We went to visit DH's grandparents yesterday and DD legit ran laps around their kitchen table. For like, long periods of time. Grandpa was amazing that she wasn't letting up the entire visit. We told him she's always a ball of energy from wakeup to bedtime.

  • How far along are you? What size is baby this week?
    9w 5d

    What symptoms are you having?
Just when I thought my boobs couldn't hurt more....

    Rants/Raves:
so tired of being tired!! Can I please have my energy back?!

    Any questions this week?
how many of you have already announced the news widely?

GTKY:  What was your first job and what lessons did you learn from it?

First real job job was a Bath and Body Works. I learned that if customers want to return something, they will figure out a way to, even if it's a candle that's burnt all the way down.... people are crazy.
  • @sharkmama39 so far we have only told immediate family and my bff. I also told one work friend because I had some bleeding early on and was freaking out. We will wait until after 12 weeks to tell extended family and friends, we might just wait to spill the beans at thanksgiving.
  • Not sure why it cut off my GTKY,
technically my first job was a paper route when I was like ten. I learned you can get newspaper ink off your hands easily with toothpaste.
  • @theletlers now that you mentioned a paper route, we had one too when i was little, about the same age.  Me and my 2 sisters had the route, it was a lot of fun!
  • How far along are you? What size is baby this week?
9 w 2d but I also think I ovulated late. I go tomorrow for a dating ultra sound. The size of a Southern Pecan

What symptoms are you having? So so tired and so nauseous with dry heaving that comes on so strong and so suddenly. Weird dreams that wake me up in the middle of the night, heart burn

    Rants/Raves:
I am really Nervous I am going to be sick for five straight months like I was with my last pregnancy

Any questions this week? No, just excited for my ultra sound tomorrow. I have been very anxious about everything but I guess every time I start dry heaving I should assume things are going well in there.

GTKY:  What was your first job and what lessons did you learn from it? A pretzel shop at the mall. I worked with a few good friends and loved it.
  • How far along are you? What size is baby this week?

    • 9 weeks 6 days, a cherry

    What symptoms are you having?

    • Nauseous most of the day/night, food aversions and can only tolerate water in small doses, and anything scented pumpkin will make me puke which is sad bc I love pumpkin! :(

    Rants/Raves:

    • Ready for 2nd trimester and hopefully no more nausea.

    Any questions this week?

    • Nope

GTKY:  What was your first job and what lessons did you learn from it?

    • Large factory style bakery, overnight 12hr shift making donuts, in the summer with no a/c. I couldn’t wait to get back to school! Hahaha I still can’t eat a donut to this day.
  • How far along are you? What size is baby this week? 9w6d, a cherry :) still so tiny? I want time to get a move on!!!

What symptoms are you having? Still nausea, fatigue, hunger, gas and cobstipation, but things seem better this week. Also having sex dreams and some stretching pains.

Rants/Raves: happy I'm less fatigued!! Also excited because dh and I have been talking about names, possibly moving to a bigger place, the nursery and maternity leave. I'm over the moon because he has said I can stay at home with the baby and there's no rush to go back to work!

Any questions this week? Anyone bought a Doppler and found the heartbeat?

GTKY:  What was your first job and what lessons did you learn from it? My first job was in the school holidays at 16 doing data capturing. I did twice as much work as the permanent staff there and was awarded a cool bonus!! I was raised with good work ethic, pride in my work and a sense of commitment and my experience only affirmed how rewarding it is to do the best you can do.

@clee5711 how did your scan go? My next one is tomorrow and I'm also nervous.

@sharkmama39 we are only officially announcing after our NT scan. Our closest friends no but not our families and wider friends and colleagues. When are you announcing?

@oywiththepoodlesalready how was your OB appointment?

@theletlers I wish I could steal energy right now too!!

@suchaglencoco congrats on getting rob the point where you can start to wean off meds!! I'm so sick of PIO injections I can't freaking wait!!  :|

  • @babydreams88 OB appointment was totally pointless. Since it is my second they already have all my history and basically just gave me the safe medication list and did an exam. Since the first appointment is always with the nurse she wouldn't even answer any of my questions, just said I would have to ask the doctor at my next appointment. Glad I took 2 hours off of work for that .....
  • I had my first OB appt yesterday and it went well until he told me they wouldn't do an u/s until 20 weeks since I had one at 8 weeks with my RE. I must have looked panicked because he offered to grab the portable machine to take a quick peak. Baby bean looked great and I felt a ton better!
I have a check up booked 4 weeks out.

@babydreams88, those injections were awful. Last go around, my backside remained sore for weeks after!
  • @oywiththepoodlesalready what a bummer  :/ total waste of time and not even seeing the doctor! I would not be happy with that either!

@suchaglencoco tell me about it! My butt is SO swollen, I struggle everyday to find a spot to inject :( I would also freak out if they didn't do a scan! Was that your NT scan? I'm not looking forward to not having as many scans once I get referred out.

  • How far along are you? What size is baby this week? 10 weeks, strawberry or Lego minifigure

What symptoms are you having? Not sick all day anymore like I was, but vomiting more. Constipation, fatigue, RLP,  excessive drooling at night, gas

Rants/Raves: pretty content right now, I have 9 days off from work

    Any questions this week? Nope

GTKY:  What was your first job and what lessons did you learn from it? I worked at my aunt's kennel and she pretty much put me in charge of everything because she had a lot of back issues and couldn't do much. I learned a lot about customer service and caring for animals.

  • @babydreams88 it went well we saw a good heart beat of 165. I am a week behind what I was originally told but I was expecting that because of how my periods have been. Dr. says I am 8 weeks and baby is measuring 8w3d.  It was so wonderful and reassuring seeing a heartbeat
  • How far along are you? What size is baby this week?
Found out from my dating scan this morning that I'm 9+4 today.  Baby is the size of a pecan

    What symptoms are you having?
Still nauseous most of the day with vomiting at random times.  And I'm having RLP if I move too quickly

    Rants/Raves:
Just so happy to see the baby and hear a healthy heartbeat!

    Any questions this week?
    **TW Loss
So my husband is in a group chat with all his friends and one of the guy's wife was due around the same time as me but he told everyone last night that it was confirmed that there was no heartbeat.  My husband hasn't told any of them that I'm pregnant yet but was planning on sharing the news after our U/S today.  He still wants to tell everyone about it, maybe later in the day when the conversation has moved on.  But do you think it's too soon for him to say something?  I know if I was in that situation, I would wait a few days and talk to my friend one-on-one, but he doesn't wanna do that.
    **End TW

GTKY:  What was your first job and what lessons did you learn from it?
I started lifeguarding at 15 and it was the best job ever!  The hardest part of the job was learning to deal with members complaining about any little thing - the pool being too cold, the bathrooms being too dirty.  Some people were just never happy
  • @clee5711 I love the lego man size comparison! I was actually going to post about it when I saw that on my other app today.

@fraufarbissina that is a hard situation, i agree that he needs to talk to his friend privately. The other friends will probably be unsure of how to respond also so he at least needs to acknowledge the situation as part of his announcement.
  • @fraufarbissina men are also different about stuff concerning losses than most of us on this board I think.  So I think if your husband is close with these guys he probably knows what the guys would expect of him. So idk, just trying to see it from his perspective too.
  • How far along are you? What size is baby this week?
    10w - strawberry

    What symptoms are you having?
Gassy and oscillating between constipated and, um, not.  Still have waves of nausea but that is notably better. Still struggle to not feel faint in a hot shower and thirsty all the time.

    Rants/Raves:
Nothing worth mentioning. Life is calm at the moment - I'll take it.

    Any questions this week?
    Newp.

GTKY:  What was your first job and what lessons did you learn from it?
Pizza Hut cook and I learned I would never work in food service ever again. (and I haven't)
  • edited October 2017
How far along are you? 10 weeks exactly!
What size is baby this week? Cardinal tetra fish

    What symptoms are you having?
Fatigue mostly, tender breasts occasionally, so much discharge, passing so much gas, regurgitation

    Rants/Raves:
+ Got an extra peek at our baby today!
    - So much discharge!

Any questions this week? None right now

GTKY:  What was your first job and what lessons did you learn from it?
I worked at a fruit market and sorted ripe fruit from rotten fruit. I learned I can’t stand the smell of rotting tomatoes.

    Congrats that's just wonderful!!!

Afm, also experiencing a lot more discharge, rlp and lots of gas and heartburn/ reflux.

The good news is baby is still measuring on track!! We saw a strong heartbeat and lots of wiggling today!! So in love with our little one. I've been released from the Fertility Clinic and now have to setup my 12 week scan with a new Dr. I'll have to wait till then to decide if we can do the NIPT.

  • @oywiththepoodlesalready @bwow615 he's ending up just telling each of his friends one on one.  I think these things are probably totally different between men but I also don't want to be insensitive.  Either way, problem solved.

This is a weekly check in for people who due the Fourth Week of May 5/20-5/26

How far along are you? What size is baby this week?

    What symptoms are you having?

    Rants/Raves:

    Any questions this week?

GTKY:  What was your first job and what lessons did you learn from it?

    - 10 weeks - size of a kumquat!

    - Nausea, sore beasts, exhaustion. I’m starting to look pregnant. My boobs are bigger - popping out of my bras. And my jeans stopped buttoning over my bump this week so I’m officially needing maternity clothes.  :|

    - No rants or raves other than I feel like a bloated toad.

    - Any one else’s bump start to pop out this week?

GTKY- Frozen custard stand! I learned that frozen custard is far superior to ice cream  :D

  • @oywiththepoodlesalready @bwow615 he's ending up just telling each of his friends one on one.  I think these things are probably totally different between men but I also don't want to be insensitive.  Either way, problem solved.
I think he handled it well with the individual messages. Men are definitely different.  DH knows of no male friends that have suffered through a m/c with their partner. I, on the other hand, know a ton of friends and acquaintances who have.

    agreed!
  • @pandakov I got out my maternity pants this morning, I've been doing the belly band for a couple weeks but was over it today. Last pregnancy was during the summer so I will need to be going shopping!
  • @oywiththepoodlesalready I’m glad I’m not alone! I didn’t need maternity clothes until I was like 16 weeks with my other two - but this is my fourth pregnancy and I was 1) 30 pounds skinnier at the start of those pregnancies and 2) 10-12 years younger  :p
  • @pandakov @oywiththepoodlesalready I'm with you ladies! Except it's probably not the bump, just the weight I've been putting on. I've been eating so much to quell my hunger and nausea! I had to get new underwear, bras and some bigger pants for work. Funnily enough this week though some of my bloat has subsided so I don't look AS big  :D
