  • We're painting the nursery this weekend.  I have a sinus infection so I will probably not help at all.

  • I've eaten deli meat. And I probably will again. (I make sure to toast it or heat it up at least.)
  • I already had coffee this morning and now I'm drinking diet dr. pepper. I am not sorry.

I’ve eaten a lot of not warmed up deli meat...no biggie in my book!

Being in Europe....soooo much coffee. That’s probably why I’ve done nothing but sleep and eat today.

My FFFC. I’m in Prague today and I have done jack crap today. Mostly just laid around in bed on my phone or sleeping. I’m ready to come home and we don’t leave until Monday. I miss DD like crazy!!! So does DH.

Yeah ditto, minus the toasting/heating part lol. Just had a bacon turkey bravo for lunch actually, and it was great.

I've done the same thing. I had to buy a bunch of it for visitors and I didn't want it to go to waste...but if you heat it/toast it, they say it's fine. My doctor even went as far as to say that if I wanted to eat it cold just make sure it came from the grocery store and it hasn't experienced a break in refrigeration...so I guess if you store it in a cooler for the car ride home and immediately put it in the fridge, you're good not to toast.

I've probably eaten more tuna this pregnancy than I should be, but it's pretty much the only thing that appealed for a while. Tuna with extra onions.  :#
  • AFM: H's cousin is getting married next year and her shower is tomorrow. Several of his other cousins have gotten married since we've been together (both the male and female cousins) and I've never attended their showers and always claimed the distance between me and the location was the issue (they're at least 4 hours away). Tomorrow's shower is only 2 hours away so I said "oh I can make that drive up and back in one day!" but really, I'm going because this is the one cousin I like. Well, her and one woman married to H's male cousin. The others I just don't like enough to drive 4 hours for.
I don't think I like ANYBODY enough to drive 4 hours to their wedding shower! That's super nice of you. My MIL is getting married someday...who knows when cause her fiancé isn't actually divorced quite yet...and they're 5 and a half hours away in VT right on the border of Canada...ya... I already told my husband, we ain't making the trip for that wedding.  She also lives in a house with what we will call a 'traumatic' history and a reputation and I'm not at all comfortable staying there knowing the story behind the place. So if this takes place this spring/summer...the baby is going to be too little to travel...or my older son will be unable to sit for that long... some bs excuse so that I don't have to go!  :D>:)

My cousin got married a couple weeks ago and I didn't go to her shower or wedding and it was in my own city. I feel no need to go to family events out of obligation. Her and I never talk and I refuse to spend money on gifts for someone I don't really know just because we share a family tree.
  • My FFFC is that I haven't made an actual meal in a long time! I just snack all day and all night! Grilled cheese or Kraft dinner have been the biggest "meal" for me! And it is not healthy at all

My cousin invited me and 2 other cousins out of about 15 to his wedding a couple years ago.  The rest of the family got riled up, but he did what was right for him.  And it was nice to feel he appreciated our relationship.  I was proud of him.

I did the same at my wedding. My mom was 1 of 7 children and my dad 1 of 4. Only 2 aunts and 1 uncle were invited (plus their families).  I had no real relationship with the others and I didn't want to share my day with them and make small talk. Thankfully my parents understood and I wasn't forced to invite anyone I didn't want.

  • @Idawngirl781 DH and I did that and the uninvited family came anyway. I was super annoyed.

    Wha?! How'd they manage that?

DH’s family spread the news and told them the info thinking we “forgot”. Uhhh no.  I don’t even think I have seen that family since our wedding eight years ago.

    SO awkward!
  • @TattoosandLace YES. We still hear from FIL about how we “forgot to invite them”.  But at this point it’s not even worth telling them that they were not invited because we chose not to.

We had had the same issues at DD’s birthday party this year.  We only invited immediate family because DD does not enjoy crowds. It turned out to be a HUGE deal.  So I guess from now on it’s all or none... which is sad bc really that means none.

I feel ya. I've been doing the same. I can cook for the family but preparing food for myself is daunting. I had cereal for dinner most nights for a 2 week span. I went for my anatomy scan shortly thereafter and the doctor congratulated me for not gaining any weight (I'm plus sized to begin with) and told me to keep up the diet plan...er?
  • @jlcrunchberry I hear yeah! I just don't have the effort to make me anything! Cereal is easy and that's my jam!

Omg my MIL wanted to hang up an invitation on her bulliten board to invite all of the teachers at her MDO. I told her no, they aren't invited, it was supposed to be small and we don't know them. She asked for one specific lady and her family to be invited so we obliged. Amazingly the day of the wedding the woman's husband and 3 kids all got sick yet there were 4 teachers totally ready to travel 3 hours for our wedding on a Friday. Aka my MIL lied to me and invited them anyway. They were the first people to sign our guest book and none of them even brought gifts. I'm still mad to this day.
  • @SarahFoley725 - OMG! I'd be livid. Did you have it out with her afterwards?

  • @SarahFoley725 definitely no! Who does that?! It costs money to have/feed guests. SO rude.

@Starynightsky24 That's the way she is so I honestly wasn't that surprised. She's incredible selfish and manipulative.

@ldawngirl781 honestly she caused so many issues before and during the wedding I just didn't want to talk to her for a long time. I mentioned it in passing last summer though. She wanted to leave DD with a friend of hers so we could go shopping and I said no because I didn't know the lady. She argued with me about it a while and the was like oh well you met her before she came to your wedding. I was like ohhh one of the people who showed up uninvited? She didn't have a response to that.

    Edit: spelling.
