1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby?
Happy Second Trimester to meeeee! 14 weeks today.

Baby girl is the size of a peach.
2. How are you feeling?
Better! I slipped up yesterday and took a nap which always results in me feeling like crap but I did good for most of the weekend and I have been eating dinner more and more lately.
3. Any appointments coming up?
Not until beginning of Nov.
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
I'm just super excited to finally be in second tri! I'm hoping the evening sickness continues to improve. I'm also looking forward to Halloween so I can make my public announcement.
5. GTKY: Tell us about your best friend (other then your SO!). How did you meet? How long have you known each other? Anything else you want to share!
I'm very lucky in that I have several women in my life that I consider my "best friend" but one of my friends in particular I have known since I was in 1-2nd grade. She lived two streets behind me and we went to school together elementary-high school. I was literally the Full House Kimmy Gibler of her household growing up. Even though we have lived apart in different cities/states for 11ish years now our friendship never skips a beat. I talk to her on the phone almost daily. I think the longest we have ever gone without talking is like 2 weeks while one of us was on vacation. We have been through it ALL together.

Pretty good. Energy is picking up. I cleaned my house, did some yardwork, went for a light jog/long walk this weekend, went shopping for little one. It was great.

We met when we were babies (literally)...grew up together, same school, church...everything our entire lives.

16 weeks! Baby is the size of an avocado or a can of spam

Pretty good besides still feeling tired (probably because I'm chasing a toddler around), and not a fan of eating still but it's slowly coming back.

Nothing really just been a long weekend just ready to have a day where I can lounge around and do nothing.

We actually knew each other in high school, didn't really like each other but that is because her friend at the time was trying to steal my boyfriend and she really hated my friend. We were cool with each other when our other friends were not around. Then about 2009ish she got a job where I worked and we became really close (because we aren't friends with either of the girls we were friends with in high school LOL).

@JJMNO1616 those types of friendships, ones that have survived decades and experiences and are STILL going strong, are the absolute best!

Good! No complaints, shockingly

I have my 16 week office visit on Wednesday.

I mentioned this in spam, but I'm on the hunt for a new OB because I made the decision to switch hospitals for this birth. My appt this week is with my current OB and I'm going to be totally upfront with them about why I'll be switching. If they can offer any assurance that things will be different (better) for this birth than last I'll definitely consider staying, but I'm for sure not counting on that.

5. GTKY: Tell us about your best friend (other then your SO!). How did you meet? How long have you known each other? Anything else you want to share!
I have a group of three best friends (4 including me) that I met the first day of our freshman year in high school about 20 years ago. We've been through it all -- crazy boyfriends, college in different states and countries, living on totally opposite sides of the country for jobs, one is even living in Australia right now. We don't talk every day, we'd actually be lucky if we talked once a month, but we email a lot and regardless of how long it's been since we've seen each other, our friendships pick up right where they left off. They're my people!

@kmalls fruit and veggies are such hard things to compare pregnancy too. I think there was one time I saw someone say their baby is the size of a peach and they were 2-3 weeks behind me and my app said baby was the size of a peach. So weird.

I have 3 BFFs - met all of them in elementary school and we have stayed close through sooo much.
One is the crazy life of the party, one is the dependable and always-there-for-absolutely-anything-you-need classic PTA mom type, and one is the logical, honest, blunt career woman who will always tell you how it is. All completely different but I love them all and don't know where I would be without them!

We got out NIPT results this morning, everything looks great, and we're having a girl! I'm excited that DS will have a little sister. Also, I was finally able to find the baby's heartbeat with my doppler over the weekend, it's so nice to be able to hear it whenever I want.
5. GTKY: Tell us about your best friend (other then your SO!). How did you meet? How long have you known each other? Anything else you want to share!
I have lots of close friends, but I'll write about one in particular. She and I met in high school in Minnesota, but we weren't really friends in high school. We didn't dislike each other, but we were different years in school and didn't hang out much. We also ended up going to the same University and were in the marching band together there, but same thing, didn't hang out much. Fast forward 4 years after college, I was getting ready to move from Minnesota to Utah, and it turns out my friend, C, was also moving to Utah (and I have facebook to thank for even knowing that she was moving to Utah too). Neither of us knew anyone here, so we started hanging out, and we became bffs. We both bought homes out here within the last few years, and we live within 5 miles of each other. I'm so glad that we got to know each other better after moving out here!

@kmalls Isn't the baby size thing funny. My husband was really confused when I told him last week the baby was the size of a string bean. He was like "that's way too skinny, how is the baby that thin"

I had to explain that I don't think it's an exact science. Not to mention every app gives you a different fruit/vegetable.

@kaessi I hope you get your results soon! How long have you been waiting? I got mine 5 business days after my appointment. The wait was torture.

@irenejean Yay! So happy to hear the results came back normal. I'm having a girl too! Seems like boys are dominating the board so it's nice to see another girl on the way.

13 weeks today, baby is the size of a hot jalapeno? Interesting. Almost to second tri!

2. How are you feeling?
I've developed an exciting case of carpel tunnel in my left wrist/hand. I'm going on Thursday to get a steroid shot into the tendon to help relax it a little bit so I can at least use my thumb a bit. Buckling the car seats of the girls lately has been HARD, not to mention picking up anything or gripping anything. OUCH.

3. Any appointments coming up?
Not until the first week of November. I still can't decide if I want to know the sex or not!!! I need to make up my mind before then.

Celebration: we have a "cool" front here in Texas!!!

5. GTKY: Tell us about your best friend (other then your SO!). How did you meet? How long have you known each other? Anything else you want to share!
This is always a question that makes me feel pathetic. We moved about every 18 months growing up, which means 4 different elementary schools, 2 different middle schools, and 3 different high schools. I have all these really nice and fun friends from everywhere, but no one that I truly feel like I "grew up with". I have a girlfriend I met in 8th grade that I still keep up with all the time, and a few friends from high school that all get together whenever we're in town at the same time, but I feel like most of my "best" friends have come from college, or even more so, "adult/mom" life. I still don't think I have one true best friend. My SIL is legit, and I have a close group of mom friends I'd probably plug into that hole. I sound so odd and pathetic though!

@Sissy42 Really hope the Dr. is able to help you on Thursday! Isn't the cool front SO nice?? It felt so good walking into work this morning. I love the "fall" weather! Also, your totally not odd or pathetic. I think a lot of people who moved often as kids have the same experience as you. My husband and I have moved states twice in the past two years because of his job and I am really trying to lay down the law about staying here for the foreseeable future. It's important to me that our kids are able to establish some long term relationships. I realize that may not always be in the cards for every family (military for example) but if I can at all help it I will do my best to keep us in one place!

@JJMNO1616 the cool front is AMAZING!! I promised the girls we'd stay at school for an hour after it gets out to play at the playground. I hope it's closer to this morning's temp then the more likely 90+!

I really don't regret the moves much. I got to meet a lot of different people and try things I otherwise might not have. I also learned how to adjust and be flexible at an early age... but when it comes down to this particular issue, long term friendships, it's a bit uncomfortable. Some of my super close mom friends all have best friends from childhood, and I'm really the only one who doesn't. My husband also has tons of friends that he grew up with. It's not something bugs me often, until it specifically comes up though, so I'm pretty sure I don't need therapy or anything

If you DO end up moving often, I'd really recommend finding ways to help your kiddo connect long term with the friends that they do make each place. Or find friends outside of school through a hobby or something, that are more likely to have a long term connection.

@Irenejean congrats on baby girl! And I'm totally jealous you live so close to your friend!
@Sissy42 I had 'baby/mother's thumb' after DS was born (I've heard its similar to carpal tunnel) and it was AWFUL. You don't realize how much you use those tendons until something aggravates them. I hope the shot helps! Also, on the friend front, I have friends from every stage of my life. I think its completely legitimate to be closer to some people you met later in life. I think its pretty rare to be super close to people you knew from a young age.

Feeling good! Saturday I was hit with a crazy bout of exhaustion so I took a nap (lol). Other than that, and the random nausea that will probably persist through this pregnancy... I'm feeling pretty good!

I'll preface this by saying that I feel like I have 3 best friends + my 2 sisters... who are also my best friends. My sisters are my sisters. Always there for me and despite occasional squabbles and hurt feelings we all love one another more than anyone. I've known my oldest friend, D, since we were in 7th grade. She was moody and hated me but by 8th grade I won her over. We've been friends since then. She and her hubby just visited last weekend. We see them about twice a year (if we're lucky) and primarily communicate through snapchat

. My second oldest friend, S, I've known since college. We were two introverted freshman nerds in the dry/academic dorm that need friends. She says I corrupted her. We bonded and have been friends ever since. We see each other maybe once a year if we're lucky. My 'newest' best friend, H, is someone I met through my DH. She's the wife of one of his coworkers and is my spirit animal. She's the kindest gentlest soul I know and would cut off her arm if someone else needed it more. She needs someone like me to remind her that she too needs that arm... She's local to me unlike my other BFFs so we see each other often. All my BFFs know each other so I get to share the joys and pains of life for all five of them with each other.

Morning (well, evening) sickness has started to reappear the past week or so. It's nowhere near as bad as it was in first tri but it's still seriously annoying.

I'm already huge and so uncomfortable. I'm seriously in fear of what I'm going to feel like in 5 months.

It's my sister! She's 1.5 years younger than me so I've known her basically forever. On top of being just generally awesome she and I share a lot of the same anxieties (which is kind of a lot) so I can always talk to her when I need calming down.

I am also pretty pathetic with this one. I had a falling out with my best friends in high school and I don’t keep in touch with my college friends very well. MH and I have married couple friends who are his best friends from high school. I have known them for about three years and they were in our wedding.

The icky first trimester symptoms seem mostly gone. Now I'm dealing with random cramping when I overdo it with too much walking- seems early for that! Sigh.

Nope, had NT scan last Thursday so I'm just waiting for results. I had low PAPP-A last time and they expect it this time, so I'm anxious to hear so my insurance will officially cover NIPT (it's only covered if medically necessary).

I I have close girlfriends but none that I see very often. The four of us have a group text going that's active at least once a week, but 3/4 of us have kids so we just can't find the time to meet up more than like once a year. I'm actually excited friend #4 just got married so I'm hoping they'll have kids fairly soon and then we'll all finally be in the same boat. Anyway we all met in HS but oddly didn't become super close until during/after college. I'm lucky to have them now, and thinking about them makes me miss seeing each other more often!!

@Kaessi I think it's awesome that you're having them so close! We were practically joined at the hip growing up. I mean don't get me wrong, we fought like all siblings do. But until high school all of our friends were mutual friends and we were together 24/7. We were still friends in high school but did branch out a bit more. We both went away to college to the same school and lived in the same suite and I think it cemented an adult friendship for us.

I met my best friend in college. She played softball with me and we were roommates for two years. We've known each other for 12 years now! She lives four hours away from me, which really sucks. I don't get to see her as much as I would like.

Today has been a weird, busy, bad news type of day, hope everyone else had a better day! I hope this isn’t a ‘Debbie Downer’ post.

15 weeks. Size of navel oranges.

Eh. Antibiotics finally (mostly) got rid of the cold. I’m still tired and fighting heartburn all the time. My favorite coworker left as I was getting in; her dad will be going into Hospice care tomorrow and it took me back to my late husband’s cancer journey, which began and ended in 2014.

3. Any appointments coming up?
Not for 3 weeks - I’m excited to go that long!

Just my 2 cents to live each day to the fullest. Nothing in life is guaranteed.

BFF and I met when our boys were in wrestling almost 5 years ago. Just hit it off, she is the nicest, most generous person I have ever met. She got me through my son’s suicide in 2013 and late husband’s illness and passing in 2014. In 2015, I helped her through her mom’s death. Now, we are celebrating the good times again!

1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby? 13 weeks today- last week of the first trimester! I feel like it has gone by so quickly, but I also feel like I've been pregnant a lot longer than 13 weeks. Baby is the size of a lemon.

2. How are you feeling? I've been feeling quite well this week. I am still experiencing nausea when I do not keep up with my eating, but it seems to have lessened. I am SO thankful for that. I had a few days of feeling dizzy, and I was on the verge of fainting during my clinicals. I think it was a combination of standing for multiple hours and not being able to eat or drink.. it was really scary. I am going to try to be more proactive this week to avoid another episode!

3. Any appointments coming up? Next Thursday.

4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions? My energy level has been increasing so I am very grateful for that.. I actually want to go out and do things.. rather than just lay on the couch.

I have some tough decisions coming up deciding about continuing with nursing school or taking a year off once baby arrives. I would love to hear if anyone has done full-time school with a newborn.

5. GTKY: Tell us about your best friend (other then your SO!). How did you meet? How long have you known each other? Anything else you want to share! I have a few friends that I would consider my "best friends". One of them I've known since elementary school, and we still see each other fairly regularly. The two others I lived with in college.. I feel like they helped to shape me into who I am today. I also consider my sister as one of my best friends.. she's due a few weeks after me, and it's been really wonderful to connect over our pregnancies.

@JJMNO1616 - thank you. By the time we pass (at an old age), we all have lots of loss. I had the two biggest in a short period of time at a pretty young age. I was lucky to be surrounded by good people and I didn’t stop living because ‘my guys’ wouldn’t have wanted me to. We had a great family and life. I am excited to be a mom again. It took me a few years to realize I didn’t just miss my son, but I missed being a mom too. And my 2 little ones will have some great guardian angels!

I actually saw my BFF tonight for dinner! We've been friends since 10th grade, so almost 20yrs! The first 4 letters of our last names were the same so she sat right behind me in every class that we shared. She's the one person who's opinion I truly value. She's the kind of person to give you the shirt off her back without thinking about it.

EVERYONE I want to tell the news to knows, so that I'm just happy to have that anxiety over with and be able to talk about it freely.

I have REALLY great friends, one I met in college as a random freshman roommate and we try to get together every once in a while. We can talk about anything, and she is a very low maintenance friend, which I'm sorry to admit I love. My other best friends I've known since 2nd grade, but have been friends with since 8th and one I have grown apart with in the last couple years, and one I have grown closer to; they are the best. HOWEVER, the one I am closest with has gone thru 4-5 IUIs and is now starting IVF, and with me being pregnant...she has been kind of snippy with me sometimes about random stuff and, I can tell, feels i'm not grateful for being able to get pregnant easily. So that has been hard to deal with.

@itsrandiyo I know how you feel because I grew up in Michigan but now that I live in Texas I have been DYING for a real Fall day. We finally got a bit of a cool front in where it's chilly in the morning and like 75 during the day and it's been SO NICE. I really miss Michigan Fall but knowing winter in right around the corner I'm fine staying here in Texas lol I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties you are experiencing with your friend. That's such a hard situation. I can tell you that out of all of my friends I am the only person that took more then 1 try to get KU. All of my girlfriends got pregnant their very first month trying or had "oops" pregnancies. Even though 4 months is certainly NOT a long time at all it was really starting to get to me mentally seeing all my friends get pregnant "so easily" (which I know is completely ridiculous because 4 months is nothing). I can only imagine how painful this must be for your friend but at the same time it's not fair for you to take the brunt of that either.

@itsrandiyo I'm in Indiana and i'm sooooo happy it's finally becoming colder. I love sweatshirt weather! I don't really mind winter because I love wearing lots of layers but I do hate snow (because people lose all ability to drive) and when it's so cold it hurts to breath outside.

YES, it is SO hard because I really understand that it is hard for her to hear about my pregnancy and I am more then willing to just talk about her journey and I'm excited for her to go through it. But, I really do take a lot of brunt and snotty off hand comments about things that I know just stem from her resenting me a little bit right now. Even though, I did have a MC last pregnancy so I even have a little more perspective. Oh well, I just have to stand by her and be positive, and let her abuse me while she needs to I guess lol

I'm a day late because this week has already been CRAZY!

1. How many weeks along are you? How big is baby?
Week 14 - officially in my 2nd tri! Baby is the size of a peach.
2. How are you feeling?
IRRITABLE. I thought I was over the hormonal craziness, but it's been especially rough these past few days. I've got a lot going on and I'm not coping with the stress very well.
3. Any appointments coming up?
None until November.
4. Rants, raves, celebrations, questions?
I'm eloping tomorrow! In the rain!! Thursday we announce our elopement and pregnancy to our families. I am SO excited but cannot wait for the week to be done. Also, I promise to shut up about it after this week!
5. GTKY: Tell us about your best friend (other then your SO!). How did you meet? How long have you known each other? Anything else you want to share!
I met my best friend about 13 years ago. Her husband and my husband at the time were best friends from high school. Even after my divorce, she's stuck by my side no matter what. She is from Germany and moved back for 6 months right after I found out I was pregnant. She and her husband are going to be travelling around South East Asia from Jan through June, so I'll live vicariously through her Instagram. I'm pretty heartbroken that she's missing my wedding and the birth.

@itsrandiyo, I'm in the same boat as you with my other best friend. She's been ttc for 3 years and just had a failed round of IVF. I has been really hard for us to stay close lately.

@g_amoss, I'm so amazed by your resilience! So exciting that you're bringing TWO babies into your world now.

@sarelizr, I have done a really poor job of keeping in touch with old friends. I also had a falling out with my best friend from high school. I'm not too sad about it though because I'm a hardcore introvert and keeping up with friendships is exhausting to me.

I hope everything goes well and your family is happy for you! What a weight lifted off when that's done. and I'm sorry to hear about your friend, it is hard. She is lesbian, so there only choice is IUIs and IVF...so they had no prior trying.

@keeksie84 same!! I am also an introvert but have to turn it off for work (healthcare)... so general life is rather exhausting. I wish I was better and I miss most of those I’ve lost touch with, but I’m also okay with it.
