Re: 9 Week Check-In 10/16

  • thanks for starting @sandbar517

    What symptoms are you having?
Nausea if I don't eat every 2 hours, car sickness, and overall fatigue.  I think the nausea is getting a bit better.

    Rants/Raves:
I am hoping to start eating better this week too, I haven't gained any weight yet, but I have been eating complete garbage.  Had a talk with SO last night about diet changes and I told him he doesnt understand what it's like to be nauseous almost 24/7.

Any questions this week?  Anyone do 4+ hour flights with their toddlers. We have a trip planned at the end of the month and we booked the flights to align with sleep times, I'm trying to figure out in my head how DS will lay down comfortably, he does have his own seat now that he is over 2.  I'm thinking of buying a inflatable foot stool thing that will allow him to spread out, i've tried google and there are quite a few out there, anyone else have any ideas or suggestions?  I know he could lay on one of us, but that is not going to be a comfortable plane ride.

    GTKY: Describe your dream house.
Ranch home on 5+acres with a basement and beautiful mountain or lake views.  Mud room big enough to house 2 dog crates, white kitchen with a farm sink and eat in table.  4 bedrooms all with en suites separated from the living areas so no noise can disrupt the sleeping kids.  and a 4+car garage to house outside toys and 2 vehicles.
Separate guest house too!   A girl can dream.

-I think one of my other apps said the size of a grape.  When I first became pregnant the whole size of this fruit comparison was weird to me.  Instead of imagining that the embryo was the size of something I kept picturing the actual fruit. Walking around like yes I have an apple seed in my tummy. Yes I have a blueberry right now.

    What symptoms are you having?

-Today is the fourth day in a row that I don't feel like a huge pile of poop. The nausea is still there but it comes in waves and I'm able to operate like a normal human.  The burping & fatigue is still very present.

    Rants/Raves:

-My husband surprised me and has the day off.  Super happy that I don't have to make myself breakfast.

    Any questions this week?

    -Hmm no not yet.

    GTKY: Describe your dream house.

-I live in SoCal in a little college town. The houses are very old with a lot of charm and character.  I would love to have an older Spanish style home with a yard big enough for chickens.  I would love a private deck off the master suite with a ton of Bougainvillea.  A fireplace in the master as well. A huge kitchen with an open transition to the living room.  Also a lot of windows because I'm obsessed with natural light.
  • So I'm just shy of 9w (8w+5) so I think I'm going to go here.

    What symptoms are you having?
Crazy exhausted still. Mostly in the morning if I don't get up and get moving right away (aka no trying to lounge on the weekends) and bedtime is 930 sharp.

Boobs are still killing me and nausea if I don't eat every few hrs.

Relaxin seems to be kicking in too, which leads me to:

    Rants/Raves:
FINALLY able to get back to working out after being on pelvic rest for 3 weeks. Halfway through my workout my knee starts KILLING me. Had to walk instead of jog, I'm assuming it's the relaxin coming into play.

    Any questions this week?
    nope

    GTKY: Describe your dream house.

dream home would be a sprawling single floor. I hate the stairs but want the bedrooms far enough away from the living room that I don't have to worry about keeping the kids up if we have company.

would love a master bath with a separate shower/tub. His and hers walk in closets.

big kitchen with subway tiles, white cupboards, big island and dark metal light fixtures.

Would love light grey wood floor throughout the house. I also love wainscoting and navy walls (not navy through the whole house)

    also a huge backyard.

    Some inpiration:

No other sizes for baby, but I'm glad @firefliesandfjords posted which app had the animals.  I saw it on Facebook the other day and forgot what it was called!

Symptoms are still nausea and vomiting, but it seems to be easing slightly.   It may just be a good day, though.   The good thing about the random good days is that I can get hydrated again!!!   my constipation is pretty bad though.

Only question I have is what are you ladies doing about your constipation?  I've been doing colace daily but it doesn't seem to be moving much.

I love plantation style houses with the balconies and big porches.   If I ever had a home with a balcony, it would have to be in the back and surrounded by trees so no one could see, cause you better believe I'd be using that to air dry after showers.  Hahaha!

ETA:  a castle would be fine too.
  • @roomsu, this is my second and pretty much as soon as I found out, my pants stopped fitting and I had to use a hair band since I couldn't button.   It's too soon for that mess!    :|
  • @roomsu, we have 3 bedrooms- master, nursery, spare. Our b/g twins share the nursery and we will turn the spare bedroom into another nursery. We don't know what baby 3 will be, but when they're a year or 2 we'll put them in a room with whatever sibling is the same sex. Then the odd one out will have their own room.
I will cry on that day because our twins have only slept apart 3 nights and that was when DS needed to spend extra time in the nicu.
  • @firefliesandfjords thank you for your input! DS has flown 4 or 5 times now, but was always small enough to either hold or halfway lay on us, now that he's 2.5 I think the car seat may be the way to go so he has his own space that he can be contained in.  He's a pretty good flier so hoping it continues with this next trip.  What types of activities do you bring on plane rides for your kids now? I could use some tips there too in case he doesn't sleep lol
  • @bwow615 I hit up the dollar spot at target. Color/sticker books and such. Buying internet on the flight is a good idea too- money well invested if you can stream a show and keep your sanity.
  • @bwow615 We had a few of their favorite movies on an iPad, and kept them from watching them for about two weeks before the trip so they'd be extra engrossed while watching them. We also bought each kiddo a Magnadoodle which went over really well! Snacks helped too.  :)
  •  Do you have other "sizes" for baby other than the bump fruits?
No other sizes. I find the fruit to be kind of odd since baby isn't really the right shape for most of them. I'm excited to check out the animals that others mentioned.

    What symptoms are you having?
nausea all day and literally no interest in food. It has been like this since week 5....

    Rants/Raves:
DH and I got to have an unexpected dinner date this week. I wish I was feeling well enough to enjoy my food but I did get some of it down which was good.

    Any questions this week?
for those with toddlers, how are you telling them/explaining baby in mommy's belly? We will be telling our 2 year old soon but I'm not sure she will understand. Any book suggestions about becoming a sibling?

    GTKY: Describe your dream house.
huge beach house with wrap around porch and lots of windows. Balcony off master suite that overlooks ocean, off white and stainless kitchen with big island and a finished bastment for all the kid toys to live.
  • What symptoms are you having? Nausea, but it has been much lighter than my last 2 pregnancies.   My biggest symptom is excessive tiredness.  I am constantly tired and nap almost everyday.  So tired.

Rants/Raves:  No complaints.  I feel huge already which I know is a joke lol

    Any questions this week?  Nope

GTKY: Describe your dream house.  Any house would be fine, the part that would make it a dream house would be if it had a homekeeper so I didnt have to do any chores lol

  • @sharkmama39 my knees were hurting running too! It was earlier in the pregnancy, but definitely thinking it might be related. I run everyday so I couldn't figure out why they started hurting at first.

  • Thanks @sharkmama39 and @firefliesandfjords I will be making a trip to the dollar store and downloading some movies. Need to get on that soon so I don't run out of time!
  • What symptoms are you having? Fatigue, nausea, food aversion, insomnia, bloat, gas

Rants/Raves: when I finally decide I can eat something and then the smell of it being cooked makes me nauseous and then I can't eat it or have to eat it while trying not to vomit

Any questions this week? Has anyone done or is planning to do massages, chiropractor visits, or acupuncture?
GTKY: Describe your dream house. Lots of light, neutral colors, always filled with flowers, spacious, giant walk in closet just for me.
  • @jenbabymama, I plan to do a massage closer to time.  I'll definitely be doing some other pampering before labor.   I went over with my first and spent those days getting a pedicure and getting my hair and eyebrows done.  Treat yo'self.
  • @jenbabymama I did several massages with my first and it was wonderful. Just make sure you book a prenatal massage so they have the room set up with extra pillows since you won't be able to lay on your belly soon. I went to the chiropractor after delivery but might go before this time as well.
  • @oywiththepoodlesalready, were you on the Oct 15 boards?   Your username looks familiar.

note, it could just look familiar because I've seen it recently and I'm merging it with my last bump experience!  Hahaha!

@beckles112 I was in october 15! I kind of feel off at the end because my DD decide for to make her arrival early.
  • @oywiththepoodlesalready, I knew I recognized it!  I fell off toward the end too.   I got a little jealous of everyone having their babies and had to take a break.  Mine took forever to arrive and I actually ended up being a November mom.
  • Another app I’m also using says that at nine werks, baby is the size of an olive! I thought that was cute.
