WTF to whoever left their #2 in the bathroom at work! Ugh! There's a plunger in there for a reason, people!
Also, there's a huge event tomorrow that people have been doing tons of work and office improvement and all that for...whoever's problem that is had better take care of it before a bunch of customers need to use the women's bathroom tomorrow...
@MJDsquared Oh hell no. I hope they clean it up quickly.
My minor WTF is that building management is pulling new wire through our suite to support some other project and there's basically always someone on a ladder at, near, around, or in the way of my desk. At almost 34 weeks, I'm not feeling the obstacle course vibe. And somehow the death glare of the unamused pregnant lady does not inspire them to get out of my way.
WTF to TB randomly inserting advertisements in the middle of long threads. I only mobile bump so idk if it's like that on desktop already, but it's confusing me greatly!
Winning: Our new kitchen countertop and sink were finally installed today! The co-op board took forever to approve the alteration so we have been waiting on this for weeks.
WTF: Pottery barn kids. Our crib has been delayed further on backorder and while that's not a huge deal, the dresser is on hold as well since they want to deliver it with the crib. I emailed and called them (had to give up after being on hold for 30 minutes) and haven't gotten a response! I'm THIS close to cancelling the order, if only I could get a hold of someone to do it...!!
Winning: MY MUTHAFUCKIN KITCHEN TILE! Hell yes it looks amazing! Just a couple more days until we are FINISHED with the most annoying remodel of all time!!!! Sorry to anyone who gets annoyed by my remodel bitching. I promise, I’m over it too. You’ll never have to hear about it again soon
@blueskies17 We ordered our dresser/changing table from PBKids near the end of August and it didn't come in until the end of September-- I think it took just shy of 6 weeks.
@elcd458 we ordered ours during labor day weekend and they told us it would ship in mid October (so about 6 weeks). When I checked the order status this week, it said that the crib is now further backordered until mid to end of November!
@Amber_Waves Maybe that's actually short for: "Preheat the oven to 475 deg in case this goes poorly and you need to make frozen pizza to feed your family" (Otherwise, it's ridiculous)
Winning! DH picked up my new La-z-boy on the way home from work today and helped me put together my reading / rock the baby nook in our bedroom. Once the baby moves to its own room so will the chair, but for now I'm going to enjoy it.

It's Thursday but a huge ol' WTF to ALL my coworkers. Last night, the manager of the branch sent an email asking people to use overflow parking because we only have 29 spaces in front of our building and we're having a big event today. He wanted a few cars out front so it didn't look dead in here. He also asked that people leave a space between their car and the next one. Anyway, I parked in the overflow parking and I'm six and a half months pregnant. As I walk up, I see like five cars already parked out front, two of which are right next to each other in the closest spots. If the pregnant lady can walk, you're just damn lazy.
ALSO I'm always cold in this office (you know the whole "keep the thermostat at a man's comfort level" in offices that often leaves women freezing?) so I have a blanket and a space heater that are used frequently. I planned on turning my space heater off when the event starts because noise, but, uh, why the hell did someone decide to prop the effing door open? I already had my blanket on and heater going, it's not hot in here. And it's rainy and cloudy and gross and only 9 a.m. so it's certainly cold outside. UGH SO MUCH PREGNANCY RAGE.
So day late, but yesterday at work the air conditioning unit on the side of the office I work in was off. Granted we have about 6 units throughout the building and the actual temperature was 72 degrees but with no circulations in the exam rooms it was SO stuffy. Plus I seriously walk around 3 miles a day in my office grabbing patients because we average 140-150 patients a day. Anyways, had a spell of tachycardia (already diagnosed with a 72 hour holter monitor wear a few weeks ago). My heart rate jumped to 132 and I felt sweaty and slightly sick to my stomach. I tell my boss I need to sit and have a break for thirty minutes (as instructed preciously by my OB) and he tells me that he can't continue to let me have breaks without some kind of note stating that it is necessary for me to rest. Like WTF.
@maddilatti Omg, are you kidding me? He needs a note telling him that a woman 2 months from giving birth needs to SIT?? I would absolutely lose it. I hope to god you have some kind of recourse.
@Amber_Waves I don't check my emails after hours either, it was sent at 3:40 p.m. Lol. I know most of the people parked like that were in the office at that time. Plus, they're sales reps, so they do all have company cell phones with email access (as a lot of them work remotely/go out on client meetings/go cold calling).
@maddilatti Ummm, excuse me?! That is so frustrating! Can your OB fax a note so you don't even have to wait until your next appt and can shove it in his face? Haha.
Update: Left for lunch and I didn’t see a single car I recognized in the overflow lot. And all our front spots are full plus people just randomly pulled over to the side of the “road” (it’s a business park, so not a real road) on the curb.
@Amber_Waves Yeah, I should’ve said “yesterday,” that would’ve made more sense!
@hellothere47 I luckily have the situation handled I think! I just hate to ruffle feathers and feel like I'm not pulling my weight but I am hauling around a baby...sooo
OK it's Saturday, but I didn't want to start a new thread just about this as it fits here. My WTF is my boyfriends sister planning my baby shower. I am grateful to be having a shower, but we are two weeks away from the date and she has yet to secure a location. And keeps asking me for ideas and telling me the cost of locations like she is wanting me to pay for it. I'm sorry, but no. I shouldn't be thins involved in planning and preparing for my baby shower. The women hosting my work shower asked if I had a theme in mind and which flavors of cake I prefer And that was is. But my BF's sister has "called" regular meetings with me to plan and shop. Maybe I'm old school but I'm the guest of honor, I shouldn't be basically planning and prepping my whole shower. i've been pretty graceful about the whole thing, but I'm getting near the ned of my rope quickly with it.
@jesrude Yikes! Yeah, she's lost the plot on that one...if she's hosting, it's her job to pay and plan. There are plenty of ways to keep it low budget if that's what she needs. Do you have another family member who understands this & you could ask to check in with her/help?
It's definitely not Wednesday, but I'm finally allowed to post again (winning), but WTF The Bump! It was driving me crazy to not be able to post, message anyone or even love tit. I'm glad they finally fixed the issue! I was thinking of creating a new account to see if that would work LOL.
@Amber_Waves my mom would be the only person I think that would. And I've been caught between the two for a few weeks. It's pushing me to the edge between the venue issues and being the go-between for them. I'm almost to the point where I couldn't care less about my baby shower which is breaking my heart because (flame away) this will be my second shower. My sister kind of ruined my first son's baby shower, so I had slightly higher hopes for this one.
Sorry I'm venty and emotional. Just how hard is it to plan a baby shower?!? There are SO many incredible resources out there. If you don't know Google/Pinterest/etc. it.
@jesrude that's annoying, it almost sounds like she is trying to cop-out of doing it. My mom was like that with DS's shower... but luckily we got it out of the way early enough that I was able to put my foot down and be like 'no, this is the day we'll do it, I will be there, these are my *very generalized* preferences (games vs no games etc) the rest is up to you, do not ask me further"...and she took it upon herself to elicit help from others. Luckily my family loves planning events so she had a lot of help.
@jesrude It's unfair that you can't trust her to just get the job done. If she couldn't do it, she should have said something in the beginning. This is supposed to be a happy time!
@failuretofly & @babybison - this seems like a weird thing to say thank you for, but thank you. I'm glad I'm not alone in thinking this is a little "inappropriate". I agree that providing a guest list, generalized preferences, and maybe a general theme is OK, but asking me to help shop for it and menu plan and figure out where to have it is a bit much. She tried to change the location and time today too! I had to say no because we are a week and half away from the shower and these are details that should have been finalized weeks ago.
I'm just thankful the ladies throwing my work shower are so on top of it and only asked for a general theme and which flavor I would prefer on my cake. They have done everything else.
@jesrude If it's a week and a half away but there's no location, how do your guests know it's happening? Since I'm assuming invitations couldn't be sent out until a venue was chosen. I hope it all works out!
WTF to the office manger at my OB's office (who is my OB's mother) who has never once returned an email or confirmed we've been scheduled for classes. Even if I talk to her in person, there's no sort of confirmation, and then we were somehow left off last month's list. I'm running out of weeks to take these classes and I'd like to take them from my OB because she's awesome. Grr.
@leilagphillips she FINALLY decided on a location this past weekend, but it took some pushing and me providing her a list of small event spaces in our area. She didn't send invitations, it's a facebook event.... yay!... Which means I get to create and order my own invite AGAIN to have as a keepsake.
I hope it does! She keeps trying to get me to do things, and I'm just like girl! come on I have other stuff going on and I'm meant to be the guest of honor not co-host.
@jesrude Wow, you have WAY more patience than I do! I gave my mom the guest list, told her I'd like her to do a diaper raffle and suggested just a ribbon instead of gift wrap, and approved of the venue when she checked it with me (though I didn't even expect her to run it by me) and that was IT. I'm sorry your bf's sister is failing so miserably at this, if it were me I'd tell her point blank, "I'm not helping you with this at all anymore!" You've got other shit to deal with like growing and preparing for a tiny human to arrive in your life within the next few weeks!
@leilagphillips I have had way more patience than I should and I think it stems from my slight avoidance when it comes to conflict with people like this. I have a really hard time sticking up for myself and putting my foot down.
She and her mom are touring the venue tomorrow and she asked me if I wanted to go, and I'm like um not really. I'll just show up when it's time thanks!

recipe tells you to preheat oven.
no part of the recipe requires use of the oven.
I swear these errors are becoming more common.
