Due Date Check-in: Second Week of June (6/8-6/14)

We're testing out a new check-in process that will either be in addition to or instead of the ticker changes. Basically the ticker changes are based on if your ticker swaps over to a new week on a particular day of the week (mine is Tuesday because I am 6+0 today), but this will be for everyone who is, say, 5-6 weeks right now. Our hope is that this will be a helpful check-in for folks going through the same things at the same times, and possibly more relevant than the ticker changes. Please bear with us while we work out the kinks for these. Suggestions welcome!

Re: Due Date Check-in: Second Week of June (6/8-6/14)

  • What's your EDD?
According to LMP and the web, June 9.  But I'm likely to end up being induced late May due to pre-eclampsia if my last two pregnancies are any indication (Induced with DS1 at 38 weeks and DS2 at 37 weeks, 3 days).  And I haven't had the dating ultrasound yet.  So who knows.

    How are you feeling?
Mostly fine.  Some loss of appetite.  Thirsty.  That's about it.

    Any appointments this week/coming up?
Not this week.  First appointment and ultrasound is Oct. 30.

    Rants/Raves?
    Work is SLOW.

    Questions?
    Nope.

GTKY: what's your favorite brand of bottled water?
Nestle Pure Life or Smart Water

What are your thoughts/suggestions about this new check-in format?
I'm fine with it.  I do think that dictating who posts where and what this early in the game will be rather fruitless as we'll have people joining throughout the pregnancy that won't abide by the "rules."  So I'm generally more relaxed about posts vs. having a need for strict adherence to organization.

    How are you feeling?
Pretty good. No obvious changes besides mildly sore boobs and definitely nerves but that’s not necessarily a symptom.
    Any appointments this week/coming up?
Friday I have a scan and I’m a wreck about it.

What are your thoughts/suggestions about this new check-in format? I think this is cool. I feel this is better than tickets. I do think it could clog the board for a couple days and could take away from other threads if they are all posted on the same day. The board might be more even if they are posted on a different day, say daily mon-thurs or tue-fri. I like the idea though because even though I know I’ll go as early as the end of may I feel more connected to moms due my same week.

How are you feeling?  Weird.  I'm starting to get nauseous and I hate the feeling, but I'm always excited to get a new symptom.  Very tired, but my sleep doesn't feel restful.

Any appointments this week/coming up? Ultrasound on the 25th.  I'm getting more and more anxious about it.

Rants/Raves? I've been totally lazy the last week and my husband has been awesome about it.

GTKY: what's your favorite brand of bottled water?  Anything that's not Arrowhead.

What are your thoughts/suggestions about this new check-in format? I like it because my ticker change is Saturday and I'm not on the bump over the weekends :D

    How are you feeling?

I'm feeling alright. Better than my last pregnancy. I have some heartburn, my boobs hurt, and my tummy hurts a little.

    Any appointments this week/coming up?

My first appointment is on October 30

    Rants/Raves?

    Can't complain.

    Questions?

Anyone have baby names picked out already?

GTKY: what's your favorite brand of bottled water?

I am not sure if I have a favorite but I sure can tell you the worst. ARROWHEAD IS DISGUSTING.

What are your thoughts/suggestions about this new check-in format?(consider language in the prompts, structure, whether it should replace ticker check-ins or be additional, etc.)

I think this should be in addition to the ticker check-ins. But I do like this week thing better.

  • @asun123 We have a handful for both boy and girl. I'm finding it much harder this time!

    What's your EDD?
    Going off O - June 11

    How are you feeling?
Pretty good now that all my betas are done and rising appropriately. Have some food aversions.

    Any appointments this week/coming up?
Had my last beta yesterday. Next appointment will be October 30 for a second US.

    Rants/Raves?
    None

    Questions?
For those who may be having their third or more baby, how quickly did you start to show with your second?

GTKY: what's your favorite brand of bottled water?
Perrier. For flat water, anything except Aquafina or Dasani.

What are your thoughts/suggestions about this new check-in format?(consider language in the prompts, structure, whether it should replace ticker check-ins or be additional, etc.)

For now I think I like this better. Everyone is still waiting for dating ultrasounds and such, and their ticker change may change within the coming weeks. I think it should also be determined if this gets refreshed every week or just continues to go. Could make for very long threads as we have new members join and we get further along.

    June 13th
    How are you feeling?
    Tired, some morning sickness
    Any appointments this week/coming up?
Next Monday is a registration appt with a nurse.
    Rants/Raves?
Nothing specific, I'm pretty easy going
    Questions?
Can we do a thread for military spouses? Or should I go directly to the military board?
GTKY: what's your favorite brand of bottled water?
Aquafina I guess, we have a large Brita pitcher so we don't do much bottled water
What are your thoughts/suggestions about this new check-in format?
I like this style. Might be easier
  • What's your EDD?
    June 12th

    How are you feeling?
Mostly fine. I'm getting up to pee multiple times a night, and I have occasional feelings of nausea, but that's about it.

    Any appointments this week/coming up?
My first appointment isn't until Nov. 6th.

    Rants/Raves?
    Not really.

    Questions?
I'd love to know who all is planning to use a doula? I will be this time, as I'm going for a VBAC, and statistics say doulas reduce c-section rates.

GTKY: what's your favorite brand of bottled water?
    I don't drink bottled water.

What are your thoughts/suggestions about this new check-in format?
I'm new to the Bump, so it's all new to me!

  • Questions?
For those who may be having their third or more baby, how quickly did you start to show with your second?
I'm pregnant with my third.  With my second I felt like I was showing earlier (maybe 12 weeks?), but I also got pregnant with DS2 when DS1 was only 8 months old, so that may have something to do with it.  I was also still nursing and didn't have any boob soreness the second time since they were currently functioning, LOL.  Oh, and I felt kicks earlier with DS2, around 15 weeks.

    How are you feeling?
So tired all day, every day. A little nausea here and there, but nothing like what I experienced with my other two kids.
    Any appointments this week/coming up?
October 31st is first appointment. Just paperwork and bloodwork with a NP. Ultrasound on November 22nd.
    Rants/Raves?
    Nope.
    Questions?
Any other Northwest Arkansas Mamas on here? if so, hey!! *waves*
GTKY: what's your favorite brand of bottled water?
I never buy it. I just fill my knock off "yeti" cup with filtered water from the refrigerator.
What are your thoughts/suggestions about this new check-in format?
Seems like a good idea so far. I'm all about more organized formats.

  • Questions?
For those who may be having their third or more baby, how quickly did you start to show with your second?

With my second I started to show around 10-12 weeks. Didn't even make it out of my first trimester before people were commenting and asking questions. So..that blew my plan to wait till second trimester to tell anyone.

  • What's your EDD? 6/11 (6w)

How are you feeling? pretty good. nothing major symptom wise. boob tenderness and frequent urination is my major thing right now (from 3-7pm yesterday I went to the bathroom 6 times).

Any appointments this week/coming up? I had an appointment Monday (10/16) kinda pointless, still waiting to hear back about blood work. Next appointment is Tuesday 10/24 I'll be 7 weeks and hoping to get an u/s with good results.

Rants/Raves? I'm tired of being anxious. I like having this little secret but I'm starting to feel lonely. Only 1 of my friends know (bc she's pregnant and she's also the only one who knew we were ttc) and my DH knows. He's no use to talk to, and my pregnant friend has her own issues to worry about I don't want to overwhelm her with mine. I am ready to tell my mom and friends. Time is going so slow. (like everyone I'm sure) I just want to know this pregnancy is healthy and be happy and share this happiness with my family and close friends.

    Questions? none at the moment

GTKY: what's your favorite brand of bottled water? Zephyrhills its Florida spring water I don't get it often since I live in Texas now

What are your thoughts/suggestions about this new check-in format? I think it should replace tickers. I mean there isn't a huge difference right now because we are all 4-8 weeks. We are all kind of subject to the same things. But we don't have the same appointments and things of that nature and the differences will widen as time goes on. Plus I don't actually use my ticker I just know my last period came on a Tuesday so I use Tuesday as my mark for being another week. I prefer this way.

    How are you feeling?
Pretty good, not too many symptoms here. I have gotten a couple migraines but that's pretty much it.
    Any appointments this week/coming up?
None, first appointment  and ultrasound is 11/6/17.
    Rants/Raves?
I really need to start walking and being more active. The last couple of months I've really fell off the wagon and haven't been working out much.
    Questions?
    None right now!
GTKY: what's your favorite brand of bottled water?
    Life Water
What are your thoughts/suggestions about this new check-in format?
I like this format way better.

I just wanted to comment on your rant/rave. I have had a miscarriage and it breaks my heart that women want to keep their pregnancy a secret from close family (your mom) until they know it is for sure a healthy pregnancy. Obviously I hope everything goes well with your baby/pregnancy. But like they always say, the biggest regret was keeping a miscarriage a secret. I wish you the best of luck!

  • *doctor called around 3pm betas came back "excellent" (yay)
@asun123 thanks for your advice. *TW My mom actually lost her last pregnancy it was about 8 years ago. It was unexpected and she was in her early 40s but she was devastated End TW* I just didn't want to subject her to that pain when I didn't know if things were okay with me. But as of an hour ago she knows and is excited about another grandchild.

Now I also texted my best friend (she lives in a different state) I said "[nickname]" and she immediately responded "hey what's up" and then I said "I'm pregnant" and its been more than an hour and she's said nothing. I'm starting think I was eager to tell for no reason. I'm awfully disappointed. This is my best friend of 10 years, the maid of honor in my wedding, my college roommate for 3 years. I was happy for the first time in over two weeks (since all my symptoms went away and I found out my progesterone was low) when I got the news about my betas. Now I don't know how to feel. Definitely making me reconsider telling anyone else.

I feel some nausea in the evenings, especially if I'm tired, but it seems to be hit and miss. Yesterday I felt great.  I don't like the stretching feeling, especially when I cough or sneeze.

I'm so thirsty all the time I'm not sure I could afford all the bottled water I would drink. We have a great ice machine with filtered water at work, so I keep that in an insulated cup.

New to the bump, so all the different threads are confusing.
