Questions for FTM, or STM+? I honestly feel sort of overwhelmed about choosing a stroller and I don't know why. Like, do you choose the stroller and just figure it out with the car seat? We live in Manhattan now, and almost certainly will when baby is born, but we do want to move back to ca. Just seems like what I'd want in a city is so different from what I'd want in the suburbs? I honestly have no idea why I find it so overwhelming.
@doxiemoxie212 lurking, but to answer your question about strollers -- do you have a car? Some car seats fit better in certain cars. For example, the britax didn't sit securely in our Subaru so we ended up choosing another car seat. Go with what fits first and foremost. If you don't have a car, and live in the city, start with size. Don't go with a monster unless you have your heart set on it (uppababy vista for example). A snap and go stroller is cheap and small. You can use it with most car seats. Then, once the kid is out of the bucket, you can switch to an umbrella. I live in the suburbs but work in the city (and daycare is in the City). An umbrella works best for both situations.
@marcus7676 we live in NYC, so we use DH's parents car sometimes (Honda Pilot), but it's not realistic for us to actually use for anything other than his parents driving us to/from the airport, lol. We walk or take the subway everywhere, but I freelance, so I get on the subway these days max once a month.
I imagine I'll want to use the stroller as sort of a shopping cart. I see other moms in NYC doing this, and I love the idea of not having to lug a bunch of bags around with the baby... lol. They don't even use shopping carts in the grocery store - just load everything into the pouch under the stroller. I see Uppababy and Buggaboo labels a lot, but I have no idea about make/model, etc.
What are your symptoms? Tender boobs, pointy nipples, on and off cramping (that I think is more to do with constipation issues), always tired, and the last few days I started getting some nausea. Mostly when I'm hungry or eating, but it's pretty mild and I haven't thrown up. MH and I spent some time last night trying to figure out if my boobs have gotten bigger or not. We settled with maybe lol.
What appointments have you had/do you have coming up? How'd it go? Ultrasound on the 25th (I'll be 7+4). It seems even farther away than it did last week.
Rants/raves? MH has taken it upon himself to reorganize/repaint our house. This is awesome because I suck at this stuff and it's starting to look really nice. Also he's been doing it while I watch from the couch because he's letting me play up the pregnancy thing.

@Amphibious22 I told my BFF at 3+6. I told my mom and aunt at 7+0. I'm going to tell DH's parents and brothers tomorrow. My great aunt, mom's cousin and mom's friend will know Saturday. We'll tell our friends at 9+0. So, clearly I'm following the rules v closely, lol. My thing is, I told everyone when (TW) I MCed last year, so I might as well tell them I'm PG now. I've told everyone that if they want to spread the news further they are responsible for un-spreading if I MC again, and I explain the statistics and what the realm of possibility is for that so they fully understand. Most people don't want that burden, so they keep it quiet. But if you wouldn't want to tell anyone about a MC, then I wouldn't tell anyone about the PG yet.
@doxiemoxie212 first, I'm sorry for your loss. And you make a good point. I think that I might tell all the people I'm close enough with that I wouldn't want them to find out from someone else or on fb next week and then wait to do a fb blast until around Thanksgiving. I feel like if I'm close enough with someone to want to tell them in person (or over the phone) then I would also be okay telling them about a loss.
Me 30 Him 30 Married August 2015 DS born 5/23/2018 TTC #2 July 2020
@Amphibious22 no worries! And yeah, we probs won't do any social media until mid-December, but most people we talk to will all know by then so it would just be a formality/something fun.
@Amphibious22 We are telling our immediate family at Thanksgiving. Mainly because we live out of state and I want to tell our parents in person. Which is also why it isn't hard to not blab because we wont see them until them. We are planning on doing social media on Christmas.
We did tell one couple friend on Saturday. It was hard to avoid it since they knew we were TTGP and I recently saw her and said that I was waiting to get my period last week. I do feel kind of guilty because they know before our parents but I know they would never share it with anyone.

Gonna have to come back to comment... How far along are you? TB and BC give me slightly different answers, let's go with 3+6.
What are your symptoms? Right now not any. My boobs are swollen but I'm pretty sure it's the progesterone. Occasionally getting abdominal muscle spasms on the left side of my abdomen but I am assuming that's something about the extra blood flow going in there.
What appointments have you had/do you have coming up? How'd it go? We did betas and they looked good (8dpo 4.9, 12dpo 94). The betas were so early though... that I may go get another draw tomorrow morning from Quest myself. It'll be easier (i.e., lab is closer to my office) than going back to the RE's office and probably not much different in price... I know, I am crazy.
Rants/raves? Not really. Feeling good still. Wouldn't mind some symptoms... My mom was wishing me morning sickness on the phone yesterday, lol.
Questions for FTM, or STM+? Can't think of any right now.
GTKY: What's for dinner tonight? We use Blue Apron and it was delivered today. Choice between bean enchiladas, brown butter gnocchi, and risotto. Usually I ask DH which sounds best to him.
How far along are you? 4+6 What are your symptoms? very exhausted, sore breasts, nausea at times but crackers help, brown spotting and had light red blood when i wiped a few times - needless to say i am super scared. nurse said it is ok unless it is more bright red blood. i have my first OB 10/26, so I reckon I'll wait till then and pray everything is alright What appointments have you had/do you have coming up? How'd it go? None yet, first on 10/26 Rants/raves? just down bc of those few times i wiped light red blood in the morning Questions for FTM, or STM+? Do any of you experience spotting? GTKY: What's for dinner tonight? Healthy meal plan we pick up every monday with pre-prepped meals for us and we'll pick from 4 options tonight, not sure yet haha

@izza2 I am a big fan of, if it will ease your mind in pregnancy, do it. If you want betas, ask for betas. I also am still POAS... @Amphibious22 So, my thoughts on who to tell and when are very much impacted by being PGAL. This got real long so the TLDR is I would caution against doing a social media type announcement or announcing to work until much later, but other than that, I feel like you should tell your best support people as soon as you are ready. *TW loss -- I have been in the position twice already of announcing my miscarriages without having first announced my pregnancy. I decided this time to do it differently, in part maybe because I have a high level of (irrational?) confidence about this pregnancy. Of course I told DH right away, but then I also told my sister the first day I had a positive test at 8dpo, even though it was the faintest line, I told my mom and a very close friend the next day. There are other people who know about one or both of my losses, but those are the three people (other than DH) I would 100% tell right away if we had a third loss, so I decided to "let them in on the ground floor" with our news. My advice is to consider who in your life you would absolutely want to know if you had a loss (hopefully this never comes up for you), and tell that person/those people as soon as you want to. end TW*. @RatParade The tricky thing about boobs is that they get kind of... fuller before they actually look bigger. I could tell the difference pretty quick (but mine are probably progesterone related) because at 35, my boobs had gotten a bit less perky than they used to be and now they are quite full. @doxiemoxie212 I think all the product stuff is really stressful, it feels very important. For now I'm handling it by not being ready to even start thinking about it. That makes sense it's hard to decide given you may relocate at an indeterminate time. Also, I like your call on the gnocchi. I bet DH will pick that one anyway because it's gnocchi with mushrooms, two things he loves! @icecubeinthedesert I'm sorry about the cramping, I know that probably feels scary. I think I saw in another thread you said it is relieved by umm, relieving yourself? It may really just be gas. So far this time I've been fine, but the first time around I would get "cramps" that turned out to be gas bubbles. @krashke Do you routinely journal, and if so about what types of things? I've always wanted to but I have never been disciplined enough. @carolina-girl I haven't experienced spotting but it is pretty common. For one thing, your cervix is all filled up with blood right now and can get irritated easily so, if you've dtd that could be the reason. If you are worried, maybe see if you can go in to your dr sooner than your appt or ask if they could do betas? It's hard so early to see much on the u/s but betas can be a good early indicator that things are developing normally.
@Carolina-girl I experienced similar spotting about a week ago. It was brownish when I wiped and the next day it had turned pinkish. But it didn't last more than 24 hours, it was very light (mostly just when I wiped), and it wasn't accompanied by any sharp cramping so I didn't call it in. I figure it was just a side effect of sex or something. I haven't had any spotting since.

@RatParade we haven't had sex since I've been feeling so darn exhausted I've actually had brown spotting almost every day when I first found out 9 days ago and even in the panty liner. then that stopped after 5 days (figured implantation bleeding?) then Saturday morning light red / pink only when wiping and again yesterday morning and a little more red today. only in the mornings and when wiping, nurse says unless it is bright red blood we should wait till my first OB apt. i am so worried bc i am 37 and an "old" FTM. I am super healthy and fit, but i know that doesn't necessarily matter when it comes to MC sigh. I just hope i have a sticky bean.

@Carolina-girl Spotting at anytime is scary, I'm sorry you're going through this If it was me I would probably call the nurse again and see if you can get seen sooner, maybe it's a small infection of some type. I tend to be a worrier so anything I can do to make myself feel better is worth it, and sometimes it's just being seen by a doctor even if there's not much they can do.

@zamora_spin - I POAS twice a day from 10 DPO to 14 DPO, then again on 15 DPO, and just POAS again yesterday at 17 DPO. I have 4? tests left, I think, but I wanted to save them and pass them on. I got them from @notthefather, who used them for her BFP cycle, and I used them for mine, so I'm like.... good luck tests, sisterhood of the travelling OPKs/HCG tests over here..
@izza2 That's so sweet! I support the sisterhood of the traveling tests! If you need to POAS (for peace of mind) cheapies like Wondfo or I tried this other brand, iProven, are good for progression and are easy and quick to get on Amazon. I am hoping soon I don't feel the need to "check" if I'm still pregnant but it's nice to have the option.
@izza2@zamora_spin I peed on like 3-4 a day until 19dpo. Absurd. I have so many left tho! After 12 weeks, I'm going to offer to pass these bad boys along... esp the OPKs! I think I have 50+ left!
@sunshineandwhiskey Ask some TTGP friends if they trust me enough to know their address...? I don't know... lol
@notthefather Just posted on the grad thread (I think) on BOTB that she had extra tests to pass on if anyone wanted them. I felt like I knew her well enough and took the chance.
What are your symptoms? Slightly sore boobs, extreme fatigue but also insomnia, and just starting to get some nausea.
What appointments have you had/do you have coming up? How'd it go? First appointment is 10/23. They told me no US this visit, so hopefully soon after that!

Questions for FTM, or STM+? When is everyone busting out maternity pants?? My pants are already getting tight. I carry my weight in my belly anyways, and I assume this is just bloat, and I historically HATE tight waisted pants.....but man! I want comfy pants!
GTKY: What's for dinner tonight? I made a microwaveable organic shepherd’s pie. Hubs is playing b-ball tonight, so we didn’t make anything.
What are your symptoms? sore boobs and some mild cramping (along with a huge case of window shopping for baby items)

Rants/raves? I never realized how rude it is when the first question people ask when you turn down a drink is "are you pregnant?" So, I am lying my way through these weeks until we can announce.
Questions for FTM, or STM+? When did you announce? Did you have any regrets on announcing too early? When can I actually start shopping for all the baby things?
GTKY: What's for dinner tonight? Good question.... I think we're going out to eat since we did housework all day but I would also be game for some pizza on the couch while watching movies.
@ebeth4056, With DS1 I announced at 12 weeks (which was Halloween that year). With DS2 I never really "announced" as far as Facebook went and I told work and friends around 8 or 9 weeks I think (A bit of a shock for most people since the boys are only 16 months apart).
So far this time (7 weeks in) my parents and in-laws know, my brother and his family, BIL and his family, my BFF and two coworkers. I have my first appointment & ultrasound on Monday so I'll likely be spreading the word more after that. No real plan for a big "Facebook announcement" or anything.
In other words, do what you're comfortable with. And share with people that you know will keep it a secret if you want it kept a secret. We all know there are some people who will post it on Facebook before you have the chance. That would be the only regret I think I would have in telling someone.
First Son - born 2013
Second Son - born 2014 - Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) and Double Outlet Right Ventricle (DORV). First open heart surgery at 5 days old. He's had 3 open heart surgeries and several other procedures and is currently doing amazing. Third Son - due June 9, 2018

4+6
What are your symptoms?
very exhausted, sore breasts, nausea at times but crackers help, brown spotting and had light red blood when i wiped a few times - needless to say i am super scared. nurse said it is ok unless it is more bright red blood. i have my first OB 10/26, so I reckon I'll wait till then and pray everything is alright
What appointments have you had/do you have coming up? How'd it go?
None yet, first on 10/26
Rants/raves?
just down bc of those few times i wiped light red blood in the morning

Do any of you experience spotting?
GTKY: What's for dinner tonight?

What are your symptoms?
Slightly sore boobs, extreme fatigue but also insomnia, and just starting to get some nausea.
What appointments have you had/do you have coming up? How'd it go?
First appointment is 10/23. They told me no US this visit, so hopefully soon after that!
Rants/raves?
I’m getting really intolerant of any stupidity. I have to really bite my tongue at work hahaha. I think I’m just so tired and the hormones are taking over!
What appointments have you had/do you have coming up? November 2nd! Counting the days
