The carpet was cleaned at work over the weekend. For some reason, every time the carpet is cleaned, the office smells like fish for days. You would think cleaning would make it smell better, if anything.
Also I woke up approximately 47289 times last night because I was uncomfortable. Yay.

Bitchfest part: My MIL told me over the weekend that she'll be coming early. She doesn't do/say anything in life without some ulterior need-to-be-in-control motive behind it, and I know she just wants to show how "helpful" she can be. So now I feel like my mom has to come early too, because it's super weird to have my MIL early and not my mom. My Step-MIL, who is the chillest of the bunch, is coming late, and she's the only one who would actually be helpful. I just want to have a happy party without some power-play from the future grandmothers of america club.
MBF: My mom came over to help us with three things this weekend -- help finish painting the one last corner of our master bedroom, build the dresser for the nursery, and put a new coat of paint on the nursery (not on my to-do list, but on hers). Instead of doing the things we wanted/needed done, she started with painting the nursery -- and then ran out of energy and left all of the pieces of the dresser spread out in non-sensical piles across the nursery floor, and told us she probably won't have time to help with anything else because (list of potentially valid reasons). She also used 2/3 of the can of paint that we'd bought for the bedroom, not the nursery, and DH is steaming mad. Then she "rolled out" the paint roller on another wall -- not the nursery, or the bedroom wall that needs painting -- to use up the end of the paint stuck in the nap of the roller. Except that wall is not the same color, so now we have this random grey splotch in the middle of a white wall.
MBF, part 2: My aunt (dad's side) invited herself over in the middle of my mom's visit, so of course my mom let her in without asking us. My aunt started this gigantic shit-show of family drama back in May, and keeps reopening it every couple of months. She wanted to "check in" to "make sure we're okay." I kind of don't have have the emotional capacity to deal with her insecurity right now, given all the stuff DH and I are juggling. And even thought she knows I have GD, she brought a big batch of home-made (well... home-baked, but from store-bought dough) chocolate chip cookies. Because "just one" won't hurt, or something. (Sidebar: She's in freakin AA and we've talked about how I am not a "just one" person when it comes to sweets, so I know she understands this.) DH threw them all away as soon as she left, but the house smelled like wrong-room-paint and forbidden-cookies for the rest of the afternoon because it was too hot to open the windows and clear it out.
DH has, understandably, been SUPER IRRITATED since they left. We spent Sunday building the dresser, and not doing the things we needed to do from our own to-do list. It was 100F yesterday, which didn't help anyone's grumpiness factor. I am so grateful for a work day so everyone can simmer down.

@babybison Your "future grandmothers of america club" comment made me LOL... I totally picture them all getting memberships, going to meetings and scheming ways to drive us completely mental.

So far magnificent Monday for me!
DS slept well, and so did I!
And I just finished picking up vacuuming my entire house... which took over an hour with the combination of mess to be picked up and just the actual size of my house. I realize it is totally a FWP to have too big of house... but we've always lived in tiny houses so even though we've been here for 10 months the size of this house still overwhelms me sometimes! BUT it feels so good to have even the rarely used places tidy and vacuumed!
MM- my daughter slept until 8:30 this morning and it was glorious! We also went to a toddler playtime this morning at a local gymnastics place and she loved it! And when we got home, she played independently enough to allow me to do some cleaning and picking up around the house.
mbf- don’t have one yet, but the day is young.
MM: Ummm.... oh, they finally turned on the heat at work so I'm not freezing to death at my cube anymore! I'll count that as a win for the day!

MBF: It was so hard watching her wake up from the anesthesia. She was so upset. Also, the cold I caught from her is causing a really sore throat. I thought I was getting over it, but yesterday and today it seems to have gotten worse again.
@kyrwyn I cannot fathom "rolling out" the paint on a wall that isn't even the same color. Did she at least apologize? Did she think they were the same color? Did the paint fumes make her high? That is so bizarre. I hope you have some leftover paint in the other color so you can fix it.

MM: I ordered a zit popper/pore cleaning out our for DH and it got here today. I can't wait to use it on him (he has a few huge pores that always get blocked but rarely actually get blackheads so they're nearly impossible to clean out and they are just these nasty dark pores that taunt me with their uncleanliness). I'm so excited lol. Sorry for the TMI all throughout this post
MM: The first interview was surprisingly awesome and I'm hoping my boss agrees so that we can hire this guy and call it a day!
I actually have a MM for a change. I got a full night of rest without the peeing a million times and being uncomfortable!!! My sister and I are gonna go to babies r us this weekend to shop for stuff so i am excited for that!!!
@balletnerd - I have kind of the opposite problem. My mom go the invites out for my shower 6 weeks in advance. And she made the RSVP date the day before she needs to give a headcount to the restaurant (Oct 14... So 5 weeks after she got invites out). She then proceeded to freak out and ask me daily about people's RSVP if they didn't rsvp by October 1st. And like no one RSVPed by the first... Because the invite gave them 2 more weeks!

eta @cait32 tubes made a big difference for my DD. (granted she had to get them twice, she got a nasty ear infection right after and lost one of the tubes within a month, but being able to hear out of one ear was a win and once she got her second set of tubes we have not had any other ear issues... its been amazing and she can hear in both ears!)

@balletnerd I would just ask my friend if she sent the invite, remind her how close the date is and ask her if she wants me to do it.
ETA: I already received the pump so it's sort of whatever at this point, but still.
@balletnerd I also feel a bit of the shower invite pain. My sister and friend are cohosting and the friend is in charge of invites. She isn't doing things like I would (make a spreadsheet, do a mail merge, print on envelopes) which is fine because I know I'm a freak. However, apparently she is addressing the envelopes by hand from my list of names and addresses and maybe got a little rushed. My MIL has texted me about 2 of the family members invitations who were made out to the wrong people. First was DH's uncle by marriage's name with MIL's name instead of her twin's (DH's aunt), second was same aunt and uncle names but mailed to their children. I was a little irked that my friend messed them up but frankly WAY more irked that my MIL continues to notify me of these minor clerical errors. Like, what do you want me to do, berate my friend? You know who is invited, or just ask me, but don't continue to point out errors being made on something I am not supervising. DH even ticked me off bc on the first one he said 'did you send it to friend wrong'? I showed him I didn't (and also maybe growled a little). He then told me to ignore his mother. Sure I can do that but I would much prefer if she would STOP. I just ignored because DH is really the only person I like at all right now that is tolerating me for any reason other than they have to (coworkers).
I guess I see why people think I am breathing fire. Honesty I just want to hibernate for the next few months bc I am even annoying myself.
I have MBF'd enough here. I probably don't need to add anything new, but I will anyway. Our realtor (sellers agent) is annoying me. I just want DH to deal with her so I don't have to, but he is acting like I should do that in addition to the everything else I am doing. I am trying to do more than 100% of the housework right now to get out of talking to people. Why won't he just handle that on our behalf so I don't have to worry about it?

He becomes incredibly irritable and moody, and can go from 0-100 within seconds.
He's been stressed because he just started a new job in a field of employment that is entirely different from what he was doing before. Part of his salary negotiation is that he is taking a lower pay until he is fully trained and licensed, then he will be able to get full pay and full benefits.
So naturally he is trying to get it done as soon as possible. Every single day he has been gone at work, come home, say hi for 5 minutes, then to our bedroom with the laptop doing online training until going to sleep around 11-midnight.. and only coming out to use the bathroom.
I feel like I've been super understanding of this and doing everything I can to help, bringing his meals to him, taking over ALL household duties, etc without complaint.
But man oh man, I cannot wait for this to be over... not for me, but so he can stop being such a God damn jerk.
