31 weeks with di/di b/g twins the size of asparagus.
How are you feeling?
Heartburn, uncomfortable to get up, tired and still nauseous even though I still take Diclegis.
What's going on this week?
I'm now strictly seeing the MFM for the rest of the pregnancy since baby girl is too small and they want ultrasounds twice a week to make sure she's getting everything they need. We may have to deliver them early so as a precaution, they have given me the steroid shots to quickly develop the babies' lungs.
Rants/Raves/Questions:
Rants: I want the babies to stay comfy in there until at least 34 or 35 weeks. Rave: I'm so glad my constant peeing only lasted a few days. I was about to crazy from the lack of sleep getting up every 20-30 minutes at night to pee. Now it's back to about once every 2-3 hours.
GTKY: Of all the baby things you have, what are you most excited to use, and why? That's a hard question! Probably the hand knitted sweaters my friend made because they're so cute.
Thanks for starting this @Kirss @clovelyone I hope those little ones stay put a while longer!
How far along are you? How big is baby?
31 weeks - The Bump says he's as big as asparagus but their comparisons don't seem to make much sense to me anymore. He was a cucumber last week - I am pretty sure asparagus is smaller...
How are you feeling?
Not too bad. Definitely slowing down a lot. I tipped right over crouching down to get something from a bottom drawer yesterday lol...
What's going on this week?
Preparing to move, writing shower thank you cards, nothing particularly noteworthy.
Rants/Raves/Questions:
Rant: I can't wait for this move to be over and our house to be ready! We move at the end of the month and probably won't have a working kitchen for another week or two afterwards, which gives me major anxiety, on top of the fact that other than getting most of the actual material items we need, nothing is done for the baby (and we can't really get started until we move). Rave: On a little getaway with H right now, and although we go back home to work on the house in a few hours it's been a really nice and relaxing trip!
GTKY: Of all the baby things you have, what are you most excited to use, and why? This is a really hard question! I might be most excited to see H wearing him in the ergobaby carrier, mainly because H is so excited about it. Otherwise, maybe the Halo Bassinet because it just seems so convenient!
Trying to finish unpacking this house. We still have boxes that are full. Which we probably shouldn't even own, since we haven't even needed them.
Rants/Raves/Questions:
I'm happy because DH's work approved his plan for paternity leave. He will have a month off completely and then they are allowing him to work only 2 days a week in the office, and work from home part time the rest. His commute is basically an hour each day so it will be awesome.
GTKY: Of all the baby things you have, what are you most excited to use, and why?
IDK, I still don't have a lot of baby stuff really. Haven't had a shower yet and I'm not trying to spend all my money before that. My SIL did give me her a baby jogger city mini stroller that seems pretty awesome, so maybe that.
31 years young from Seattle(ish) 5 years married FTM and PGAL EDD is 12/23/17 -- It's a BOY! ---
@clovelyone still keeping FX that babygirl stays put and gets bigger! Do those steroid shots hurt? @Piccola1988 heres hoping your move goes smoothly and the kitchen is up and running fast. It effing sucks not having one when you move in somewhere. I’m living it now and my life is HELL. Also, yeah, asparagus is definitely smaller than a cucumber. Right now I’m a pineapple, and I know asparagus is shorter than that. Dumb. @moonlady-2 score on the stroller! God is everyone moving?! Have fun unpacking the rest of those boxes. Don’t be afraid to throw shit away! I love getting rid of stuff I don’t use!
How far along are you? How big is baby? 29 weeks! Babies are the size of a barbie convertible
How are you feeling? Huge. But ok. It’s really annoying having to pee literally every 10 minutes, but oh well. Comes with the territory, I guess.
What's going on this week? We’ve got our first parenting twins class Tuesday. Next week is the breastfeeding twins. These babies are so close to being here and it’s FREAKING me out.
Rants/Raves/Questions: My stupid kitchen remodel will be done by this next Friday. Only 6 more days of this hell and then I can unpack and relax. That’s really the only thing on my mind right now. Raves are that these girls are kicking up a storm! My husband was talking to them the other night while lying on my stomach and baby B kicked him right in the head. Love it.
GTKY: Of all the baby things you have, what are you most excited to use, and why? We actually don’t have many things yet since my showers aren’t until Oct 22 and Oct 28. So far, my glider is kicking ass. I love to go into the girls room and just sit and chill. It’s basically the only room in this house that hasn’t devolved into complete construction chaos.
@clovelyone I hope baby girl gets bigger, so she can stay put a little while longer!
How far along are you? How big is baby?
30 wks, cantaloupe.
How are you feeling?
Always sleepy, it's getting harder to relax since I'm always moving/uncomfortable.
What's going on this week?
Niece's birthday and party. Nothing to crazy. Possibly touring a hospital, but by the time I get home, I want to stay home.
Rants/Raves/Questions:
Rants: I thought I'd like DH's new schedule, it worked so well for us last time, but now he's missing all the fun stuff Hopefully they change him back to his regular schedule soon. Rave: I'm starting to decorate for Halloween, found some easy projects on Pinterest I'm looking forward to seeing how easy they say they are. Another my almost 5 year old still takes naps, so I can take naps on the weekends too
GTKY: Of all the baby things you have, what are you most excited to use, and why? Probably the new rock and play I bought, it vibrates or rocks by itself, last time we had the low rent model, which worked great but I'm excited to see if this guy likes the RnP as much as DD did.
@clovelyone I'm glad you're finally getting a little more sleep! Also, glad that they'll be monitoring you so closely to make sure your baby girl is doing okay. I'm sending her big strong positive growth vibes! @Piccola1988 I'm glad you had a nice little getaway and my DH is also excited to use the carrier, it's cute. @moonlady-2 That's awesome about your husband's paternity leave! I'm a little jealous! @breezybee Enjoy your classes! If you learn any good tips, especially about the twin breastfeeding, can you please share them? @kirss Weekend naps are the best! I'm thinking of taking one after I finish this post!
How far along are you? How big is baby?
30 weeks! Di/di boy/girl twins. Ovia says motorcycle helmet, but those things are huge! I'll stick with platypuses.
How are you feeling?
Like I'm 30 weeks pregnant with twins lol... large and uncomfortable a good deal of the time. Lots of back pain, stomach discomfort, and reflux. I could definitely have it worse though, so I can't complain too much.
What's going on this week?
OB appt tomorrow, DH's b-day Tuesday, growth scan at the MFM Wednesday, DH's fancy b-day dinner on Saturday! Busy week for sure!
Rants/Raves/Questions:
Rave: Went to visit my judo teachers yesterday, since I'm obviously taking a break, and they were so excited to see me. I can't wait for my LOs to do judo with me once they're a little older!
No real rants or questions I can think of right now.
GTKY: Of all the baby things you have, what are you most excited to use, and why? All the adorable clothes and the cute little hooded animal towels we registered for!
How are you feeling? just uncomfortable from belly weight, nothing too bad
What's going on this week?
Baby Shower tomorrow & birth center tour on Thursday!
Rants/Raves/Questions: ultrasound vs pic of me as an infant makes me smile!
GTKY: Of all the baby things you have, what are you most excited to use, and why? the baby buggy...I think it represents a bit of freedom & fresh air if I can get out with the baby and dog.
Thanks, ladies! I really appreciate all of the support and positive vibes.
@Piccola1988 I'm over The Bump's comparisons too. Asparagus, really?
@moonlady-2 That's great news about your DH's paternity leave!
@breezybee The steroid shots were in the butt with a total of two shots over two days (one in each cheek). It didn't bother me at all. I also got the TDAP shot in my arm. It didn't hurt at all the first day, but it's a little tender now. Gosh, I feel bad I haven't signed up for any classes. I did attend a third trimester class that they kind of automatically sign you up for. It was pretty worthless though.
@Kirss Hopefully they'll change his schedule soon.
@leilagphillips You've definitely got a busy week ahead. That's pretty cool that you know judo and will teach your kids.
How far along are you? How big is baby? 32w (+2d), pomelo according to Ovia
How are you feeling? Aside from getting tired easily and peeing all the damn time, not bad
What's going on this week? Dr's appointment tomorrow and going to a wedding upstate this weekend. Excited to see the fall foliage!
Rants/Raves/Questions: Rave: We attended a childbirth intensive course this past weekend and it was awesome. I feel like I have the right tools to prepare for birth and that makes it (a teeny bit) less scary.
GTKY: Of all the baby things you have, what are you most excited to use, and why? I'm most excited to use the solly wrap- it looks so cozy to have a newborn snuggled in close.
I would be going insane if I was moving right now - I feel for all of you! My mom is making fun of me for doing so much "nesting" already. I can't help it, I like getting things done in advance in all areas of life. If it weren't for my husband's guidance, I would be early to every party.
How far along are you? How big is baby?
I just had an ultrasound yesterday, and they said she is 3 lb, 5 oz. I am just over 29 weeks.
How are you feeling?
This is still my fav month so far. Feeling really good, and able to take nice evening walks. My stomach does feel pretty tight if I walk fast, as though my uterus is contracting as I walk, but I guess that's okay? I hate the idea of NOT doing any exercise, and walking seems like it should be safe, so I'm going ahead with it.
What's going on this week?
The usual...work...baby-related distractions...I was recommended as a project coordinator for a new grant, based on my work on a prior project, so that was exciting. This weekend my in-laws are all going to a rented house to hang out and do fall-related things (campfires, hiking, baking, board games together, etc.). I am pretty excited about it, and I am in charge of baking muffins in advance and doing some other cooking when we get there. Always nice to see my in-laws, they are a fun group.
Rants/Raves/Questions:
Rants: Still anemic...working on diet changes to supplement iron. Not too big of a deal. And I'm just starting to have to pay hospital bills from when I had the issue with a fibroid a couple months ago. Hopefully my bank account recovers a bit before we have to start paying labor and delivery bills in a few months. I shouldn't complain too much, since we are financially in good shape. Raves: Husband seems to be in a better mood the past couple of days (I even got a cuddle this morning...in general he has wanted nothing to do with affection lately!), and we are finally making good progress on our master bathroom renovation, which is mostly DIY. I painted an existing cabinet that goes over the toilet, and got new knobs for it at World Market, and it is SUPER cute.
GTKY: Of all the baby things you have, what are you most excited to use, and why? All of it....do I have to pick? I just ordered 4 more things off our registry, because I can now get a registry discount. When those arrive later this week, I will set up the new nursery closet shelves. Yay!
33 weeks and apparently the size of a bunch of celery.
How are you feeling?
I've been mostly ok lately. My latest greatest symptom is pain in my feet where (I suspect -never confirmed) I had gotten some small fractures running in bad shoes a few years ago. It's making it hard to walk around barefoot. Other than that, just the standard acid reflux, too hot all the time, etc. Nothing catastrophic.
What's going on this week?
Had an appointment today and got my TDaP. DH is having surgery tomorrow. Shouldn't be too horrible but he's anticipated to have about a week-long recovery. On the bright side, the kitchen is USEABLE! I've waited so long for this day! We did siding yesterday around the resized window and finished the hood vents today. There's still a ton of trim work left, but we can cook again!
Rants/Raves/Questions:
Rave: Kitchen! Rant: MIL will be coming down Thursday night to stay with DH Friday when I'm back at work. She's a nice lady and means really well, but can be frustrating at times. I'm going to have to get the kitchen completely cleaned before she gets here or else she'll try to help and end up driving me nuts. I know that in the grand scheme of MIL drama, that's relatively minor, but still I really don't need one more thing right now...
GTKY: Of all the baby things you have, what are you most excited to use, and why? I still don't have much baby stuff, although we just received a Moby wrap as an early shower gift. I'm really looking forward to trying that for some reason.
33 weeks, the size of celery apparently, which I agree seems a strange comparison.
How are you feeling?
Pretty good. Definitely tired and slowing down, but all things considered I'm doing pretty well. Hips are still a bit sore, and I'm getting out of breath way easier. I have a short torso, so I just feel pretty full already!
What's going on this week?
Busy work week, with one last road trip for work to teach a class out on the Eastern shore about 2 hours away. I still need to decide if I'll drive back that evening or get a hotel room. We have our 2nd childbirth class Tuesday evening, I think with the tour of the hospital. Friday after work we are meeting with our doula! Oh, and this Saturday is one of my favorite Baltimore events of the year- the Great Halloween Lantern Parade down in Patterson Park. It's really magical. I'll be working on my costume tonight, which is spider woman, who is pregnant in the latest Marvel comics version.
Rants/Raves/Questions:
Just grateful for my lovely SO and all of her support these days.
GTKY: Of all the baby things you have, what are you most excited to use, and why? I already love our glider. We have some beautiful handknit and crocheted gifts already, including a unicorn outfit from my SIL. Can't wait to dress the baby in that, it's so adorable, white with a rainbow main and white diaper cover with a rainbow tail. Definitely not a practical December outfit, but it's going to be so cute.
