WTF to my body... I was lazily chasing DS around the yard, then got hit by a sudden wave of nausea... I thought I was going to lose my breakfast in the middle of my backyard! Sat down and it improved enough to stand without feeling like I was going to immediately hurl... now sipping gingerale hoping it passes because I have to work at 3... That or we got something because DH was sick this morning too. Ugh. DS doesn't seem bothered though.
at my 32w appt this morning, my OB casually drops a bomb on my head. "oh, by the way, we want you to deliver between 38 to 38.5 weeks because of your lovenox regimen and previous history."
guys. this is THANKSGIVING WEEK. i'd already be a spaz because it is earlier than i had planned but COME ON.
my OB has a heart of stone. my pleas fell on deaf ears.
to boot? by the time i got home, i had a phone call from the surgery scheduler. she had already spoken to the hospital and they had assigned me a date and time, non-negotiable.

WINNING: Took today off work. Mainly because I have the time to burn but also because I barely slept last night. Got DS off to daycare/pre-k this morning and I just woke up a few mins ago from a glorious nap.
@babybison lol!! for real! i can just envision how that call went. cue eye roll.
@failuretofly blehhh. my nausea has come back (first thing in the morning and right before bed only, so far) and it always catches me by surprise. brushing my teeth has been a nightmare this past week. i'm reallllly hoping that's all it will progress too, because last time i couldn't eat a damn thing from 36-40 weeks. like, nothing. i was SO HUNGRY. great for weight gain but terrible for everything else.
Met: September 2005Married: October 2008 DS: 09/2014
@anewadventure love love love that video. That is vintage internet, pre youtube.... also "I am le tired" is my mantra right now... I'm sorry you're freaking out about the bomb Dr. dropped on you.... I cant imagine the shock... especially without any sort of warning.... Grrrrr. Once that wears off hopefully it'll help to have a date set for planning everything out.... AFM My WTF is DH not planning ahead enough when we did a bunch of home improvement stuff all at once... now he's freaking out about $ and it's stressing me out.... The good thing is that everything is done, but still. Winning= the weather cooling off a bit and I'm wearing leggings and boots today!!! woo!!! Too bad I'll be at my desk all day, but at least I'm comfy!
WTF: Went to BRU to take advantage of the diaper/gift card promo. Surprisingly, they still had plenty of diapers in stock, and they even took my $2 off coupon. The girl hands me the promotional gift card and it expires IN TWO WEEKS. The exchange went like this:
Cashier: You get a promotional gift card, it expires in a February. Me: For $30? C: Yes. Me: This says it expires October 28th. C: *looks at it* Huh. *takes another one off the stack* These say February. Me: *blank stare* C: Guess I should start giving out the February ones. Me: *continued blank stare* C: Haha! Have a nice day! Me: Ooooookay. Thank you.
@anewadventure I hope everything works out too! You'll be totally prepared, no worries. I was a Thanksgiving baby too (the actual day that year) and from your LO's POV, it's really the best time to have a birthday. No one is stressed out about holidays, everyone is cooking good food, you get to celebrate at school but then you also get a few days off of school basically the same/next week. Oh and all the best movies come out that week! Win-win for him.
@anewadventure Ahhh I'm sorry about the anxiety of that bomb being dropped on you out of nowhere!
@elcd458 Wait...did she at least swap out your October gift card for a February one?! Or was she like, "Oh, I'll start giving out the right ones with the next customer"?
@anewadventure This is basically what I'm afraid of every time I see my OB, since he evades every time I ask whether he thinks we'll need to deliver earlier due to the GD + insulin... I would freak the f*** out, too. I am trying to mentally prepare myself for any possible day after our 36wk growth scan.
Wonderful: Work is throwing me a baby shower this afternoon and I am so excited. I was not this excited about my family-thrown shower. Plus, it's always good to be the reason your coworkers get to drink beer at work on the company's dime.
yeah, it took my type-A planner brain by surprise. it wouldn't be THAT big a deal except it blows up thanksgiving for my family. it's a big holiday at my parents' house and now they will have to travel up to my state instead of hosting a whole lot of people that already have travel plans. i feel terrible.
i also am a bit of a spaz about delivering the baby at 38w 1d ... i want him to cook as long as possible
on top of that, it totally throws off my deadline schedule at work. i know that was always just a guess but YIKES!! my boss is going to freak out.
let's ignore the fact that my to-do list is a mile long...guess we have impetus now! it's getting real!
oh. and all you ladies that work in hospitals....please tell me you can calm my fears about the staffing during the holiday week and weekend? i'm going to be there tuesday afternoon through probably saturday morning, over thanksgiving holiday. i can't help imagining this skeleton staff of the most junior people in every department. it's not filling me with a lot of fuzzy, warm feelings.
Met: September 2005Married: October 2008 DS: 09/2014
@anewadventure Your family will deal. (I say this, because my family will also deal if the same happens to us, and I need to reinforce that for me, too. Feel free to remind me repeatedly that I typed this.) Babies don't really care about anyone's schedules or travel plans -- and apparently neither do OBs! You've totally got this! You'll get work stuff nailed down, and you'll do the important shit only from your to-do list, and then you'll get to meet your tiny human! And maybe someone will sneak you in some pie once you're cleared for more than clear liquids and jello!
@anewadventure I don't think you have to worry too hard about getting the "B Team" over Thanksgiving. A lot of times the more senior staff prefer to work Thanksgiving so they can be off at Christmas instead. It won't be skeleton crew, since they have to maintain a minimum # of staff for safety reasons. There's always that one asshole that is magically "sick" every holiday they didn't get granted PTO, but that would be way more likely in December than November.
@MJDsquared Precisely. She may have thrown in a "whoops, sorry" but I didn't put up too much of a fight. Was trying to let her come up with the idea on her own... she did not. Oh well. I can definitely find a way to spend it before then, it just sucks when people are dense.
@babybison DH likes to turn the heated seat on when I'm not paying attention because it tends to make me freak out and think I peed on myself. Thanks, funny guy.
@anewadventure oy it would freak me out to lose 2 weeks! The silver lining is that you have a definite date to work towards, which helps with planning...! Hope everything goes well!
My WTF today is my damn boobs and my inability to find a bra that will fit them. I keep buying and returning ones that are slightly too small. My brain cannot wrap itself around the rate that these things have been growing!!
also, all my fingers and toes crossed that i have the dubious honor of being "first," besides our moms of multiples. just curious, anyone else have a scheduled RCS date already, or induction? it's a bit early, i know.
ALL YOU BABIES BETTER KEEP COOKING. WAIT FOR THE MONTH OF CHRISTMAS COOKIES.
Met: September 2005Married: October 2008 DS: 09/2014
WTF: I know this is totally selfish but I don't think I'm having a shower at work, or if I am, it's going to be a rushed, last-minute, scrambled together thing. I feel lame to care this much but I'm mostly feeling annoyed because I do a TON for my boss who is a high-level exec. I'm her assistant and I don't have confidence that she can plan something like this on her own. In the past, when someone in our dept is pregnant, she has me do all the planning and coordinating, so who will do it for me? And for those showers, they have been for 2nd and even 3rd time moms, and they've all been for women in the dept who are high up. So of course I'm feeling slighted because I'm an admin. I know it's not a big deal if I don't have one, and should be grateful if I do, but I am annoyed by the hierarchy.
WW: 6 more weeks until maternity leave, and ICYMI, I'm also leaving my current position and boss (from above) and moving on to replace someone who is retiring. I'll start when I return from leave. It's a better job, better boss, better pay, etc. I had a little free time this afternoon so I went to town on my desk and threw out a ton of stuff and even started boxing some stuff up, since I want all of that done before I go. Felt good!

@peachy13 I stay home with DD now, but worked up until right before I had her. I worked for a small office (about 10 employees that came in, 45 who worked in the field). I was assistant to the president, assistant to the estimator, and ran the entire office. No shower for me, because I was the one who always did things for birthdays and anniversaries. Plus, I was the only woman in the office, and the guys were kinda clueless. But still, it would have been nice.
AFM, WTF DD. She is into everythinggggg today. I have a plate rack on a wall and it's about 5 feet off the ground. She somehow managed to almost pull it off the wall?!? She won't stop climbing and keeps wanting to go outside. until I take her outside, then she cries to come back in. She managed to crush crackers all over the carpet and then had a tantrum because I vacuumed it up. So now we are trying for nap #2 because omg child chill out.
WTF all day nausea today. I went to days straight where I didn't throw up and felt pretty good (only had consecutive days one other time this pregnancy) and then this morning I woke up feeling like poo. It doesn't help that I was up until 3am last night with terrible heartburn.
@Skcobb I watched a toddler pull the giant decorative canvas artwork of the Jersey Shore off the wall at Jersey Mike's the other day. Somewhere out there DD has good company! Ha!
@GraysonsMama Girl, where you been?? Sorry you're not feeling well. Sending you mental Tums.
WW--- I mangled to take a shower without hurting or being lightheaded afterward. I also found a great pillow combo on the bed so i can sleep at night!!! Yay
WTF: I was told at my 30 week appointment that starting at 32 weeks, I will be going for a NST and growth scan or AFI every week until birth, even though I have had a picture perfect pregnancy on paper so far...
@anewadventure my RCS is officially scheduled for week 39 on 12/7 at 2:30 pm but my OB told me depending on my GD and LOs growth, that we may do it at 38 weeks which would be 11/30.
@elvenchick92686 it is because of my BMI, but it hasn't been discussed very well through out the pregnancy... and because I see a different Dr. every visit, I feel like the plan is constantly changing
This guy I went to high school with started working as a car salesman and just constantly posts things like, "Who needs a 2012 4Runner?!" on Facebook all the time. Seriously? I'm sure posting on Facebook to your circle of friends (even if you have like 2,000) is going to get you toooons of sales. Yep. That'll do it.
@kdestito i said the same thing about my last appointment when i saw a newer doctor at the office!!! We were gonna start at 34 but it was moved up cause of my bp issues. I am going to be requesting the three doctors i do trust for the remainder of this pregnancy so the plan doesn't change. So annoying!!!
@anewadventure you have me beat. I’m scheduled for a c-section on 11/24 at 38 weeks with twins. Obviously things can change between now and then, but I’m hoping the babies stay put until then.

ETA: WTF Weds is that I think DD has given me yet another cold. SO MANY COLDS this pregnancy. UGH. Plus she is not sleeping well due to her own cold, so I am not sleeping well either. sigh
Married May 2014 DD born August 2016 Baby #2 due December 2017
@kdestito I started weekly ultrasounds at the hospital last week (which is farther away than my doctor and a pain in the ass to park), plus I’m going to my regular OB every other week so I feel you. Starting at 36 weeks I’m going 2x a week to the hospital and once a week to my OB. Good thing my job is flexible!
My WW is as of today my placenta has moved far enough from my previous csection scar that the doctors no longer think it will be an issue
I know it’s not Wednesday anymore but wtf to my 2 year old for pooping in the tub! And my DH isn’t home until tomorrow so looks like I’ll be scrubbing the tub tonight.
I know its Thursday but wtf to my SO for trying to have an attitude at me. He does not want to come to the baby shower his mom is throwing but his mom wants to convince him to come and he gets an attitude with me cause i warn him she is calling tomorrow to do just that. Like dude, i was just trying to warn you thats it!!! Lol
@anewadventure wow! I'm also type A so I get what you're feeling but awesome to have the date set! My dr is talking 38 weeks too but if that happens, i would still be beginning of December.
I have a WTF today! Sonogram lady is really judgy and presumptive. First sonogram she asked how many previous pregnancies and how much the baby weighed. I told her 9lb 8 oz and she automatically asked if I had gestational diabetes. Today at my 32 week scan she goes "is your sugar been okay?" I said "baby is measuring big right?". She said yes. To which I replied "no I don't have GD, I just have big babies!" This one is measuring at 5 1/2 lb. he'll be almost as big as his big bro. I know there is nothing wrong with having GS, it just bugs me because she starts sounding judgy!
@casace i would have smacked her!!!! Mine was all reassuring when i thought mine was big and i have gd. I would've let the doctor know she was judgey soubdibg as well. Meanie head!!!
I have a WTF. I have a sneaking suspicion that the barista at Starbucks accidentally gave me a regular iced americano instead of my decaf today my heart is racing and I have a headache. I only drank half but wtf! Ugh. A few days ago I asked for a decaf and just as I was about to take a sip, he looks at my belly and says wait, I forgot to make it decaf! Ugh. No more Starbucks for me!
WTF to my stupid dog... After I let him in from the backyard I realized his back end was COVERED IN SHIT! HE ROLLED IN HIS OWN SHIT! We pick it up daily, because toddler, so he must have pooped there today, then rolled in it! What. The. Actual. Fuck. So stupid.
Re: WTF / Winning Wednesday 10-11-17
