R/R: It's Friday!!! I had some long days this week so I am going to try to cut out early, but I also have a ton to do so we will see what happens! No plans tonight so excited to just hang out and relax.
*TW: pregnancy - my sister is having a small gender/sex reveal party tomorrow (just for them and our family). I am so thrilled for her and excited.  It's just also hard when I started trying before her (just a month, but still) and she's already halfway through her pregnancy. I also had a weird dream last night that my mom un-invited me to the party given my "situation" because she thought it would be too hard for me. /TW

    CS/Q: nope

GTKY: (Stolen from TTCAL) You have guests coming over for dinner in an hour, what do you make?

If they were coming with no notice I would probably order pizza and frantically clean my house
;) if I knew people were coming I'd either do roast in the crock pot (obviously takes more than an hour but super easy), burgers on the grill, sloppy Joe's, or chili. Just depends on my mood, weather, and who's coming.

WAYDTGKU: all the things + RE appt next Tuesday

R/R: Once again, I'm not prepped for my classes today. Whoops! I also have to write a narrative evaluation of myself for my two-year review, which I've barely started, and it's due Monday. Sigh. I know what I'll be doing this weekend! On the positive side, having lunch yesterday with my friend who struggled with IF was so great! It's  helpful to hear her story, and just to have someone around at work that I can ask questions about all of this.

CS/Q: How severe are your cramps during AF? Do you need to take a painkiller? If so, how much do you take in a day, and for how many days?

GTKY: (Stolen from TTCAL) You have guests coming over for dinner in an hour, what do you make? Hmm... probably a stir fry of some kind. It's quick and easy.
  • @darkstar42  I sometimes take ibuprofen for my cramps. I usually take 2 every 6 hours or so if needed. I get cramps in my back too which always seems way worse. Usually only 1-3 days that I need to take anything. Are you dealing with severe cramps?

  • @MrsMiller8588 Thanks! When my friend was dealing with IF, she found out she had severe endometriosis, and she'd had no idea. Her only symptom was bad cramps, but she didn't know that her cramps were worse than anyone else's. I do get fairly painful cramps, but I have no sense of how bad they are. From what you describe, my cramps are similar to yours in intensity, except I rarely feel the pain in my back.
  • @darkstar42 I actually have a fear that I have endometriosis just because of my cramps combined with spotting and heavy periods. But since we know MFI is the main issue right now I just try not to think about it. Plus none of my pain is (usually) ever debilitating. It seemed worse in high school/college when I would frequently miss class because of it. How do they diagnose endo?
did you add it to your list of RE questions?

Aso my cramps are not as bad as @SkilledSailor described. So glad you got your RE consult scheduled so soon! I'm still in shock about yHs old lab and the chemicals... I had a ton of lab classes in college and never thought twice about anything I was working with..

  • @mrsmiller8588 They usually do a laparoscopy to diagnose endo. It's something I believe you need to request, otherwise they just assume you have it based off symptoms.  And yes, I am so excited to be able to speak with an RE about all our concerns so soon.
  • @SkilledSailor okay that's kinda what I thought so I'm gonna go back to not worrying about it unless there are other signs that point to it. With DH diagnosis we most likely need IVF anyway so I will cross that bridge later

    R/R: Happy Friday Ladies !! :)

    CS/Q:nope

GTKY: (Stolen from TTCAL) You have guests coming over for dinner in an hour, what do you make?  Some kind of Pasta.
  • Thanks @MrsMiller8588! Unfortunately no there's nothing to be done about lefty. Just gotta hope Righty performs double duty...which hopefully Clomid will help. :)

@emmasemm Yay for an awesome RE, a day off, and a trip to China!!! :-D Also I'm super impressed that your DH can prepare a fancy-sounding meal like that on short notice!! That's awesome you have your own live-in chef ;)
  • @emmasemm I’m trying to reduce sugar as well, do you aim for a certain amount in a day? I was doing really well in the beginning of the year cutting out dairy and sugar to see if it helped with my fibroids, but then I ended up having them removed and completely fell off the bandwagon.

Glad you had a good appointment and hope you have a great trip!
  • @MrsMiller8588 Oh no! My dog has done that before too. A few times. Ugh, its a good thing they are cute! He has since grown out of that stage, or at least hasn't done it for over a year now.

@sapphire86 That is great that you didn't get side effects from the Clomid. FX that this is your cycle! So exciting!

@canuckleheard123 Sounds frustrating. This is why sometimes it is just easier to do it yourself the first time. Sigh....treat yourself, it is Friday!

@emmasemm Oh you are going to have such an awesome trip! Super jealous. I read your RE info, sounds like you had a really great appointment and so glad that you are feeling comfortable moving forward.

@mrs_drc_rn Sorry you are feeling blah. I usually feel like that on Sundays too. But sounds like you are doing the right things, cookies and TV, enjoy it!

@emmasemm @mrs_drc_rn new boots in spoiler. A little pricier than I would normally spend, but man I love them! And I justified it by selling off a couple old pairs at a consignment store. I have already gotten several compliments on them today already.  :)

  • @nitnat007 I love those! I have a similar pair but since I’m super short I had to get mine in the young girls section.

WAYDTGKU: Letrozole, LH testing, ultrasound & trigger if necessary, IUI, progesterone suppositories if needed

R/R: I THINK we are at CD1 -- suuuper light right now, holding off calling the RE until the morning to confirm. This is a rant and a rave as I just stopped progesterone on Wed (so yay for not having to wait for a week for a period) but boooo because last month's IUI didn't work.

    CS/Q: I suck at temping...

GTKY: (Stolen from TTCAL) You have guests coming over for dinner in an hour, what do you make? Uhh...pizza rolls? We need to go grocery shopping.

    WAYDTGKU: "lets get it on..."

R/R: Rant - AF woes. And if I get KU before March, MH will for sure miss delivery (and I won't put my life on hold for the Air Force), so that's something in the back of my mind. Rave - My grandma is finally done with her radiation for skin cancer and they are going to stay at our house on their way home to SD from TX. I haven't seen her since before she went to TX for treatment in June, so I'm excited to see them. I am a bit nervous because she still has the majority of her cheek and nose missing, and I know that the sight can be shocking.

    CS/Q: Nothing exciting to see...

GTKY: (Stolen from TTCAL) You have guests coming over for dinner in an hour, what do you make?
(Using same answer from TTCAL) Depends on season.
    Spring/Summer: Grilled Steaks with asparagus
    Fall/Winter: White chicken chili

@darkstar42 my AF cramps have me full fetal around a heating pad for the first 2 days (I was on BC as a teen to control them). I normally take 800 mg ibuprofen every 8 hours during those 2 days (maxing out the daily dose) then once during the remaining 3 days. I then try and avoid ibuprofen for the rest of the month to spare my kidneys and liver. I have had to take Vicodin occasionally if the pain is that bad. I have been told that I have "suspected endo" but the only way to definitively diagnose it is laparoscopic surgery, and no doctor I've seen have wanted to do ex-lap, no matter how much I've pushed. They normally start with an US and they find a cyst or mass (I've had 2 sizable, pain causing ones in 6 months) and they stop looking any further, chalking up all my symptoms to the cyst. I have to wait for it the go down, then start the process all over again.

  • Guys, I’m so sorry to p & g today! I had a busy teaching day, but I’m done now. Taking a bit of a break, then I’m going to drag MH to the gym. We haven’t gone at all yet this week. Oops!

@MrsMiller8588 Frantic cleaning happens at our house any time we have guests as well! I did add endo to my list of things to talk to the RE about. I never thought I had it, but now I’m a bit worried! Like you, I think my cramps used to be worse than they are now.

@SkilledSailor Yay for the RE consult! How is the paperwork coming? :) Your cramps sound intense! I’m just trying to get a better sense of what ladies on here experience, in terms of cramps. I’ve realized that I actually have no idea what “normal” is, when it comes to AF symptoms!

@nitnat007 Yay for your new boots! Those are so cute. I have similar ones, but with a tiny bit of a heel.

@sapphire86 So glad you had no major side effects on Clomid! Fx for righty!

@canucklehead123 Welcome back! I hear you on a needing a break from the ttc regime for a few days.

@emmasemm I read your update on the IF thread, and I want to thank you for sharing so much information! It’s incredibly helpful as I get ready for my RE consult. That’s so exciting that you and YH are heading to China! Is this for work, or just vacation? In previous months I’d been taking ibuprofen for cramps, but this month decided to switch to Tylenol, as I also had concerns about ibuprofen and ttc.

    @Stargazer1lily Happy Friday!

@mrs_drc_rn If you don’t mind me asking, how were your fibroids diagnosed? My mom had extensive fibroids, and I have no idea whether or not I do. Yay for making it to the gym this morning!

@luckypandas I’m so sorry to see you back here! I was so hopeful for your iui. *hugs*

@MrsBunz I hope the visit with your grandparents goes well and your grandma recovers quickly! Your experiences with doctors sound incredibly frustrating! Have you seen an RE to see if they would do the surgery? Also, this is the first time I’ve seen your siggy gif, and I love it. :)

  • @darkstar42 I had an ultrasound after I started having heavy periods out of nowhere.
  • @darkstar42 I have not seen an RE. We have military insurance, and while it's great in terms of coverage (I have no co pay or deductible), getting into see a specialist is super hard. I have to TTC for 1 yr without success before they'll even think about a referral to RE. I'm only 4 months into my year because TW my early MC in March restarted my "year" and they take out the time MH was deployed (March-July).
