Saw this didnt get started yet. Throw em out ladies!

1. Myself for not knowing how to gif mobile. I know there are instructions but I havent actually taken the time to look.

2. My sons daycare informed me this morning about a case of Rubella. He has all his vaccines, but thats something I would like to know ahead of time rather than finding out while walking down the hallway to check him in. Maybe I'm overreacting. I just like to know things so I can make an informed decision, in this case whether I wanted him to go or arrange a sitter while Im at work.

Re: Twatwaffle Tuesday

  • My doctor for loading the results of my beta test to my online portal over 24 hours ago and not having called me yet to follow up/ schedule anything going forward.

And the receptionist at her office (because I called) implying that me expecting a call from my doctor after labs is unreasonable since I don’t have questions about the results. Ok? So your office knows I am pregnant but that’s it? No follow up to schedule any appointments or anything? Yep... seems unreasonable to me to want to know what the next steps are (especially with my history). Ugh.

    1) to gif on mobile; save the gif from Giphy or google to you photos and then click the attach image (the square with the mountains and sun) and choose your gif from your photo library. You can also copy the gif link (just make sure it has .gif at the end if the url) and paste it into the url spot.

    2) that totally sucks! You would think they have a procedure in place for notifying parents before they come to drop off. Like an email or text system the night before or morning.

My TW is the OB, well really the scheduler. I called to schedule my first appointments and got one for 9wks with the NP and 13wks with the OB. I asked if there will be an ultrasound at either and she said not unless the dr thinks there needs to be one. I just feel like it's not going to feel real if I haven't had any appointments or any confirmation other than POAS until 9wks. I knew this, its not like its a surprise but I just don't like it.

  • @tepr14 wow! I can’t believe that information wasn’t conveyed sooner! I imagine a lot of parents were upset!

@BurlapandLace how dare you want to discuss your lab results, haha!!! Geez! Sorry you have to deal with that. Hopefully they are better with the follow up in the future! Were your results good?

My dog! She is spay incontinant and has had 9 accidents in the last 4 days... I’m over it.

  • @emjeve ~ My results were fantastic. But me knowing that is no thanks to my doctor. She literally just loaded the results of the beta draws. Literally just two different numbers (1349 @16do and 3834 @18dpo). Luckily I know those are great numbers, with a little reassurance from this group and Dr. Google. But I find it really odd she would just load lab results like that and not call to explain what the numbers mean (luckily I know, but that’s not the point) and advise your patient what the next steps are/get things scheduled.

@krashke ~ um that would drive me nuts. Especially because I’m pretty sure a NP wouldn’t do an ultrasound, so you are potentially looking at not seeing anything until 13 weeks with the OB. I wouldn’t like that one bit. I would probably be that person who went to a non-doctor office ultrasound place if my doctor was making me wait that long. Anything longer than 7/8 weeks before an ultrasound would make me an anxious mess
  • @BurlapandLace ugh that's so annoying! I had to basically harass my doctors office to get the results from my first betas. Had another beta this morning and called the nursing department to ask for my results, and she acted like it was such an inconvenience for her and gave me attitude because I didn't have any specific questions and just wanted to know what my quantity number was *face palm*
  • @bkrahn ~ Ugh! I don’t get why they think us having this info is unnecessary. TBH, I was already switching doctors before I got my BFP, but since it takes SO long to get in as a new patient in doctors offices, that appointment isn’t until mid November. So I am stuck dealing with this doctor until then.

She finally had her PA call me and she said “your doctor wanted me to call you and say she saw your labs and said there was a rise in your levels so she wants me to schedule you for an appointment”. So that is this upcoming Monday. But I have no idea what it will consist of at less than 6 weeks, since I’m sure it won’t be an ultrasound. But oh well. At least I have an appointment and things are heading in the right direction!

I hate when the nurse or receptionist act like their patients are in inconvenience though. Like um, isn’t this your job?
  • @BurlapandLace that is annoying. Keep in mind that reception and nurses are people who have bad days too. That doesn't excuse rudeness but we are only human. I might have a million things going on but I'm at least nice when I answer the phone.
We are so excited to grow our family!

  • @sabby2 ~ I totally get that. It just seems like a recurring thing at the office. Like not a one time thing. It seems like every conversation I have had with them from our initial “I’d like to be set up as a new patient” conversation it just seems like an inconvenience to them. Which should have been a red flag. But I totally get they are only human. I used to be in customer service where I spent a LOT of time dealing with customers on the phone. So I get it. Trust me :)
  • @krashke @emjeve Yeah I would have thought so! I emailed the director when I got home requesting that there be some form of notification prior to drop off. We'll see what she says in response.

@krashke It's so hard to wait for the first ultrasound!

@emjeve Sorry about your dog! That's so hard and stressful for you, is that something that will get better over time? Any treatments?

  • @BurlapandLace that would drive me insane.  I think OB and OB offices in general see pregnancy as TBD because they see it every single day.  They need a reminder that for their patients this is a monumental experience.
  • I have to admit - it drives me nuts that the acronym "TW" has multiple meanings.  A person could read this as "Trigger Warning Tuesday".

  • @mytinc It is rather confusing. In my old bmb we called it "taco/waffles Tuesday". Tacos for positive things and waffles for negative.

  • That's what the September 14 board called it as well, @dinodna3.  The May13 board didn't even have this as a category.  I'm sure it's evolved over the years.  Instead of a catchy name I think a simple Thumbs up/Thumbs down would work.  But I'm simple like that.  ;)

  • @mytinc changed the name, thats a good point. @dinodna3 I really like the idea of something positive and something negative. In general I try to keep positive about whats going on and I have a hard time having things to include on some boards.
  • @dinodna3, it's been so long I don't remember anyone's bump name from back then.  LOL.  Congrats on the new pregnancy!

Unfortunately it will only get worse with age (she’s almost 8). We are actually go to try a bladder strengthening medication, so hopefully it will help!!
