What are your symptoms? Not much for symptoms at this point. I did have some twinges on my right lower abdominal right before bed last night which resulted in dreams that I had appendicitis and had to have an appendectomy *TW loss* which would have terminated the pregnancy */TW*(so apparently the crazy dreams have started). Woke up pretty anxious from that.

What appointments have you had/do you have coming up? How'd it go? N/A still need to call the OB

Rants/raves? rant-it's freaking cold already! We had to turn the heat on last night. My car had frost on it this morning! Rave-MH went out and started my car for me so it was nice and toasty

Questions for FTM, or STM+? I feel like I should have more but I don't  :/  I will probably think of some later and come back

GTKY: What song do you have on repeat right now? What song do you have to turn the radio up for when it comes on? I have been listening to Kesha's Rainbow recently and I repeat Hunt You Down and Boots. I have been enjoying Halsey's Bad at Love and that gets cranked when it comes on. I like pretty much any kind of music so give me all your suggestions!

What are your symptoms? Mainly just sore boobs. Sorta tired. Sorta irritable. Can't stand the smell in our fridge, but DH said he thinks it smells bad too, so I'm not sure I'm alone in that.

What appointments have you had/do you have coming up? How'd it go? I got betas done a few weeks ago, and they were good. Doubled within 48 hours. First actual OB appt on 10/25. I wanted to switch OBs, but it turns out all the ones I was interested in/all the midwives aren't taking new patients. Sigh.

Rants/raves? Flying to San Francisco on Saturday.... which is great timing considering half the bay area is on fire. We're going for my aunt's 70th birthday and staying at my mom's (they don't know we're coming, it's a surprise). My mom sent me photos this morning, and it looks like the hills are all covered in fog, but it's smoke. She's an hour drive from the fires, so physically safe, but it's still super scary.

Questions for FTM, or STM+? not right now

GTKY: What song do you have on repeat right now? What song do you have to turn the radio up for when it comes on? I live in NYC, so I don't drive, so I don't really listen to the radio... so I don't even know any songs! Maybe next week I'll know some when we're driving in CA. :)
  • @doxiemoxie212 I hope your mom's place stays safe from the fires.  Every time I hear of another natural disaster it breaks my heart just thinking about it.

    How far along are you?
    5+5

What are your symptoms? Only occassional mild period like cramps.

What appointments have you had/do you have coming up? How'd it go?  First with OB scheduled not until 11/8, which is almost 10 weeks. On waiting list for earlier appt.

Rants/raves? Due to lack of symptoms I'm slightly anxious, but it's still early.  Plus it doesn't help that my doctors appt is so far away.  Also, I miss my puppy :( I'm in Canada with my family for Thanksgiving weekend and DH said she's moping around the house waiting for me to come home.  Tomorrow night I get to fly back and see her.

Questions for FTM, or STM+? Probably a ton but can't think of one right now.

GTKY: What song do you have on repeat right now? What song do you have to turn the radio up for when it comes on? No promises by Cheat Codes ft. Demi Lovato.  So mainstream but super catchy when it comes on the radio!

What are your symptoms? Not much at all.  The week leading up to my missed period I was pretty crampy, but that's gone away.  Sometimes I feel a twinge but that's really it.  And sometimes when I sneeze I feel like I'm going to pop an ovary.  My boobs are a bit tender and my nipples haven't relaxed for one second since before my missed period

What appointments have you had/do you have coming up? How'd it go? I have my first OB appointment on the 25th for an ultrasound.  It seems forever away.

Rants/raves? Like everyone I'm sure, I'm just psyched to be pregnant.  The RE said chances were very low for us to conceive naturally and wanted us to do IVF, but it just somehow happened on its own.  My DH was showing me pictures of how he wants to do the baby room last night and it was so surreal.

@doxiemoxie212 I'm all the way in Sacramento and the air is hazy and smells like smoke - it's crazy!

Questions for FTM, or STM+?  Is anyone taking a folate supplement (vs folic acid)?  I've read so many negative things about folic acid supplements that I'd like to switch to the more natural folate form but I'm not sure which one to get.

GTKY: What song do you have on repeat right now? What song do you have to turn the radio up for when it comes on?  This is hard, I love music.  At this very moment I am listening to Paul Simon's "You can call me Al", which I just love to death.  Anytime I hear a Me First and the Gimme Gimme song I have to turn it up.

  • @RatParade I love "you can call me Al!" I went through a good phase of listening to, I think it was called 80's Hair Bands, station on Pandora!

Also re: folate vs folic acid I looked into this a lot while TTC because I wanted food based prenatal with folate. Right now I am taking the Honest Co one a day prenatal which is not food based but has folate. They also have a food based one but it is 3 pills a day. And the amount of folate in both is only about 650 mcg and I think closer to 800 is better. So I second the request for suggestions for a folate supplement. Or if anyone has any suggestions for a food based prenatal with folate that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, let me know!

What are your symptoms? I have been exhausted, and so weepy, I cry all the time. My boobs are also very sore and I have the most realistic dreams it's scary.

What appointments have you had/do you have coming up? How'd it go? Because of insurance stuff have yet to call

    Rants/raves? everything right now

Questions for FTM, or STM+? what are betas?

GTKY: What song do you have on repeat right now? What song do you have to turn the radio up for when it comes on? i don't listen to much music right now
  • @Miz_Liz I've looked into that one (actually got the men's one a day for MH from that brand) but it has folic acid and not folate.

  • @krashke bummer!!  I didn’t look that closely, I just remembered it was food based.  Sorry!  I will keep my eyes out.
  • @krashke I think people have said there's a good violate vitamin code one? I could be wrong. If you search for mthfr (ugh I always forget the exact name... it looks like m effer but that's not what I mean lol) I think you'll probably get some good threads because some people HAVE to take folate instead of folic acid due to gene mutations.

@doxiemoxie212 thanks for the rec! The Vitamin Code one here actually looks like exactly what I'm looking for.

I haven't been diagnosed with a MTHFR mutation but I've never been tested so folic acid is fine but I think getting both is helpful just in case.

  • How far along are you? 5 weeks tomorrow
What are your symptoms? they pretty much went away Friday (breast tenderness & bloating), the bloating has started to come back
What appointments have you had/do you have coming up? How'd it go? Doctor on Monday 10/16 since my progesterone was low and I'm on supplements
Rants/raves? At this point I just want clarity. After this I will probably never take another home pregnancy test. I don't want to know early anymore. I'd rather just find out at or after 6 weeks when I can hear and see my baby. These past 4 days have been torture and their is no real answers bc no u/s or heart beat yet.
Questions for FTM, or STM+?  I'm sure I'll have some later. Mind is kind of everywhere.
GTKY: What song do you have on repeat right now? What song do you have to turn the radio up for when it comes on? I love bank account by 21 savage. Yup this pregnant lady likes trap music.

5+6 (yay for ticker change tomorrow!)
    What are your symptoms?
Sore breasts but getting better, tired, so irritable/angry/crying, bloated, insomnia, weird dreams
What appointments have you had/do you have coming up? How'd it go?
Betas last week due to slight spotting but they doubled in 48 hours. Appt on Monday at perinatal assessment center to discuss FVL. Will have an ultrasound!
Rants/raves? I'm spent after my raging rants on the poor water heater repair guy yesterday

Questions for FTM, or STM+? Not at the moment

GTKY: What song do you have on repeat right now? What song do you have to turn the radio up for when it comes on? Small town boy, Dustin Lynch.
  • How far along are you? 5+5

What are your symptoms? An awesome combination of fatigue and insomnia. I almost fell asleep in the middle of the grocery store yesterday, but then couldn't actually fall asleep until after midnight and was up at 6. I don't know how much longer this can go on before I lose my sanity.

What appointments have you had/do you have coming up? How'd it go? My first ob appt is scheduled for 10/24. Feels so far away.

Rants/raves? I spent all day trying to get my insurance figured out since DH got laid off and I don't get insurance through my job. It was so stressful but at least it's done.

Questions for FTM, or STM+? Definitely a million things soon, but I'm still a little too scattered to come up with anything this week.

GTKY: What song do you have on repeat right now? What song do you have to turn the radio up for when it comes on? I'm not a huge radio fan, I mostly just listen to Spotify playlists. One song that I never skip is Cecilia by Simon and Garfunkel. It helps that that's my favorite name for a girl right now.

  • Re: PNVs - I actually just bought a bottle of Nature's Bound Prenatals. They have folic acid and folate. I took gummy PNVs while TTGP that had folate in them as well. I figured if it was one more thing to not have to worry about, I'd try it.

How far along are you? 3+5

What are your symptoms? Slight nausea in the morning, increased appetite, sore breasts, pelvic cramps, fatigue... Mood swings out the wazoo as well. I think I gave the ladies at work the evil eye every 10 minutes yesterday, hah!

What appointments have you had/do you have coming up? How'd it go? None yet. I called yesterday to find out what exercises would be safe for me to do at the gym, but part of me is scared to make an appt. I'll probably ask one of the girls at work to schedule me in next week.

Rants/Raves? I'm just immensely happy to even be here, and still have a hard time believing it! I'm stilling peeing on sticks twice a day (FFWC?) just to make sure there's still a line.

Questions for FTM, or STM+? Nope.

GTKY: What song do you have on repeat right now? What song do you have to turn the radio up for when it comes on? I don't really have one that I'm super in to? I've been really in to pop songs lately, though, lol.

  • @izza2 I have been POAS every day as well. Mostly because my first few BFP's were faint. This morning the line came in almost immediately and was pretty dark so I might take a break. I still have two FRER and one Wondfo so I think I am going to save those for when I need reassurance because my first appt isn't until 11/9  :(

  • @krashke, lol, it's finally getting to normal temps here in the desert (in the 90s this week). I don't miss the cold at all. Little nervous about having a newborn in crazy heat though.

@doxiemoxie212, be careful with all that smoke! Maybe bring a mask with you. I hear a lot of places have sold out of them, so if you want one when you get there, you might be SOL. Can't wait to hear your mom's reaction when she sees you!

    @becca_123, poor pup!

@RatParade, **TW** I'm taking Smarty Pants PNV, which has methyl folate instead of folic acid. During my first pregnancy I had a panel done for blood clots disorders due to family history, and came back with an MTHFR mutation (homozygous actually), but didn't actually hear about those results until after my second MC started (don't get me started on that one). This enzyme converts folic acid to folate, the form that's usable by the folate receptor. Too much folic acid can actually bind to the receptor and prevent it's activation. I had been put on extra folic acid supplements during my first pregnancy, and I wonder if it continues to the loss. So now I stick to these new PNVs, and also cut down on foods with enriched flour (contains folic acid). MTHFR is fairly common, but fewer people have two copies of the mutation like me. Probably not a huge concern for you, but doesn't hurt to switch to folate! Leafy greens have a lot of it too.

@ffw0617, girl, I'm right there with you on the anxiety train. I don't think I'll be comfortable until second tri

@izza2, me too with peeing on sticks. But today would be my missed period, and I finally got a strong positive, so maybe I'll stop?

How far along are you? 4+0

What are your symptoms? Sore boobs, peeing a lot (including middle of the night), twinges and cramping, super cranky

What appointments have you had/do you have coming up? How'd it go? Due to my history, there getting me in around 6 weeks on 10/23

Rants/raves? I'm so anxious this time around. Can't wait to get past first tri, but it feels like it's going so slow.

Also, FYI, the daily dose is 6 gummies, so I take 3 in the morning and 3 in the evening, otherwise it's just too much sweets. Plus then if I forget, at least I get a half dose.

  • @RatParade the Smarty Pants prenatal gummy has folate in it instead of folic acid. I get them at Whole Foods or Target.
  • @krashke - my appt is  11/8, but I'll be 7 weeks on the 3rd so I may ask them to move it up a little (their earliest visit they'll see you is 7 weeks). It feels like the next few weeks will go by so slow...

@icecubeinthedesert - I'm hoping I'll calm down once I get past when i would have expected my period, but I'm sure my version of calming down will really just be testing once instead of twice. :grimace:

@icecubeinthedesert @bitzyg (and everyone else) Thanks for the info!  I'm on an anti-seizure medication that increases the chance of neural tube defects so I'm on a prescription of 5mg (yes, mg!) of folic acid daily.  That's a ton, so I'm trying to find a separate folate supplement to take in addition to my prenatal.

  • @RatParade - I may be able to calm the crazy after this weekend. It'll help that my brother is coming up from Arkansas and staying with us. We'll see, though.
I got most of my OPKs and the tests I have from another bump member just after my BFP cycle started (), so I'd really like to pass them on to someone else for good luck and not use them all up myself. Superstitious, I know, but I can't help it.
