The pain.... 3rd baby.

It's my third baby and my most painful pregnancy yet  :| The last two were a breeze compared to this.
I'm 14 weeks along and have mega back, hip and front pain. (No bleeding) and the pain comes and goes.
The bath helps until I have to get out...Bummer..
I had to take paracetamol this afternoon because I was struggling to stand for longer than 15 minutes.
Does anyone know of more natural ways to ease the pain? Or do I need to grow a pair and deal with this pain?
Thanks in advance for any replies!

Re: The pain.... 3rd baby.

  • My hips were hurting a few weeks ago so I went to my chiro (he actually specializes in pregnancy) and it helped a ton!  I go about every4 weeks or sooner if I am hurting.  I would highly recommend a chiro that has studied the Weber method!

  • I had terrible pain in my rib area with my first pregnancy. Woke up every night at 3:30am and walked around the house waiting for it to stop. My husband found me in the bathtub at 5am crying one morning before work. I was in my second trimester when all of this happened but I felt so much better after getting a prenatal massage. Knowing that has worked in the past if I have any pain with this pregnancy that will be the first place I go. Hope you find some relief soon!
  • @nelsonjr82-2 just curious did you ever have gallbladder issues after yours was born?  I had rib area pain on the right side around second tri with dd. My on insisted it was BH. except it never went away after she was born and 3 months later they finally figured out that it was my gallbladder!

@riversdoctor Thanks for replying. I shall look into seeing someone about that on monday through my midwife, as I've now been up with the pain most of the night. It's driving me crazy!!
  • I'm in my 3rd pregnancy as well and I'm in quite a bit of pain as well. I plan to get a prenatal massage and see my chiro in the next week. I recommend you try at least one of those as well. Add some epsom salt to your baths. I'm also a big fan of a heating pad on my hips, although I don't know for sure if that's recommended - it just helps. Sorry you're in pain!
  • @nelsonjr82-2 I'll be ringing around on Monday to see who provides prenatal massages in/ around my town. It sounds like l could do with one! Thanks for your reply
  • So glad I'm not alone. Third pregnancy and I'm shocked by the amount of back and hip pain I'm having already. I figured it's because I'm older and a little heavier than my 2 last pregnancies. Using a pregnancy pillow has been helping but not every night. I would love to get a massage but money is tight right now. Tylenol helps but don't want to take all the time. Hang in there!
  • @riversdoctor is so right about the Chiro. I started going in my first pregnancy due to round ligament pain and it's the only thing that helped. Hope your midwife can recommend a good one!
  • @riversdoctor - No, the pain went away after my DD was born and haven't felt it since. I wish I had an explanation for it because it was beyond awful.
  • Ugh I’m a STM and having a ton of back and hip pain already too. No advice but hoping you get some relief soon.
  • Lots of good recommendations (chiropractor, prenatal massage) already!
STM here. Pre-pregnancy I would occasionally have sciatic pain. Currently having it more often, as well as general back pain. I just ordered a 2in1 Bandit by Belly Bandit, as user reviews mentioned relief of sciatic and back pain. I’m hopeful it works! Also hoping everyone else has less aches and pains - pregnancy is hard enough already.

  • This is my 3rd pregnancy and I am actually the opposite. I have barely had any pain what so ever. Not much round ligament pain, back or hip pain. In my other 2 pregnancies I remember having all kinds of pain in my 1st trimester and through out. I must have traded that all in for more morning sickness though because this is by far the worst out of all 3!
  • 3rd pregnancy here as well and yes it was the most painful. I say "was" bc the hip and back pain are becoming less. My ob told me at my 12w check that it was more than likely from the hormone relaxin and that the closer to 2nd tri i get the better i should feel. She was right in my case. I'm not 100% pain free but the wicked-back-spasm pains have stopped.

I share only bc i hope it is the same for others.  :)

  • I appreciate this thread and I would have never thought of seeing a chiro for RLP. I’m planning to go anyway because my back is so bad. But the RLP has been full on Charlie horse level and so painful
