If this little one is a girl, she will be named Aubrey Lynne - Lynne is my mother’s middle name If it’s a boy, he will be named Hunter John - John is my FIL’s middle name.
We plan on all our kid’s middle names being family names. First names are just names we like, no Family meaning. DS’s middle name is also a family name.
Girl will be some version of Evelyn (unsure which spelling, might be regular Evelyn, who knows). My maternal grandmother was named Evelyn. My husband never knew his maternal grandparents because they died when MIL was young and he never asked any questions, but we found out recently MILs mom was also named Evelyn!
Boy I think will be named Nicholas. I lost a bet a while ago and DH wanted to name our first son after Nick Fury (the comic book character), but I said I was fine with Nicholas. I've always liked that name.
DH and I are still debating names. I'm half-Swedish and he's half-Japanese, so we are thinking about finding ways to incorporate both cultures into the name. These two are probably our top choices:
Felix So far we are pretty certain this is our choice for a boy. It's not Swedish, but it's a popular name in Sweden so the association is very strong for me. It's Latin for 'happy' and 'lucky.' We are thinking about a Japanese middle name to go with it. Wren We like this for a girl because it's an English name (for the little songbird) as well as sounding like the Japanese name Ren, meaning 'lotus.' I'm also a fan of the following: Astrid (f; Norse for 'divinely beautiful') Agnes (f; Greek for 'pure') - extremely popular in Sweden Violet (f; Latin for 'purple') - we had a huge bloom of wild violets around our house the week following my MMC Sören(m; Norse for 'stern')
For a Girl: Emma middle name to be decided (Emma Frost) meaning whole, or complete & this will be our last pregnancy. For a Boy: Logan James (Wolverine)
No shame in my husband's long time love of all things Marvel.
We are currently tossing names around. Middle name will be a family name. (DS middle is my dad and DH name) Girl middle will for sure be Teresa. (My bff middle, MIL middle, FIL's moms first).
@marcus7676 Thanks!! Mine was on board straight away with Felix, which is why I think we are both settled on it. I personally feel it's a strong, timeless name and I love how it has such a positive meaning. Fingers crossed your DH comes around!
@kaydah Haha, that's exactly how mine is! I keep suggesting names and when he says no to every one of them I just get exasperated that he has nothing to offer!
I think DH is still in shock that we are pregnant so we have hardly talked about anything!
If a boy, I like the name Everett but I'm pretty sure DH won't go for that. I like Kamryn for a girl (Kami for her nickname) and I'm pretty sure DH won't go for that one either. hahaha
I love family names but there isn't really ONE name that has carried through generations. Our DS has DH's middle name and our DD has my middle name so I'm not sure what we'll do this time around. Lots to figure out!!
@BlackAndGold09 My DH may want to go for Daisy too! ha! It is so fun to read what you're all thinking so far!!

"Dear Lord, I would have loved to have held my babies on my lap & tell them about you, but since I didn't get the chance, would you please hold them on your lap & tell them about me?" All are welcome!
We typically have had our kids names picked out before we got pregnant. This time we were going back-and-forth like crazy while TTC.
Our boys name will be Howard Lawson and girl is either Amelia John or Millicent John. My husband is in love with Amelia. I like Millicent. Both would have the nickname Millie. Now that it's real and actually happening God willing, I'm more inclined to let him have the name he wanted. But I can't get Millicent off the brain.
Our kids already have family names ( Natalie Mae, Miles Thomas) and I felt weird not doing it for the third one. I really wanted to honor my dad this time around. He already has grandkids named after him and his side of the family but not in our family. My father-in-law is honored, my mother-in-law is the family, and my kids first names are my grandmother's name in my mom's maiden name, so it's definitely my dad's turn. I know a masculine middle name for a little girl isn't everyone style, but we really love it.
I really think my dad's going to freak out and cry. I'm going to do my best not to tell him until after the baby comes. Lawson is his middle name to, but I might switch it to John. Still figuring it all out LOL. Considering I called my husband this morning to tell him I had a positive test lol.
I feel like I have all this nervous energy that I just don't know what to do with. Hence why I'm talking about baby names absurdly early in the process LOL.
@silvergreen I lost it today on him about names. I was suggesting a few and he sarcastically goes "You still have 8 months you know." Okay Mr. Man when the baby arrives and gets the name *I* like that you don't...keep your mouth shut.
We have a Charlotte. We were in love with that name (and still am) when we started dating. It is becoming a bit popular but what are you gonna do. My mother is already calling her Charlie.....it's cute, but keep that in mind if you like or dislike that nickname.
We don’t have any lists for this one yet, but DS’s name is Kane, which is my MIL’s maiden name. So we‘ll probably use another family name. My FIL’s step dad (his predominant father figure) has the last name Kennedy, so that will probably make it onto a list.

We decided when we got pregnant with DD1 (Aurora Jayde) that it would be fun to stick to alphabetical order... Beginning with A! So this is my 4th pg and hopefully 3rd living child.. And we're on letter C! I picked out the girls name for C like 5 years ago just after having DD2... (Bellatrix Athena) But couldn't come up with a C boy name. I pick out the first names and DH picks the middle.. Then we agree or suggest alternatives.. Etc. And we seem to have a star/sky theme going so...this time we've got Caseaopeia Delphinium for a girl.

I'm so glad I get to say this here. I don't want to tell anyone I know Tha names my DH and I are planning so getting to tell someone is really nice.
For a boy it would be Xavier Larkin. Larkin is my husband's name and when we got married the one thing he wanted was for our first boy to be named Xavier. And he isn't even a X-Men fan.
Anyway for a girl I want to name her Adelaide. And nickname her Dela.
DH and I cannot agree to save our lives. We have Brentley, and his name was so easy. This time around it is so hard! I love the name Elias, he hates it. We will likely use Daniel as a middle name as it is a family name on my mom’s side. My current choice for a girl is Jocelyn Laine after both of our moms. (MIL middle is Jo, my moms middle is Elaine.)
DH: 29 years old. Me: 25 years old. DS: born 12/30/14 Baby #2 due 6/8/18
@BlackAndGold09... Thank you! I'm a big astronomy fan and really wanted a B name that had a fantastic meaning (Bellatrix - star in the Orion constellation.. Meaning female warrior!) and was a star or something relating to the beautiful sky! (Aurora - Dawn). Not to sound completely ridiculous... But what is hp?
@firsttimemommy997 I love Adelaide... Made me also thing of Adeline! Which I love too!
DH likes Vera for a girl. I'm not opposed bUT not 100% sold. Last time I struggled finding boy names... this time around I'm finding girl names difficult. Good thing we've got awhile!!
@dinodna3 OMG! I feel like such a dunce. Lmao. Thank you for clearing up my confusion.
I totally know of that series of books/movies and while I did enjoy reading the books. We actually didn't name her after that character. People used to ask me that all the time though.
I think a girl would be Charlotte Ruby A boy might be Benjamin Thomas, but I'm not in love with that yet. I like Nicholas too, but I don't know if I like Nick as a nickname.
I've been thinking about names for a while even though I made myself promise not to.
For a girl I really love Cecilia with a potential middle name of Josephina for my grandma.
For a boy we're thinking Jack after my husband's grandfather, but I don't love how popular that name is. No idea for a middle though. DH literally just threw out Tiberius and I honestly don't hate it (we're both pretty big trekkies).
@firsttimemommy997 my friend has a daughter named Adelaide and I love that name!!
Me 30 Him 30 Married August 2015 DS born 5/23/2018 TTC #2 July 2020
If I have a boy I want to name him Michael. I love the name and all of the nicknames (Mike, Mikey). I think that it looks professional on a resume. Also my mom’s chemo nurse was a Michael and he was amazing, so it makes me fonder of the name. DH isn’t saying no so far. If it’s a girl probably Morgan (DD was Morgan for a day until DS renamed her). We are notorious for deciding after the fact though, as much as we always swear we will decide beforehand.
I've always had a bit of a soft spot for the names Noelle and August. DH thinks it's silly to use the names if they aren't born on the associated month/time of year. I can't decide if I agree with that or not. Thoughts?
@silvergreen MIL is named after her birth month and honestly I think that's weirder. Like, it makes me feel like her parents couldn't think of a name lol.
Our girl name was decided long before we even got married....Aviana Grace but if we have another boy we are clueless because we took FOREVER to decide on our son's name! He was a couple hours old before we finally decided lol. We really struggle with boys name as we both have very strong opinions on that. As a teacher, it's super hard for me to choose a name that doesn't come with a negative association of students past or present

Still looking for middle names and hubs isn't helping at all. He suggested Abraham for a boy. That's it. Smh.

Originally we would have Jack Michael Carson
Jack - part for M's grandfather but my grandpa name was John and also popular name in my family
Michael - my dad's name
Carson - M's dad's name
Now we're not sure for boy name. Likely Jack be a middle name. I do like Elias - saw it the other day. Maybe Elias Jack?
Girl - Harper Jaclyn
Harper - granny {mom's side} maiden name
Jaclyn - same reason as Jack, only female version
If we have a boy his MN will be Patrick. No MN chosen if baby is a girl.
Boys: Benjamin, Oliver, Caleb, Graham
Girls: Charlotte, Lillian, Lucy, Grace
