Question about CP and FET

Hello, ladies

I just got done with our first round of IVF and a fresh transfer that sadly ended in CP. My first beta was 147 and my second one dropped to 49. I am waiting for the third result at the moment as we are trying to figure out how fast my level is dropping. I stopped all the medications about 24 hours ago. I feel like crap inside and out. I had some very intense cramping but no bleeding so far. My question is what should I expect now? Am I going to start bleeding soon? Is it gonna be kind of like AF or more intense? How soon can I move into a FET cycle? Any info will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Re: Question about CP and FET

  • You should be able to start the fet next month. With a CP your period will be the same or just a tad heavier. Tw- I have had 4 CP's and only one gave me a heavier period.  Many people have CPs and never even know it (unless they are actively testing, etc.)

Sorry for your loss though, I know it's tough. Just keep on going and good luck with your fet

  • Thanks @Crystal321, when should the bleeding start? I stopped progesterone yesterday and all I feel is cramps so far.

It could start at any time... with a cp the levels seem to drop quicker (thus allowing the bleed to begin) sometimes it takes a day or two for the progesterone to clear but for some it drops quickly.
so sorry for your loss. *TW im on number 4 (two this spring) so I can relate...
    sending hugs
  • @DecemberDoll27 mine started about 21 days past the FET date
  • Thanks @dragonette505 and @Crystal321. AF came today, the strongest one I have ever had I think. But it was also after stim cycle so  it is to be expected. I think I am going to take a cycle off and move to FET late November/early December. Do you think it is a good idea to skip a cycle after CP? I am not sure I am there physically and mentally yet to try again and be optimistic about it.

  • @DecemberDoll27 No one can tell you whats best, but if you feel you need the break, take it! ***TW*** My doc (from my last clinic) told me after my FET and MC at 7 wks that I didn't need to have protected sex after my MC because it was unlikely I would get KU..... I kept waiting for AF and it never came. Doc says maybe my beta hasn't hit 0 and I never O'ed... came back in and my beta was at 700 or something.... I DID o! My betas never doubled and I MC'd again at 5 wks.....
this was all horrible especially back to back. I say take that break if you need it. For all I know, my body wasn't ready to be pg again... I was spotting the whole time and honestly didn't have a good feeling about it because I didn't think my body was back to normal.
  • If you feel you need a break, take it! There is no harm in it
